This charming chateau in France boasts a beautiful view of the Grand Colombier. There is a shared swimming pool and there are 2 bedrooms that can jointly accommodate 7 guests. This option is ideal for families.
Start the morning with a healthy walk in the forest, which is about 100 m from the accommodation. You can get a nice breakfast at the supermarket 1 km away and there is a nice restaurant also 1 km from the residence.
The accommodation is equipped with a bathroom including a shower and a toilet. If you don't want to eat out for an evening, you can prepare a delicious dinner yourself in the kitchen. The garden is furnished with attractive garden furniture and, like the courtyard, is shared with other guests.
The nearest bus stop is 9 km from the property.
The washing machine and dryer are available from Wednesday to Saturday. The washing and drying machine cannot be used outside these days.

However, the apartment is dated with very old kitchen and bathroom (90s?). Old top and kitchen cabinets, cracks, rotten joints, etc. Also mold on the walls, and rust in the bathroom. Also loose mice. So really time for an upgrade of the interior.

Very friendly and helpful manager, Frank, who went out of his way to help with local information, etc. Only quibble is with the extra fees for bedding, cleaning, and electricity? This totalled over 200 Euros for 1 week for 2 adults and 2 children. This seemed excessive.

The Grand Salon was better looking inside than we expected. The manager Frank became part of our family during the stay, he is so funny and was always around to help. I'll always treasure the memory of the castle and our mini family reunion since we rented 3 of the apartments in all. It was near my sister's wedding.

The garden is beautiful, but the cheap plastic garden furniture really can't. It really detracts from the whole and is also far from comfortable. The castle is beautiful from the outside, but inside a lot of overdue maintenance. Just to name a few: the heating in the bathroom is almost falling apart from the rust. The kitchen top is torn and therefore not hygienic, the kitchen floor looks dirty and the refrigerator is missing at least two shelves. The glassware has been gathered together and incomplete. The castle itself is a Belvilla, but the rest, including the swimming pool, is not worthy of the Belvilla designation.

We had a very nice long weekend at the Grande Salon of the Chateau La Peyrouse, with three couples. The salon is magnificent, there are 2 good sleeping rooms + a small one. The kitchen is a bit small, but has enough fridge space and really everything you may now need. Outside of the castle there is a nice and usable area. Frank is the most friendly "ghost" of the castle. The landscape with Lac de Bourget is really worth a trip. Don "t forget to enjoy the overwhelming view from the restaurant Belvedere lake some 10 km away.

The castle grounds were stunning. The pool, garden areas and our terrace were perfect to relax around. The apartment was not clean. There were spider webs and spiders. The worst were the ants all over the kitchen. It was impossible to make any food in there and keep it hygienic. The staff were unhelpful and not understanding to deal with this.

It is a beautiful large apartment in Lapeyrouse Castle. The location is beautiful and the reception and communication is very good. The kitchen and bathroom are in need of renovation, but are adequate. You really think you are lord of the castle
