Beautiful house in a very quiet area and a very friendly landlady!

Idyllic & comfortable house in small mountain village. A very well kept house: clean, everything you need is there, tastefully decorated. Nice roof terrace and nice small garden. At night you sleep well because it cools down well at this altitude, and it is quiet…Beautiful walks and MTB routes from home. Lots to do in the area. We really enjoy it here!

Fine. Quiet, not touristy and enough variety in options to make the holiday enjoyable.

The house is excellent and fully equipped and the owner is a treasure. It is located in a very small village. The village itself is very remote. The nearest supermarket is in Graus, 37 km away .... There is a bakery in Tolva, 10 km away (Panaderia de Tolva). There are surprisingly few tourists in the area. That is amazing because there is a lot to see, both in the field of nature and in the field of history (old villages). In Tolva, a 37-minute hike starts that largely runs along a stream and ends in a narrow canyon, which is truly idyllic. Beautiful butterflies, beautiful nature and no tourists. In that sense it seems to be a forgotten area. A half hour drive is a reservoir (Embalse de Barasona-Joaquín Costa), with pleasant warm water, where you can swim. At Alberg de Montfalco a spectacular walk begins along a another reservoir and partly over a wooden path / stairs attached to a vertical rock wall. Not for people with fear of heights and not for small children. To get to the Alberg from Catigaleu you have to be the last 15 km unpaved road ..... Is good to do with a rifle car, provided you do not drive too fast. There are many more walks and there is a lot of info in the house. Castigaleu is located at 800 m altitude and therefore it is reasonable to keep out at night. For most walks it is better to make them early in the morning. Then it is simply too hot. There are not many special walks to go from Castigaleu.

The reception was perfect. Friendly lady who speaks perfect French. The house is very good. Nice terrace and garden. Well equipped kitchen. It is a beautiful area where you can make beautiful walks and canoe trips in the beautiful gorge which is nearby. The only drawback is that there is no shop or bar in the area. The nearest bakery is located at 12km and that was still closed. The drive to the nearest town with bars and restaurants is Graus (45 minutes drive).

A fantastic house in a non-touristy part of the Pyrenees. We were given a very warm welcome with a nice cava and a homemade cake. The owner was seen very kind and showed us the house and told a lot about the area. The house was really beautiful, old-style and completely restored. Very well equipped absolutely everything was present. Good beds, plenty of space, excellent plumbing and everything was really super clean. The house is beautifully decorated with great attention. I can not possibly mention disadvantages with regard to the location you should have no problem which continue to drive for groceries. The setting is authentic Spanish, beautiful villages and nature. We have enjoyed very much.

Beautiful holiday home from which much is to be taken. Is somewhat secluded (and quiet) bakery and grocery store are not exactly next door.

Wonderful start of our two weeks in the Pyrenees. Nice setting, nice places nearby and beautiful nature. Quiet village, dead quiet village! Very welcoming and helpful reception. It was like we were staying at the hostess.

Very cozy and comfortable village. The kitchen is well equipped and the house with taste ingericht.Net terrace with ample furniture. Since the village has no pub or shop, it is extremely rustig.Enig negative was the odor of the nearby pig farm.

A lovely house in a small Spanish village (about 120 inhabitants). Enjoyed the shepherd with 400 sheep every night of the mountain to the village came walking. Good base for trips to pretty villages, nature reserves and cities.
Bart Vander Velpen
A nice house in a picturesque authentic Spanish village. A great base to explore the Pyrenees and a quiet place to sit out and unwind. We also appreciate the hospitality of the owner. We received regular vegetables from the garden of her parents and on arrival we could enjoy a welcome drink. Awesome!

We have been celebrating an enjoyable stay had in Castigaleu. The receipt by mrs. Cruz was warmly. The cottage is cozy and it's clean. In short, you can have a great one week stay. With all his house stairs seems a bit like a drive-in-residence in the Netherlands as we know. For a family with small children it is less suitable house. The only downside we found the garden furniture. There is no chair to sit comfortably in idle. Nevertheless, the cottage is a must.

The "Welcome to our arrival was very friendly. Villagers (+ / - 100 people) too.'s Mother the owner came to bring us vegetables from his garden. The house was very nice and well equipped. There was a lot of documentation on walks and sites to visit. The garden and terrace are very nice. quiet village. The only downside is that c "is a little far (+ / - 70 to 80 km) of walks in the high Pyrenees and our teens, few young people in the village, but they have still met 2. We will retain fond memories!

We (family with two children aged 8 and 10) stayed here in August 2009 an enjoyable time. The receipt of the caretaker what warmly. She took plenty of time to show us the house and give us suggestions about trips to give. You live here in a small village between the Spaniards. This was for our daughter not prevent the local children to play, for communication using hands and voeten.Het house is fully equipped (including dishwasher, is not in the description). The area is very nice. The geological trail in the valley of the Rio Isabena is very nice. Also, the trip to the Congost the Montberrei recommended. There is also a swim in the various reservoirs.

We found our stay at Casa Vella super. The very friendly and welcoming with extensive tour and glass of Spanish wine and nuts we found very nice. The level of finishing and furnishing of the house is very good. The house is quite remote and messages you can do best in Grauss, 25 minutes drive away. If you like peace and quiet, this is a real winner.
Marja van der Ploeg
A fantastic house with very friendly people, equipped with every comfort. An absolute must for anyone who loves peace and nature houdt.Als figure we give a 10!

We heben in June 2005 spent two wonderful weeks at Casa Vella. The thoroughly renovated and tastefully decorated home has many amenities. We enjoyed both the roof and the large garden which was nice furnishings including its own herb garden. During the hottest part of the day, the thick walls for a pleasantly cool interior. Caused Life in the countryside between the citizens of this small village in the foothills of the Pyrenees is our birth right. The surroundings are impressive and hiking are legion.
Koenraad De Meulder
A beautiful house in a small Spanish village. The owner (and her mother and brother) are very warm, friendly people who also speak French on the mother after. In the immediate vicinity are lovely walks. Who the mountains and National Parks lookup, must take into account a drive of at least 1.5 hours. On the other hand, again matchless tranquility in the village Castigaleu not.A wonderful holiday accommodation in a fascinating region. We are still not tired of it!
