St. Jean-de-Monts
St. Jean-de-Monts is rightfully so one of the best loved seaside resorts of the Vendée. Its main attraction is of course the wide sandy beach and you will also find a lively promenade with boat, catamaran, kayak and surf board rental, a casino, many terraces, restaurants and shops. In the port you can catch a boat to Ile d'Yeu just off the coast. On this island you can visit the castle and the museum or hit on one of the many beaches.
You can reach Ile de Noirmoutiers (30 km) by car - via a long bridge. This peninsula with its 12th century castle is certainly worth a visit, there is a theme park and a large sea aquarium with seals and you can take a trip with a covered wagon. Back on the mainland you can find large forests surrounding St. Jean-de-Monts where you can walk in the shade of the pine trees.
Or would you rather cycle? The many cycleways will take you past long-stretched beaches, through the coastal woods and the hinterland marshlands. Due to the high salinity of the water salt is yielded here; you will see several salt mounds drying in the sun. Plage Merlin in St. Hilaire-de-Riez (15 km) has a water park with giant slides. Fun for kids! Other well-known seaside resorts are St. Gilles Croix-de-Vie (18 km) and Les Sables d'Olonnes (47 km).
Attention golf lovers! The first 18-hole golf course is in St. Jean-de-Monts and there are four additional courses nearby! Would you rather relax? Thalasso therapy is also an option. A bakery, bike rental, supermarket, weekly market, post office and a discotheque in St. Jean-de-Monts.

Domaine de Vertmarines is on the edge of spacious St. Jean-de-Monts amidst lush woodlands. Both centre and beach are about 3,5 km away. The wide gate gives access to this gorgeous domaine that comprises a very neatly kept area of 6,5 ha with excellent facilities. The reception area has a wireless internet connection and in July/August you will find fresh croissants and baguettes here. Or would you rather indulge by using the breakfast service?

Domaine de Vertmarines Villa Park is in the wooded area of Saint-Jean-de-Monts. Le Domaine de Vertmarines stands for luxury, detached villas and private swimming pools. You will also find plenty of amenities at Domaine de Vertmarines. WiFi is available at reception. In July and August you can fetch your fresh croissants and baguettes from there. Better still, let yourself be pampered by the breakfast service. Both centre and beach are about 3,5 km away.
Saint-Jean-de-Monts is one of the most popular seaside resorts in the Vendée. There is the beautiful, long, sandy beach and the charming boulevard with its casino, cafes, restaurants and shops. You can also hire a boat, catamaran, kayak and surfboard. In the harbour, you can take the ferry for a crossing to Ile d'Yeu. You can visit the castle and the museum on the island. Or you can sit yourself on one of the many secluded beaches.
Ile de Noirmoutiers (30km) can be easily reached by car over a long bridge. With its 12th century castle, amusement park and aquarium with seals, this peninsula is a must! You can also go on a ride in a covered wagon. Back on the mainland, the woods of Saint-Jean-de-Monts await you. Hiking is wonderful in the shade of the tall pine trees.
Many cycle paths in the Vendée run alongside wide beaches, deep forests and marshland. A voyage of discovery awaits you! There is often salt extracted in this region. Here and there piles of it are drying in the sun; enough for a countless number of eggs! There is a water theme park with giant slides at Merlin Plage in Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez (15km). Other famous resorts are Saint-Gilles Croix-de-Vie (18km) and Les Sables d'Olonne (47km).
Are you a golf fan? The first 18-hole golf course is in Saint-Jean-de-Monts. There are four other courses nearby. Need a moment to relax? Then thalassotherapy might be something for you! A bakery, bike hire, supermarket, weekly market, bank, post office and disco are all to be found in Saint-Jean-de-Monts.

The swimming pool is availbale from May until October, depending on the weather conditions.
Every private swimming pool can be heated on request. The costs are based on usage according to the meter reading, this is an amount of approximately 150 per week.
The costs for electra and electricity for the villa's, and private swimming pool will be stated by meter reading on arrival and departure. Therefore the costs could be higher than mentioned in the extra costs.
If you choose to do your own final cleaning, at the end of your stay you will be refunded part of the deposit to the value of the final cleaning.

Private pool is even extra heating costs for a week 150, - euro on the electricity bill. The park has a decline to cycle to the boulevard with restaurants to gaan.Leuk trip: car museum in Talmont St-Hilaire 10, - for adults. Classics.

House is on holiday park, so there is no through traffic (behind closed gate). House itself is fully equipped and with private pool to relax. In the immediate vicinity are not many facilities, so car or bicycle is necessary (for example for groceries). Very pleased and in our opinion a must!

The reception at the reception was reasonable we were polite in English to speak but it was not really warm. We had booked a 4-person house, but were allocated a 6-person house. The furniture in the house itself was dated but clean. Beds are not really fantastic. The downstairs bathroom had a bath, no shower curtain or screen. Upstairs bathroom only had a shower, a very small one so not really handy with 2 small children. Pool was really fantastic, clean and reheating was absolutely unnecessary (early August). The area is not within walking distance, you have to take the bike or car everywhere. You could order sandwiches at the reception, but you could only pick up from 9 o'clock. Cycling to the beach or village is good, especially if you cycle through the forest. No WiFi in the house, only at the reception. We had a fantastic holiday, but we found the price not in relation to the quality of the house and the service offered.

The staff in charge of reception and maintenance are very friendly. House well located in a quiet area near the forest and cycle paths. We are nevertheless disappointed by the low level of services compared to the price. "Internet access possible, 4G non-existent ..) The interior decoration does not correspond to the description. the furnishings are "kitsch" and the padlocks on many cupboards show the mercantile character of the owner

Environment beautiful, the home appliances had some flaws. In the kitchen only steelpads and no lids to be recognized. Some things like garde onbrake.tuinstoel pillows were very worn.Droogrek was very old and broken with a bit of wind. Above all, an email has been sent to which we have not received an answer.

For us this was already the second time we visited La Domaine de Vertmarines and again with great pleasure. The park is situated in beautiful surroundings at the woods. Our week was pre-planned mainly in the garden by the pool and BBQ and that was more than good. Both the villa 's self as the garden is spacious and the pool is clean. Each villa however it may differ if the pool is equipped with an alarm, fencing, full canopy or tarp it is definitely advisable to known in advance to what your wishes are. Both beach, shopping and other attractions embark on cycling distance or within 10 minutes by car. by foot, this is not recommended. We will definitely be back for a third time.

Villa was top! Neat clean and tidy and the privacy was also very good! We will not be more different. Absolutely everything in the villa was there! We had to bring your own things like clothes pins, hair dryer, iron, but this was actually all have been unnecessary because everything was already there. Top hear!

We had a wonderful holiday here. A very nice house, fully equipped. And super as "my own swimming pool in the garden. From the park you walk into the forest, great for walking. The beach is a bit further, you have to take the car. If you have the opportunity to bike to join take, is recommended. Fine place to explore by bike.

We have had a fantastic week with our two older children in this house. The villa is fully furnished, clean and the pool lovely. The park is quiet and just behind the park is a nature reserve where you can bike and walk. In half an hour you bike on the beach or center of St. Jean de Monts. The bikes can be delivered to the villa and retrieved. Overall a good accommodation.

We had 2 beautiful weeks and could be well maintained by the owner every day in the pool. The cottage itself was very comfortable and it was lacking. What I was sorry for was that there was only WiFi at the front desk and not in the cottages. For such a nice park, I think that is a big drawback. In the area you could also enjoy beautiful cycling.

Friendly team smiling and friendly. The accommodation is in itself very well equipped by cons the hygiene of the house is to review (dirty dishes, inside walls of the house covered with stains, unwashed floors ...). Otherwise a quiet villa in a setting where you feel right away and the pool is very nice.
