July 2008Het house was beautifully situated in a rural area. The decor looks authentic, but fully equipped. The roof in the bread oven was comfortable. Truly a place for you to come.

It is a really beautiful house / garden in a beautiful setting. However, the house does have a number of bottlenecks from an ergonomic point of view. For example, on the ground floor (passage to the toilet and the downstairs bedroom) there are high thresholds (higher than those of a stair step). The fall risk is therefore high (especially if you are older with the associated reduced mobility). This aspect certainly applies to the bathroom. This is not equipped with a separate shower. You have to shower standing in the bath (very high entry). Presents a high risk of slipping. There are no brackets on the wall to hold on to. Finally: the lesser reception. We planned to arrive around 4pm. Due to many road works (traffic jams) on the way and an accident, a lot of time was lost. In addition, we had planned to do some shopping just before arrival (long Whitsun weekend). Belvilla indicates that a later arrival (in this case due to force majeure!) would also be resolved in consultation with the landlord. During telephone consultation with the landlady, however, this turned out not to be the case (we were around 6 p.m. - the usually latest arrival time - in Aurillac, half an hour's drive from the gites). My request to arrive at 7.30 pm (to be able to do some necessary shopping) was rejected without any understanding of the situation. We had to drive straight on, in order to be at the gites at 6.30 pm. The words of the lady: this is stated in the contract with Belvilla and contract is contract .. Nice downer if you have traveled 14 hours.

very nice and kept holiday, friendly owner, in a very green and quiet surroundings. Ideal for nature lovers and peace seekers. The house is literally on the edge of the forest, and is ideal for start of walks. Calvinet is less well located for cultural trips, the most beautiful places are located at the height of Aurillac or the department of Lot, which is something more trips by car are required. Not always ideal with small children.

The house in Calvinet was excellent: it was very clean, spacious, and quiet; in addition, it was fully equipped, from a dishwasher to garden chairs. In short: a very nice house for people who love the Auvergne!

Excellent accommodation. Neat and complete. Occasionally, electricity goes out, but is quickly resolved. Friendly welcome and very quiet environment. Peace and space outside the high season. Beautiful surroundings. 3/4 hour drive to a town with several shops. Near only small supermarket.
