The Cattle Farm is a stunning holiday home that offers the perfect blend of comfort and nature. Nestled in the heart of the Kempen region, it is surrounded by lush greenery and provides a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The house is designed to accommodate large groups, with 7 spacious bedrooms, 14 beds for adults, 1 children's bunk bed, and 3 bathrooms, providing ample space for everyone.
The location of the Cattle Farm is ideal for exploring the Kempen region. It is only 25 minutes from Hasselt, 40 minutes from Antwerp and one hour from Liège and Eindhoven. The area offers a wide range of activities and attractions, from hiking and biking trails, to historic sites and picturesque villages. There are many opportunities for outdoor activities such as horseback riding, fishing, and even a visit to the local zoo, providing endless entertainment for the whole family.
The house is fully equipped with everything you need to make your stay comfortable, from a fully-equipped kitchen to a laundry room. The heated swimming pool and garden bar are perfect for relaxing and entertaining, while the spacious terrace offers stunning views of the surrounding forest. The property also has an entertainment area for children, making it ideal for families.
The property is owned by Steven and Kathleen, who were formerly members of the Belgian music group K3, but now reside in South Africa. However, they make an annual visit to Belgium to enjoy their beautiful home in the forest. They have put a lot of love and care into the Cattle Farm, and are delighted to share it with others so they can experience the tranquility and beauty of the Kempen region. With its endless options for entertainment and activities, the Cattle Farm is the perfect place for an unforgettable family vacation, a team-building retreat, or simply a peaceful getaway.

We enjoyed a nice family time at De Rundershoeve during the autumn holidays. An excellent location for young and old with indoor play space and a surprisingly fully enclosed area around the farm where the children could play to their heart's content.
A cozy salon with comfortable seats was pleasant.
The kitchen is equipped with many modern gadgets and there is more than enough kitchenware.

The bedrooms are spacious and have sufficient storage space. A spacious storage and laundry room was an added value.
A baby cot and high chair were provided on request. A tip: perhaps provide a few children's plates and cups, as letting the little ones eat from the tableware was sometimes exciting.

Contact with our buddy went very smoothly and he always tried to solve a problem quickly. The site was also thoroughly inspected after the heavy storm.

On arrival we were impressed by a personal welcome letter from the owners and some cooled drinks as well as some snacks in the fridge. We have to say that the garden and the tranquility that comes with it is really the greatest asset of this accommodation. Unfortunately, we didn't have too great weather and we only found out later in the week that the pool was not too clean in our experience. By reporting this, they sent someone over and did the necessary. The house itself is certainly not new (luxury) but it does have its charm. If you are looking for fun and the necessary peace, then it is definitely recommended!

Much better than expected. Incredibly beautiful rooms. Everything well arranged with bed linen, towels etc. We arrived were warmly received and given a tour. The space around the house is perfect for group activities. We really enjoyed the pool and garden. In bad weather there is also enough space to sit inside with the group. Really recommended :)

Every year we go on holiday with the whole family for a week (grandparents to grandchildren) and have therefore seen the necessary houses. What a beautiful place and what a fantastic pool!
We enjoyed the week but there are really some things that are not expected for this price category.
The annex had not been cleaned (toilet / bathroom still dirty from the previous user - for example, poop in the toilet and a trash can full of mold and not emptied!) and very dusty. There was no socket for the lamps and the sink leaked, so the floor was always wet.
The kitchen was not fully cleaned and the equipment leaves something to be desired - we missed essentials like scissors, ladles, water and wine glasses for 13 people, etc.
Both the coffee maker and the extractor hood were very dirty and the lamps did not work in the extractor hood, so cooking in the dark. For 13 people, the kitchen linen was really too little (3 tea towels). The dining table was super cozy and the TV "s did great! The number of refrigerators was great!
As for the bedrooms: there are two bedrooms where you can't access from a corridor - you have to go through another bedroom - ok-ish for us, but important to properly describe this for other groups. Bed linen was not ok - some only had a flannel, others only a cotton cover. The first upstairs bedroom had a very old and dirty mattress. Also, this room had no plug sockets and no functioning bedside lamps and the screen had holes in it. A fantastic bathroom upstairs.
Outdoor table and chairs are cheap but works..... the tablecloth was moldy, dirty and old so not ok.
As we mentioned, the pool was great, but the cushions on the lounge chairs don't fit, are moldy and just plain dirty.
All in all a house with potential, but not for us again ... until there is an upgrade and better cleaning. Price / quality not in proportion.

We have therefore really looked forward to staying with you for our annual family weekend.
However, the stay was unfortunately not as we expected.
When we arrived we got a tour from Julie and she already indicated that they had a very busy week so that they quickly went through the house and that the handyman just didn't get around to solving it.
The house was therefore far from clean and there is a lot of overdue maintenance.
When Julie was gone we started cleaning before the rest of my family came, we informed Julie about this.
kitchen
Kitchen cupboards were full of crumbs
There was a lot of dirty dishes in the cupboards
There were 2 pans in the drawer with leftover food and the pans were so outdated that the scratches from forks were in them, we didn't use the pans.
The net for the cutlery in the dishwasher is defective in several places. With such a large group, this is far too little capacity to wash.
The oven was very dirty and we cleaned one side of the oven not working.
The gas stove was very dirty, we also cleaned this.
Bathrooms
In the bathroom downstairs, the edge was full of vermin, the tiles are moldy and there were cobwebs.
The shower in the main bathroom upstairs was full of mould.
We have not been able to use the bathroom in the chalet because it is flooded and there is no way this will go away. This is not the first time since the box is completely warped. Cobwebs were everywhere here too. So we used 2 bathrooms with 14 people and always had to walk to the big house for this.
