Vanuit Genua zijn wij met het OV naar Castello Pinelli Gentile gereisd en bij gebrek aan een taxi vanuit treinstation van Ovada heeft onze host Luca ons van het station opgehaald en ook weer weggebracht dus dat is zeer Gentile van hem. Bij het kasteel is het alsof je een mooi sprookje instapt en het verblijf is ook in de vleugel van het kasteel en zeer pittoresk en schoon waar het moet. Niet zeer toegankelijk voor mensen die moeilijk lopen, maar logisch bij zo'n eeuwenoude locatie. Met mijn vrouw erg genoten van de ruime opzet van het appartement en op een uil of koekkoek na, heel stil en rustig. Goed slapen in lekker bed. Tuin is privé voor gasten met bbq, tafeltennis en eettafel. Af en toe loopt er een toerist brutaal de tuin die daar per ongeluk terechtkomt. Geen issue maar gebeurde wel 3x. Dagelijks mooie tochten gemaakt met emtb die wij gehuurd hebben en goede service ervaren. De pasticciaria die wij op aanraden van Luc bezochten op 5 min fietsen is een pareltje. Super lekker en handgemaakt! Echt een aanrader!

We are in Italy! In Piedmont! Here, life in a castle is still down-to-earth and grounded. The apartment is very cozy, very functional. Living room, large kitchen with enough space and good seating for eating - everything is there: dishes, cutlery, glasses, cooking utensils. Two sleeping rooms, a bit cramped, okay, it is a castle with origins from 970 AD - the shower room is small, but clean, offering a toilet, washbasin, and shower - need more? The garden can be shared, also for personal BBQs, etc. Particularly appealing: enjoying the sunrises from the bedroom and the great carillon at 08:00. Outstanding is the Marchese. The castle has been in family ownership for 500 years, uninterrupted. Even today, he himself produces wines, makes a very tasty Spumante Brut - also in rosé, and he is extremely friendly, helpful, and simply lovable. Thank you very much, we will come back, Piedmont has so much more to offer. And always remember when booking: we are in Italy, the clocks tick differently here :-)

Beautiful house on the property that belongs to the castle. Very welcoming reception by the owner, family and staff. At the house we had rented has a large garden, where we (and the dog) could use. Tour of the castle and the wine cellar with a closing wine tasting, provided by the owner himself. Fine stay if you like a quiet holiday and to explore the area (with the car or road bike / mountain) The cities of Genoa and Turin are 45 and 75 minutes.

Very good and friendly welcome with wine from the castle. We noticed that there were no espresso cups and we had drunk our coffee from a tea beaker. That same afternoon there were espresso cups. The owner had a tour in the castle and of course visited the wine cellars and tasted. Nice base to explore the area.

Tagliolo Monferrato was a special experience. The castle itself is truly fairytale, the Gentile apartment of high quality and the garden an experience apart, thanks to its beautiful view and the shady trees. Genoa is three-quarter drive and a very special city. The nearby Parco Naturale had good hiking trails.

We enjoyed our two week stay at Casa Gentile. Host Markies Luca Pinelli Gentile welcomed us most sincerely and during our stay Sarah, this summer's host, was always available for any questions (and purchasing wine) .The apartment is charmingly decorated and kept the cool walls cool while the temperature Outside quite properly. Casa Gentile is located directly on the large garden that can be used by all apartments. It is a huge garden with large linden trees, various terraces and a hammock, at least enough space. During our stay, this garden was used for two wednesday weddings. On the Saturday of our arrival, a disco party was held at 2200, the Markies informed us in advance that he offered us another apartment or wanted to arrange a night for us. We have struck this because we survive an Italian wedding party. We had a nice party, but we did not disturb ourselves (and a bottle of Spumante from the house emptied). On the second Saturday a dinner for 180 people was held in this garden. The construction started before, so you have to come along as a guest when you use the garden. The evening itself we were eating in Ovada and finally we saw the tail of dinner from a small terrace in the backyard. If you do not want to encounter this kind of thing during your vacation, then you can rent another apartment. We did not disturb ourselves. What's very nice is that the Markies arranges with the wedding couple that guests of the apartments can join the wedding aperitivo.
