We had a very nice stay in this holiday cottage. The location was perfect, just a short walk to the beach. The kitchen was fully equipped, we made breakfast every day and felt at home. The terrace was an added bonus, perfect for evening barbecues!

What a delightful stay! The vacation home in Portbail-sur-Mer was spacious and beautifully decorated. The terrace was perfect for morning coffee, and we loved the proximity to Lindbergh Beach for our daily swimming sessions. Highly recommended for families!

Utah beach is a 40 minute drive away. Beach at 3km, to do on foot, quiet easy road to follow (cross 1× busy road). Easy to find parking at the beach if you want to go by car

House is not worth the high price you pay for it. Landlords are really very nice, it's not that. The worst was the double bed: it consisted of an old yellowed mattress with a new topper on top, but it was rock hard nonetheless. We slept badly, put blankets under us but both had back pain and were glad that we went to another house after a week. The inventory of the house is partly charming old antiques, partly old junk or cheap IKEA. The cottage is single glazed, damp, and the view is not the castle it belongs to, but an old concrete grain silo, a high hedge, and a derelict barn. In addition, the (single-glazed) windows are so high that you can only look outside while standing. The 'bathroom' downstairs is so small and narrow that only small children can use it, plus the door frame is 1.65m; my husband hit his head hard on it. The upstairs bathroom was simple, but fine. The area around Port-Bail is beautiful and made up for it. But I would never book this cottage again.

Absolutely lonely and quiet holiday home with the nicest and most hospitable landlords that we have met in recent years. Only a few kilometers to a sandy beach, boulangerie, restaurants and supermarket. It may be a bit cool in spring and autumn, not all rooms can be heated - if in doubt, ask the landlord!

The house is very difficult to find, the description of Belvilla was not correct at all!

The owner met us after an hour of driving around. Belvilla really needs to correct that.

Charming old house, beautifully situated by an even more charming castle. Wonderfully quiet, beautiful lawn to play Frisbee or something. Nice forest (we saw a deer and bats and heard hedgehogs and an owl). Dark enough for stargazing, although many planes fly overhead. Portbail is 5 minutes by car, supermarket has basically everything. Sea is just as close, with Jersey on the horizon. The owner invited us for coffee and a tour, and despite my limited French vocabulary, it was a lot of fun! What a very nice people. Utah beach is within driving distance, Omaha beach a bit further, but also doable. We have even seen Mont Saint Michel, but I thought it was a bit far (an hour and 45 minutes drive). We have had two wonderful holiday weeks!

We had a wonderful holiday in a fantastic setting (e.g. the sea in Port-Bail is only 3 km away) with magical late summer weather. The house is the former manager's house belonging to the castle with 6 beds in 3 bedrooms - the environment is Absolutely quiet at night - you sleep great. The house is rustic, lovingly furnished. The beautiful fireplace (unlimited firewood) was constantly in use during our stay, towel heating in the bathroom was very pleasant, large shower with good water pressure and great temperature, bedding , Mattresses etc. very good. Dishwasher and washing machine available. The very nice and to be found landlords (= owners of the castle) took care of us. We even had a wonderful evening together with a private tour of the castle. Highly recommended XXX
