The Ilmenau district of Gehren is a picturesque and quiet small town that became even more attractive during our departure weekend due to the castle park festival. The holiday home is beautiful and well-equipped. Additionally, there is a very nice and helpful landlord. A good supermarket is within a 10-minute walk. There are a variety of attractions in the area as well as a top-notch outdoor swimming pool in Ilmenau.

Beautiful excursions to the Wartburg (Martin Luther), Erfurt (beautiful city) and Buchenwald (impressive). During the hot days it is wonderful to swim in Ilmenau in the beautiful outdoor pool. Then good food in restaurant zur Post in Ilmenau! This is a real winner!
