Great holiday home in a superb location! This is how you would like to live privately as well... The house is very well equipped; only a kitchen scale would be great. Mixer, great kitchen appliances (Zanussi!) etc. and beautiful dishes in perfect condition are available. The WiFi invites you to take a break...not really suitable for home office. But that's not why you're there anyway. People - like me - over 6'2'' would appreciate a little "warning" on the 2nd beam from the bottom of the stairs - you have to duck your head. The broken chairs were replaced by the friendly gardener (yes, there is one too!). Very tasteful decor! The beds are great. Sufficient towels and more. Great garden, wonderful property. Very quiet location. Not exactly cheap - but worth its price. We would like to come back!

The old thatched roof house has been beautifully renovated, tastefully furnished and perfectly equipped. The kitchen is complete in every detail: Sufficient dishes, pots, pans, knives, other cooking utensils, and all necessary kitchen appliances are available! We enjoyed our stay very much and can highly recommend the house. Since the street is rarely (usually only by residents) and almost not traffic at night, the house is very quiet and is wonderfully suited for relaxation and walks along the dyke. Even our dog felt very comfortable!

Rich equipment, perfect for a relaxed holiday with or without a dog, excellent and prompt support from the landlord. We were there for the second time and will gladly come back.

Beautiful cottage with tasteful furnishings matching the style. You live below the wind-protected dyke. The road is rarely used and a small bench at the entrance invites you to linger. From here you can enjoy the sunset or experience the atmosphere of the wide country. Inside the house it is very cozy and well-maintained. High-quality wooden floors and carpets. Bathrooms very exclusive with a freestanding bathtub on the upper floor, kitchen of the latest standard. We felt completely comfortable. It was perfectly clean. You have to specify in advance which bedrooms should be made up, otherwise only one bedroom is prepared. There were also 2 bicycles available, although only one was usable. We will gladly come back.

Absolutely recommended. The only disadvantage is the very limited possibility for walking routes, which has already been mentioned in other reviews. You can either go left or right along the road. No circular route or anything. But otherwise absolutely top, especially on hot summer days.

Perhaps a little far from "the action", this holiday home offers that special something! Outside an old farmhouse, inside renovated and furnished with love and an eye for the essentials. Have breakfast on the terrace in the morning and enjoy the evening sun on the loungers in the garden - that's how a holiday should be. Everything is very clean and newly furnished. And in Oldenswort, about 7 km away, there is a bakery, a grocery shop (in the truest sense of the word) and a great butcher's shop. We will definitely be back!

We really enjoyed the autumn days in Eiderstedt. The beautiful house made it easy for us! After a walk along the dyke and a hot shower in the tasteful bathroom, ending the day in front of the stove was a treat. The house is beautifully furnished, very clean and the service by Mrs Volquardsen left nothing to be desired. Only the light situation is not optimal. But that may not matter in summer, when the days are long. ...And if there were still 2 small cooking pots, that would be nice. We would come again Volker and Brigitte Boehnke

First of all: We (2 couples) spent a nice week in the house. The house had everything you need for daily use. We could imagine booking the property again and would recommend it to everyone. If one wanted to make suggestions for improvement or criticism, then the following: 1.) In the bicycle storage room there were some full rubbish bags, which already spread a lot of smell. We wanted to dispose of them, but the rubbish bin was already full to the brim. 2.) One more towel / bath towel would have been nice. 3.) There was no information material about excursions, tips, etc. from the area. But as I said: This is complaining on a high level.

We felt very comfortable in this house. The owner has furnished it very tastefully. That's why it's noticeable that a lot of the furnishings are from Ikea. We found that a bit of a shame - also and especially because everything was so well coordinated. The individual pieces among the furniture were all extremely beautiful! It would certainly be good for sleep if some of the windows in the rooms were equipped with fly and mosquito screens. Then it would be possible to air the rooms without being disturbed by mosquitoes and flies during the night. So we would like to encourage that. Some of us would also have liked curtains in the bedrooms. Not everyone is used to sleeping in bright light - in summer, an early awakening is the consequence. Maybe curtains are possible without disturbing the open character of the house? Otherwise, everything is really great and the house has a very nice atmosphere. Many thanks for that!

We, family with dog, spent a relaxing week in this house. Nothing was missing. The kitchen is equipped with everything, including good knives! The entire house is very tastefully furnished, you just feel at home. The garden invites you to relax, be it in a beach chair, on deck chairs or on one of the benches around the house. Apart from the buzzing of the bees or the chirping of the birds, you don't hear much here... By bike (2 are even available!) you can reach the dyke in a few minutes. We know the area, but for holidaymakers visiting this region for the first time, some brochures and information material about the region would certainly be helpful. For a quiet, relaxing holiday, we can only recommend this house!

The flat is a dream, perfectly equipped, nothing is left to be desired...from tea maker to coffee maker and dishwasher. Beach chair and garden furniture round off the comfort. Everything is new and well maintained, including the garden. If you like it very quiet, this is the place for you. The only noises are those of the cows and sheep.

We felt very comfortable in this thatched house. The house is very tastefully furnished (compliments to the decorator) and technically up-to-date. The kitchen is well equipped: Hand mixer, food processor, casseroles and baking dishes etc... (a short instruction manual for the hot plate would be helpful). We had ordered two bicycles. This was unnecessary as there were even 2 bikes available (should have known). We were lucky with the weather and enjoyed the very beautiful, sheltered garden to the full. We will definitely come back again.

This is a great house property with outstanding facilities where we spent two very relaxing weeks. All in all, our expectations were fully met or exceeded. The living atmosphere is very cosy to luxurious. Most of the furniture is new or as good as new and some of the character furniture has a patina. It is simply fun to be allowed to live there. As for the location, you can spend very quiet hours both in the house and in the beautiful garden. However, you have to accept that - depending on the wind direction - it can smell very spicy like cattle for a longer period of time. Unfortunately, this sometimes crossed the line of unpleasantness.

We stayed in the house with our trade fair crew on the occasion of Husum Wind. A wonderful domicile directly behind the dyke. The house is excellently equipped - there is really nothing missing! With the lovely furnishings and the thatched roof, the house made us feel welcome and gave us a feeling of "coming home" and security......(the storm and rain outside on the dyke certainly did the rest). It would be helpful to mention the house number in the directions: especially in the dark, the house and the driveway can hardly be seen from the street. However, navigation devices reliably guide you to the right address. It is also interesting to know that mobile phone reception is not available with all networks in the house. Outside the house, it works with most providers.

We spent five relaxing days in this beautiful house with 4 children and a dog - everyone felt very comfortable. The house has been lovingly renovated to a high standard and is well equipped, even the kitchen knives are sharp! (The only thing we missed was a big pot - if you want to cook more than 500 g of spaghetti, you should take one with you). By the way, the Wi-Fi worked great.

We found everything immediately upon arrival and immediately felt at home. The house is tastefully, comfortably and functionally furnished. The peace and seclusion contribute to the relaxation. The holiday home is located on the Eiderstedt peninsula, almost 15 km from everywhere (shops, Husum, etc.). So the area can be explored very well. Denmark is also only a good hour's drive away. We had 10 days of very nice, warm weather. The holiday home with a thatched roof is very well equipped. Everything is really available. Only a slightly larger pot would be desirable. But apart from that, nothing is missing. The process was completely uncomplicated. We felt very comfortable in the house and in the surroundings.

Despite the road situation, a vehicle passes by here 1 time per hour, very quiet. Nearest neighbours 500m. Great facilities, seating a bit uncomfortable, but complaining on a high level. Everything available, from toaster to microwave and other appliances. For those who don't love nature, the nest of jackdaws in the fireplace screaming from 4am in the morning probably wouldn't have been so great, but it didn't bother us much. With a dog, the morning and evening rounds are rather boring, i.e. along the dyke road or you dare to go into the field. A toilet cleaner was missing, but that was all! We had a very good rest!

The weather was not very kind to us this time. So we particularly appreciated a cosy house with flair. In the living room, we moved the seating around a bit, which made it even cosier. We should think about the arrangement, there is still room for improvement. Otherwise, everything was exactly to our taste and we (and our dogs) felt very comfortable. A very pleasant place to relax and enjoy and a good base for great excursions to the beautiful Eiderstedt peninsula again and again.

The cleanliness was very good, but a toilet seat that is not yellow from the urine deposits would be desirable. Such utensils probably need to be replaced more often. Likewise the toilet brush!!! A holiday home that is designed for 6 people should also have a corresponding number of garden chairs, only 3 chairs are simply too few! The benches in the garden are in need of renovation and are also dirty and would be much too heavy to transport! The kitchen lacks a soup ladle and I also missed a potato masher. Those who depend on a reliable internet connection are unfortunately out of luck. Internet is often not available, but that's not the landlord's fault. The floorboards are a dream!!!! The dining table is not.

The house is visually very beautiful from the outside as well as from the inside. However, the secluded location is not quite so quiet, as there is a road directly behind the house. Since we had wonderful summer weather, the harvest was in full swing, so the noise of tractors continued all day and into the night. When the window is closed, however, it is very quiet. The equipment is very good, especially in the kitchen I didn't miss anything. Unfortunately, there is a big minus point for the cleanliness, because the pillows, decorative pillows and also the toilet were in an unacceptable condition. If this is improved, we will be happy to come back to Haus Achter de Diek.

A great house with very nice furnishings in the middle of the Eiderstadt peninsula, ideal for bicycle tours and excursions to towns worth seeing such as Husum or Friedrichsstadt. The drive to the beautiful beaches of St. Peter Ording takes about 30 minutes by car - so this is not a place for a predominantly beach holiday.

It was our second holiday in Achter de Diek and that already shows that we felt very comfortable there. The house has everything you need for a holiday, the garden is so sheltered that you can sit there comfortably even when it's windy, it's very quiet there and even the nightly mowing didn't disturb us in any way. Our dog also loves this house.

We, three adults plus dog, spent two weeks at Achter de Diek at the end of September - beginning of October. A very beautiful old thatched house, which has been renovated very carefully and to a high standard. There is nothing to complain about in the two bathrooms - except, as almost everywhere, too few hooks. The floorboards in almost the entire house are not only a visual delight, but also pleasantly warm thanks to the underfloor heating. However, the heating first had to be brought up to speed. The team of Ferien an der Nordsee took care of it in an exemplary manner. The kitchen is also very nice, there is plenty of crockery, but for more than three or four people the pots and pans might be in short supply. There is a masher, but no simple potato masher and no soup ladle, but sharp knives. We slept very well in the beds/on the mattresses. Dog owners should be aware that morning or evening walks are only possible along the road or in the side street (dead end). In addition, the property facing the street (driveway and stairs) is not secured. At least a door on the stairs would be helpful. Despite the small inconveniences, we were overall very satisfied with the house and would book it again.

We had cosy days in the house. It is very tastefully furnished, very nice floorboards, doors and stone tiles. There was nothing missing in the kitchen. At the beginning it was quite fresh in the house, but already the next day it was cosy and warm with the underfloor heating. To activate the tiled stove, we bought wood once. It draws very well and makes it even cosier. A beautiful cottage with atmosphere. Highly recommended.
