Location is in the municipality of Bagni Lucca, the cottage is in Lucchio, the village is called Zato (important for the intersection on the way up) a lot further and well on top of a mountain. Once upon a time, the view is breathtaking. Tip do before shopping because the descent takes up a lot of time and shops are a little further away. An oasis of calm and nature !! The sheep cheese that is available for sale is delicious!

I got together with my girlfriend, 10 days in the cave house in the little licorice Zato doorgebracht.Een beautiful green area with a wide range of flora and fauna (boars, snakes, deer, rodents) prachtig.Op an hour's drive from Lucca, Florence this property is a perfect combination of peace and culture. Itself, we both love cycling, and here we could all directions, nice and steep mountain passes, or what flatter roads along the river. Rounds of 2.3 but certainly four hours plus were beautiful and challenging. The hospitality of the family was extraordinary.

We chose this location as a base to explore the area. Lucca When we seemed to be, we still had miles long on a narrow road full of hairpin high wind through the mountains to come. Finally a few unsightly houses Gritty, rough stones, semi-rotten shutters. Not exactly an idyllic spot. There was a small parking lot where we just drop the car to the village continued to walk. The road was too narrow for a car. Around us barking dogs, we did not see them, but I was terrified. There was nobody to see. The houses seemed empty and my eyes were uninhabitable. After a phone call the owner came with his son. After a very warm welcome from the charming gentlemen we felt a lot better. The apartment that we had rented was nicely renovated. It is held in the old style, but the bed and bathroom facilities to meet the modern requirements of today. The kitchen is dark but cozy. On the kitchen table a basket of goodies was as welcome. The house has everything you need and from this location it is fine to use. Kinds of fun outings Good to drive eg Lucca or Pisa.

The mountain roads to the cottage were not far off unnerving, though the way for the residents as the most natural thing in the world. To help you find the way, our friendly host was waiting for us at the exit down the mountain. After a climb of 15 minutes up the mountain by car, we were surprised by a lovely cottage, built of ancient stone. Inside you will find fragments of a mural from the 14th century. We got a bottle of wine, coffee and some supplies on arrival and were able to enjoy our cottage in the hamlet of Zato. The village has about 10 very friendly people and a real village square. When the neighbors you can buy delicious pecorino (Italian sheep cheese), originating from the flock of sheep grazing in the immediate vicinity. The only downside was that we had the first night charge of a dog barking. But the next day the problem was solved and it was a lovely quiet area to relax. Via a footpath you the medieval village Lucchio (the oldest houses date from the year 1000 and the village is inhabited mostly just yet) reached in about 20 minutes. We had a perfect stay in the cozy house in Zato. An apartment with an authentic Tuscan atmosphere characteristic details and rustic finish. The area is particularly suitable for walkers and tranquility we have enjoyed! Thirties two Bagni di Lucca is good pizza cozy on the bridge. La bella Italia!

Peace and nature's fine! The cottage is nice but simply furnished. (We just loved.) There is no heating except the fireplace, and a small electric heater for the bathroom. Slippers with you when you are watching the cold. Besides, we'd rented this house through natuurhuijsje.nl, but were warmly greeted by the owner.
