In a beautiful grand setting, in the middle of a quiet French farming valley, you will find holiday home 'Le Moulin du Saon'. The house was completely renovated in early 2023 with attention to old details to preserve its cosy atmosphere.
The house, suitable for 8 people, has a large (fenced) garden with an open view along which a river flows. The adjacent building is the old water mill and now serves as a barn. Outside is a large picnic table and the BBQ can also be used.
On the ground floor you will find a spacious living room, bathroom with walk-in shower and a fitted kitchen with dishwasher, microwave oven and fridge/freezer, among other things. On the first floor are five bedrooms, of which two master bedrooms with a double bed, two rooms with a single bed and one room with two single beds. There is also an extra toilet upstairs. Optionally, as a 9th person, a child of 0-2 years old can come along for which a camp bed is available (please let us know when booking).
One set of towels and bed linen per person is included in the rental price. There are also various facilities available in the house, such as a flat-screen Smart TV, washing machine, ironing facilities, hairdryer, coffee machine, tea kettle, toaster, baguette case, hoover, cleaning utensils, board games and a few small outdoor games. The house is equipped with an air-to-air heat pump that can be used to both heat and cool the house. Almost every room in the house has its own thermostat that can be set in terms of temperature as desired.
Upon arrival at the house, various 'start' basics are provided, think toilet paper, kitchen paper, coffee filters, coffee/tea, salt/pepper, washing-up liquid, hand soap, etc.
Parking is available at the house and there is also the possibility of charging an electric car (at extra cost, please contact us).

The garden is fenced, the stairs have stair gates and there are childproof sockets. Furthermore, a camp bed, high chair, changing mat, baby bath and toilet changing facilities are available on request.

Location and surroundings of object
The house is located in the village of Saon in the Calvados region of Normandy.
The Normandy region offers many opportunities to discover the beautiful surroundings. A beautiful area for walking, cycling, mountain biking and hiking. You can also go horse riding, climbing and/or do a paragliding adventure (Suisse Normande), for example. Not far from Saon, only 10 km away, is a national park and in less than fifteen minutes' drive you are already at the beach or in the cosy city of Bayeux with its many sights. In short, no shortage of varied nature and activities!
Tip: on your way to an activity or attraction, take the shortcuts for beautiful views and picturesque villages!

The Normandy region is not only cool for its scenery, but also for its rich history. To many, therefore, this region is known for what took place during World War II. There are many museums and monuments to visit in the area and don't forget to visit the landing beaches and the American cemetery!

- Free cancellation option until 90 days before the day of arrival.
- Cancellation by the hirer must always be made in writing by e-mail. The following conditions apply: - If cancelled up to 90 days before the day of arrival, 0% of the rent is due. The full amount will be refunded to you. - If cancelled up to 60 days before the date of arrival, 25% of the rent is due. The remaining amount will be refunded to you. - If cancelled up to 30 days before the day of arrival, 50% of the rent is due. The remaining amount will be refunded to you. - For cancellation from 30 days up to the day of arrival, 100% of the rent is due. There will be no refund. - If you have not arrived within 24 hours of the agreed date without further notice, this is considered a cancellation and 100% of the rental fee is due. No refund will take place. - In case of cancellation by us, any amount already paid to us will be fully refunded to you. However, we are not liable to refund any fees you may have paid to a third party in connection with your holiday (including, without limitation: fees for travel, entertainment, activities or insurance).

We are Dennis and Rèzlin and live in the Netherlands with our little son Sven. In 2021, this beautiful house with its barns came our way. It once served as the water mill of the French village of Saon. We fell in love with the house and its surroundings! Le Moulin (The Mill) is located in the region of Normandy, France, which, in terms of history, totally suits our interest in World War II. September 2022 we made the move and received the key, after which we started renovating in spring 2023. It brought challenge to renovate everything, but we succeeded! We will leave the barns on the property for now, but hope to renovate them in full glory in the future as well. Just as it is our dream to eventually make 'the mill' work again!
