St. Jean-de-Monts
St. Jean-de-Monts is rightfully so one of the best loved seaside resorts of the Vendée. Its main attraction is of course the wide sandy beach and you will also find a lively promenade with boat, catamaran, kayak and surf board rental, a casino, many terraces, restaurants and shops. In the port you can catch a boat to Ile d'Yeu just off the coast. On this island you can visit the castle and the museum or hit on one of the many beaches.
You can reach Ile de Noirmoutiers (30 km) by car - via a long bridge. This peninsula with its 12th century castle is certainly worth a visit, there is a theme park and a large sea aquarium with seals and you can take a trip with a covered wagon. Back on the mainland you can find large forests surrounding St. Jean-de-Monts where you can walk in the shade of the pine trees.
Or would you rather cycle? The many cycleways will take you past long-stretched beaches, through the coastal woods and the hinterland marshlands. Due to the high salinity of the water salt is yielded here; you will see several salt mounds drying in the sun. Plage Merlin in St. Hilaire-de-Riez (15 km) has a water park with giant slides. Fun for kids! Other well-known seaside resorts are St. Gilles Croix-de-Vie (18 km) and Les Sables d'Olonnes (47 km).
Attention golf lovers! The first 18-hole golf course is in St. Jean-de-Monts and there are four additional courses nearby! Would you rather relax? Thalasso therapy is also an option. A bakery, bike rental, supermarket, weekly market, post office and a discotheque in St. Jean-de-Monts.
Villa park Domaine de Vertmarines
Domaine de Vertmarines is on the edge of spacious St. Jean-de-Monts amidst lush woodlands. Both centre and beach are about 3,5 km away. The wide gate gives access to this gorgeous domaine that comprises a very neatly kept area of 6,5 ha with excellent facilities. The reception area has a wireless internet connection and in July/August you will find fresh croissants and baguettes here. Or would you rather indulge by using the breakfast service?
The villas of villa park Le Domaine de Vertmarines

Good house everything was right and it was clean Only the WiFi was bad

Accomodation was fine in itself, but the outdoor area was very uncomfortable and had little cushions in the chairs and too little sun protection.
Jeanet Van Daalen
However hard to find happy googlemaps thought it was a pity that you are missing Friday after 17 and Friday for 1p hour a day to my feeling

I went outside the school holidays, a lot of shops and restaurants are closed. Nevertheless it was a nice town and the Vendée is beautiful. The villa was good, the beds were not very comfortable.
Simon van der Wacht

It was a great week. Very nice pool, spacious garden. The kitchen was fully equipped. Shame about the old sofas in the living room. For the rest nothing to be desired.
J.m Brouwers
Beautiful cottage located and in good location. Furniture and kitchen have had to be replaced. Many ancient broken junk in the garage probably from old tenants, better throw it all away.
M.M.P. Voorjans
Neat house in a quiet little area. Near the coast where sufficient activity zijn.Airco and Wifi would increase pleasant comfort.

We certainly enjoyed the holiday with delicious zwembad.Wat down was the friendliness and service of the reception there. The additional costs and inexpensive outdoor furniture (broken table, old pillows, cheap seats, while all the best prize was a lastminute. Daily not shower enough hot water for 4 people. And the photo "s on the site give it a much better picture than reality again.

It is a park, but there is nothing to do. You are on your own in your own home which was no problem for us. Contrary to what we read in the reviews, the house did not look bad at all. Well, it was not just as clean everywhere, but we are currently working on it because our demands are high. So first brush. Everything was in the garage so when the chairs and sunbeds were outside it was complete. We had taken our bikes and it is about 3 km to the beach and boulevard. Stores are close. We have seen few Dutch people. A few Belgians, but the rest is still French. Staff in shops and restaurants very friendly and behulpzaam.Jammer was that people at the reception did not really speak English and did not do much effort.

Beautiful surroundings, house very pricey so expect a lot. Pool ok but house left to be desired. Obsolete.Number of things promised were not present. No WiFi, no sun-hatch, no garage. Also no friendly welcome, fairly hautain.Pets were also suddenly admitted despite otherwise mentioned

Arrival is business. Minus that was not ready for anything. So Linen was given from reception and was (therefore) not available in the cottage. You will be asked to indicate in a form that's all there and in what condition. This list was in some respects somewhat laughable (there is a table for example).

Lovely house, great pool with pool cover. Make sure you had the pool heats the first dagen.Heerlijke quiet week with perfect weather. You can fine cycling. The boulevard Saint Jean de Monts is really very well prepared. A feast for the eyes, walkers and cyclists. You can without paying also lose your car. The beach is beautiful and up to 150 meters wide at low tide. The artistically landscaped boulevard we can learn a lot in the Netherlands.
Mascha De Wildt
Beautifully landscaped park, old interior of the house. a bit far from the village, everything sneezes with cars and the roads were often fixed. Some noise from boilers and swimming pool pump which disturbs the night's rest.

Had great holiday, beautiful weather, nice house, nice pool. Saint-Jean-de-Monts is just very very touristy and busy, if you have experienced once you find your entertainment elsewhere.
A.M.F. Dröge
Well-groomed and neat house with well-fenced garden. Ideal if you bring a dog. Around the pool is a safety net placed so that small children can not just walk into the pool. The people at the reception speak good English and are very helpful! We were biting our purchased sunhats and forget that they (course fee) neatly sent to us! Class service!

Without a more beautiful and very spacious house, a large garden and a nice pool. The park exudes calm so if you like it ... The environment is varied and ranges from agricultural landscape through woods to the beach and sea which in many places are accessible from the road. The beaches and water are very clean. The reception is friendly and customizable. A separate bill for energy and water I think some go far.

Great location, lovely pool area around it. Seaside town is very touristy but that's to be expected along this place in France. Plenty nearby to explore and discover. Recommended for families with children.

The absence of wifi, the pay extra to have turn on your TV, the many niceties (with financial sanctions) to be signed, the brown / dead / bare garden, the villa was the first day among the ants and the costs for water and light which was to be settled afterwards ... certainly not worth repeating so.

Kindly received clear explanations. The accommodation was less. It is the third time we were here and this was the least nice property. That depends, of course, because the cottages are privately owned. Setting is great ocean is superb, great beach.

All you need for a peaceful holiday in the domain. Relaxation or action you need to look outside these walls seen on the estate itself has nothing (no square to play football or tennis, which is quite a pity).

The word "luxurious" can be dismissed. A lot of overdue maintenance (garden, swimming pool). Broken cheap crooked umbrella, a 6 person house with 4 dining room chairs and 2 wine glasses: (just a few examples. There is NO WiFi (you can use WiFi at the reception, but you have to stand outside) 4G very bad.
