If you want a peaceful and quiet time, this is the place. The actual garden, pool and house are even better than shown in the pictures. The garden is westbound. This means you will always get a nice evening on the outside terrace and pool area. The kitchen has everything you need. The beds are cosy. At night, you do not hear anything but perhaps the little river nearby. There is a BBQ, and Pingpong table, a basketball hoop. Apart from the simply massive garden. Not to mention the great pool. The grounds you have access to cover roughly 7,000 m². A car is a must-have. The next supermarket is indeed around 10 minutes away, but has everything. Bottom line, if you want a peaceful and quiet hideaway where one week gives you the rest and rejuvenation of two, this is the place.

Very friendly welcome by the owners. Had a tour around the house, after which they left. You quickly get used to having your own swimming pool, what a wonderful thing. The garden is very large, with a babbling brook at the very back. And furthermore... it is quiet. Very very quiet. So you have to like that (we do). In the village itself there are no bars, cafes, terraces or shops, so you have to drive about 8 km to the bakery or supermarket (of which there are plenty in Pithiviers: E. Leclerc, Carrefour, Lidl and Aldi) . Lidl also has a power charger for those who drive electrically.
The restaurant "Aux bon Vivres" in Yèvre-le-châtel is also highly recommended. Not open every day, check the website in advance. The Fort is nice to walk around and there is a remains of a church. And it was. We came for peace and quiet and we definitely found it.
As for the house itself:
Tidy and ready. Everything you need for a week's holiday is available. The kitchen cupboards and drawers could use some soapy water, and we took quite a few items (cutlery, glasses, bowls) out of the cupboard that were dirty on the first day. But, you turn on the dishwasher, grab your drink and your book by the pool, and it solves itself. This may have been due to the previous tenants, and is not representative of the rest of the house.
The bed was new and we slept wonderfully! A bed in a house in France... can sometimes be disappointing, but this was a wonderful night's sleep on a new "Emma" mattress.
All in all: if you like peace and quiet (and your own swimming pool), then this house is highly recommended.
Finally: Google Maps makes you stop at the wrong house. Drive a little further (even if the street name changes).

The pool was an attraction, especially since we could heat it to 26 degrees – perfect for lazy summer days. The area is very quiet, with beautiful hiking trails nearby. We even took a day trip to the Forteresse Médiévale de Yèvre-le-Châtel, which was fascinating. The only downside was watching the kids by the pool, but overall it was a fantastic place to relax. I highly recommend it!

In the morning it seemed as if an adult man was shouting in the beautiful vegetable garden behind the house, however, after further investigation, this turned out to be a fox that felt just a little too comfortable. the castle and the many churches not much to do and for a restaurant you unfortunately also just have to get in the car.So if you want to completely isolate yourself, this is a perfect location. I do not recommend this location.
