Description
The holiday home has 6 lovingly designed double rooms (12 persons), a large living room with fireplace, dining room, a large fully equipped kitchen, a seasonal conservatory. Extra beds for up to 6 people are available on request in the attic. There are a total of three bathrooms with shower and WC and one WC.
The rooms have been designed according to different themes: Forest room - Herb room - Cornfield room - Bird room - Butterfly room - Rennsteig room
We offer you spacious common rooms in the holiday home such as kitchen, dining and living area, winter garden and terrace. These rooms are available to everyone and can be used together. In the large kitchen you will find everything you need to entertain a larger group. Sufficient crockery, pots and pans are available as well as 2 refrigerators, cooker with oven and additional hobs. The kitchen also offers generous work surfaces for convenient preparation of your favourite meals. In the dining and living area, a cosy fireplace and a spacious living area await you. A flatscreen with SAT reception and a playback option for DVDs and a music system provide variety. For rainy days there are also board games to choose from. Our furnished winter garden also invites you to linger. The conservatory is unheated and for seasonal use only. And when it comes to sports, not only children will enjoy our table tennis room.

Location and surroundings of object
The holiday home is located with another holiday home on our property in the Thuringian Forest at the foot of the Rennsteig. Our residential house is 50 m away from the guest houses, the contact depends on the guests' wishes! Our neighbours are 1.5 km away. There is a natural forest lake for swimming 5 km away. The distance to Gehren is about 5 km. We have 2 goats, 2 large and free-roaming dogs, 2 horses, a cat and chickens. In the evening, we are happy to feed all the animals together with the children and interested adults. Catering can be organised on request - Mediterranean , Oriental or of course with traditional Thuringian cuisine. A small stream flows through the property, barbecue area and fireplace are of course available. There are possibilities to use the table tennis table, the football field and the playground. Sufficient parking spaces are available on the property.

Our holiday home is located in the middle of the forest. Wonderful hiking trails can be found in the immediate vicinity. The Rennsteig, Thuringia's famous ridge trail, is about 5km away. Whether short walks or extended hikes, the Ratsmühle is the ideal starting point for enjoying nature.
Ski & Toboggan
Winter at the Ratsmühle has its own special charm. Cross-country skiing trails can be found directly in the vicinity of the holiday home. So you can start your relaxed day trip right from the breakfast table with your skis on. Friends of alpine skiing will find skiing areas with ski lifts and chair lifts in Schmiedefeld or Masserberg after a short drive. Even the little ones will have fun on a toboggan.
Mountain biking
Active recreation in the form of cross-country and mountain biking is, of course, the classic. On well-maintained forest paths and in the immediate vicinity also in the middle of the forest you can let off steam wonderfully. The Rennsteig cycle path is also ideal for mountain biking.
Cycling
The surrounding area is ideal for extensive cycling tours. Möhrenbach lies directly on the new Ilm-Rennsteig cycle path. From here there is a direct connection to the Ilmtal cycle path or the Gera cycle path.
Bathing
In the summer months, you can cool off in the nearby Waldsee lake. Fresh, cool water awaits you at the "Ochsenbacher Teich". A large outdoor adventure pool can be reached by car in Ilmenau. There are also indoor swimming pools and fun pools in Ilmenau as well as in Arnstadt, Oberhof and Rudolstadt, ideal for the winter months and in bad weather.
