This guesthouse is hidden in Borgo Tagliolo, which is perfect for business trips like mine. I found the atmosphere calming and it was easy to focus on projects in the cozy living room. Additionally, the access to bicycles made exploring between tasks easy.

I stayed for a month in Castagnola while I worked remotely, and it was great. The view of the vineyards from my window made the long hours much easier. I also enjoyed cycling in the area during breaks. The local wine tasting offered by the family added a nice touch to my evenings.

We had a wonderful week in Castagnola. The apartment and the area around it are very dog friendly (we loved the dog paintings!) and have a great atmosphere. The castle is beautiful. To get the most out of it, it is absolutely recommended to take the guided tour, the wine tasting, and a meal from Gianna.

Fantastic quiet location and beautiful accommodation, personal and friendly approach to a non very touristic place (they still exist in Italy!) With other enough possibilities in the vicinity. Delicious wijn.Wij will definitely go back.

Beautiful, ancient castle where wine is still made and sold. A wine tasting and tour of the castle belongs to the possibilities. Nice base for trips to Mediterranean, Cinque Terre, and places like Acqui Terme, Alba and Asti. Wifi available, adequate space, beautiful surroundings. Marquis Lucca Pinelli Gentile is a very nice host who speaks excellent English. It was a very nice stay.

The apartment at the Borgo was large with a fully equipped kitchen. There are nice garden chairs and a hammock in the shared garden. Table tennis table has had better times. Reception was very warm. Guided tour of the owner in the castle with a wine tasting as conclusion. In the village there is only a bakery and a café. Unfortunately no restaurant.

Unique and beautiful location. Apartment is part of being in use castle. Very atmospheric. Comfort of home is less no air conditioning (at high ambient actually necessary) and unstable hot water. Other aspects, however, make this apartment an absolute must!

What a beautiful castle in full use yet. Maintained and run by Marquis Luca. When we were there it was harvest time, so we could be made quite follow how the wines of the castle. And then of course a delicious tasting. Good to use as a base to explore the surrounding area such as Barolo, Barbaresco, but also eg Cinque Terre (1.5 hours).

End of October a week spent in la Castagnola, a four-person apartment in an old house (Borgo) right next to the castle. No luxury but beautiful history and yet all the conveniences. Good bathroom, spacious bedrooms and living room with separate kitchen. Well level, both inside and outside, is not suitable for people who are hard at work. The tour of wine tasting in the castle is highly recommended! The markies are very-very welcoming and helpful, if anything is just ask! Unfortunately, the pizzeria in the village has recently closed but there are plenty of good restaurants in the immediate area. Well a bakery, supermarket, drugstore and cafe within walking distance. Beautiful garden with table tennis and barbecue. Highly recommended unless you go luxury for five stars.

Beautiful atmospheric and peaceful location, it is beautiful green, peaceful and above all very friendly staff who are ready at any time for the guests without formal hassle as if you are part of the residents of the Borgo. I have had wonderful rest and also worked in an environment full of inspiration positive energy.
