Overall assessment

Beautiful rural house, with lots of space. The house needs some maintenance. The beds were good. Lots of space for 13 people, especially with the four bathrooms. The kitchen is a bit on the small side to cook for 13 people, although the kitchen was well equipped with pans and kitchen utensils. All in all we had a pleasant stay.

We stayed here in July 2023. I would say that this is someone's holiday house which they let out on the side, rather than a purpose run holiday let. This has pros and cons! Exterior: A beautiful house, and very well positioned for exploring the D-Day sites, Bayeux, etc. Huge supermarkets 20 minutes each direction in Bayeux and St Lo. The house is right next to a D road but it's pretty quiet. Surrounding the house is a huge grass field/garden. At the front they've recently installed gates, but the hedge next to them hasn't grown up. This means that the garden is not contained, and children need fairly close supervision outside. Nice patio/BBQ area. Living space: Nice big comfy sitting room, tastefully decorated. A second sitting room area with games etc. A really big dining table, this was a big positive for us as a family group. The kitchen is not huge, but fine for breakfasts in shifts. It is very well supplied with equipment. Possibly too well supplied really, more countertop would be better. Utilities: Washer/drier in the garage, and an extra fridge. Bedrooms: Upstairs there is a double with a large bed, a double with a separate sofa bed area, a shared bathroom and shared loo. Also a suite with a narrow double room, a small ensuite, and a kids' bedroom with 2x2 trundles, i.e. four beds. The kids trundles were a great idea, this was a lovely room. Downstairs there is a double with a large bed next to a shower room, and an ensuite double with a narrow and short bed. Pros: Great location, works well for a big family group with the lovely big dining table and two living areas. For example, can have a designated kids area. Nice big outside space. Well stocked kitchen and utilities. Cons: Two of the double beds are really quite small, and these are in the en-suite rooms, which makes no sense. We ended up putting kids in one of the rooms, whilst grandparents would have liked an ensuite. We had some issues with showers flooding. The bathrooms were dated. Suggestions: A welcome guide book with useful information. (E.g. the bottle bank in Berigny is very hard to find. The tumble drier is not plumbed and the container needs to be emptied regularly). Replace the two small/narrow doubles as a matter of priority, people want to sleep well on holiday. It was a pain arranging to meet the letting agent at arrival/departure. There is a key safe, I think it would be fine to give visitors the code, and the agent could come later to check everything is ok? Overall, we had a really good holiday, but good to book knowing what the potential issues are.

We have rented this house for 3 weeks. Our 'group' consisted of 3 adults and a cat. A week before departure we were called by the manager with the question whether we would indeed come with 3 adults (this was also checked a number of times if we were not present) The evening before departure we received a WhatsApp asking what time we would be On the day of arrival, the request came to send a WhatsApp to the manager an hour before arrival. After we had done this (we would arrive at exactly the same time as previously communicated), we received a message fifteen minutes before arrival with the message that no one would be present due to crowds. We could find the key in a key box. Furthermore, nothing has been communicated in any way about our stay, neither personally nor via info folder. For example, we did not manage to wash the washing machine cold (water supply was hot water) or to turn on the heating during the last very cold week. The next day we found out that there was 10 cm of dirty water in the pool. When asked when the pool would be cleaned and filled, we got the answer. that it would not be filled (regulation due to the long-lasting drought) and if we did it ourselves, we risked a fine. A setback since we had selected this house just for the pool. On arrival, the three available garbage containers were full and there were also 3 garbage bags next to it. These have been there for 2 weeks. Further impression of the house is below average and certainly does not deserve the title exclusive. First of all, I would not know where 16 pers. could stay (both inside and outside) The beds are so small that we (between 1.80m - 2.05m) each had to sleep in a double bed.The house is about 10-15 meters from a busy 90km away, so you especially in the bedrooms located at the front from 5 am to 11 pm experience a lot of noise nuisance
