Discover this beautiful air-conditioned holiday home with private pool, located on the outskirts of the pretty village of Olonzac, 1 km from the banks of the Canal du Midi. It is ideal for families or friends.
Located between the village and the vineyards, this very modern loft is in a beautifully restored former barn. The thick stone walls keep it cool indoors and the refined decoration is admirable.
Olonzac, the capital of Minervois, is a very pretty village located on the edge of the Aude department, between the Canal du Midi and the village of Minerve, about 30 km from Narbonne and Carcassonne with its medieval centre. The region offers delicious wines and nice places with narrow streets and cosy terraces. Hire a boat for a trip on the Canal du Midi or have a picnic at Lake Jouarrès, 7 km away. The residence is just half an hour from the Mediterranean beaches and an hour from the Spanish border.
In the bright living room, the fireplace, which seems to float in space, points to the steel staircase. The back wall is glass and opens to the terrace and the beautiful swimming pool with counter-current. A unique location and an exceptional house: in short, highly recommended!

Overall assessment

The lovingly restored and designed holiday home is located on the outskirts of the town of Olonzac. The "centre" and three surrounding bakeries can be reached on foot in 3-7 minutes. The house is big and the kitchen is well equipped for cooking. The pool is great for cooling off after a day out. However, you should use mosquito repellent. All around there is a lot of culture to discover. The towns of Minerve, Carcassonne, Narbonne and Lagrasse can all be reached in a maximum of 45 minutes by car and are all equally worth seeing. The rubbish (sorted into glass, plastic & paper (together!) and residual waste) is disposed of in containers in the small square. There is a small code card in the house to unlock the residual waste container. Parking in front of the house was too tight for us, but we always found a space in the neighboring streets. There is even a large car park with 120 spaces around the corner. You have to walk a few minutes, but that's not so bad. When we had questions, the owner and the housekeeper helped us very nicely. We are happy to recommend the house!

Beautiful loft. Very spacious and very artistically decorated. Kitchen is very well equipped. Both bedrooms have separate air conditioning, very nice in a hot summer. And both bedrooms have their own private toilet and a separate shower in the bedroom. Patio is small but nice with a fresh pool. Patio can be well protected with a floating parasol. Parking in the street itself is possible, it is a tight street. We discussed with the neighbors where we could park the car best. The only downside was: when we left we wanted to throw away the waste and we needed a pass for that, but we didn't come across one. We were only able to dispose of the waste in a container in Homps.

Good directions for check in. Beautiful holiday home. Heated swimming pool. Temperature was close to our arrival in high summer. Was between 23 and 24 degrees on our arrival. At the end of a super warm week 25.5 degrees.

The loft was great. Great little sleepy place (don't miss the Tuesday market). Interesting surroundings (Carcassonne, Menerve, Narbonne, Montpellier, Mediterranean). The beautiful pool had a constant, cooling 24 degrees at up to hot 40°C outside temperature. There are three independently adjustable air conditioners on the upper floor, three showers and three toilets distributed throughout the house. The kitchen offers almost everything you need (unfortunately there is only one portafilter coffee machine). The house also has other great equipment (dishwasher, 2 refrigerators (we only used one for drinks), a freezer, washing machine, drying rack, iron with ironing board, glass ceramic stove and oven, extractor hood, Smart TV with Netflix (own access data required) , free WiFi, private pool). The contact with the owner and the responsible person on site was easy, very friendly and super fast (via WhatsApp and email). Thanks very much! This was a dream vacation!
