Trusetal is located in the middle of a low mountain range on the south-west slope of the Thuringian Forest. The "Hohe Klinge" is a small ridge in the western part of the Thuringian Forest, near the village of Trusetal (district of Schmalkalden-Meiningen), with its well-known Trusetal waterfall and popular gnome park. Hohe Klinge's small residential and recreational area is located about 3 km from the centre of Trusetal, 700 m above sea level. Access to the Rennsteig/ Inselsberg hiking trail is in the immediate vicinity. With this as our backdrop we present the comfortably furnished 2-bedroom Finnhütte. This holiday home will be yours alone and is located slightly on the slope, thus offering a wonderful view of the forests and valleys. Within a radius of 10 km, guests have a number of options: tennis, beach/outdoor pool, indoor pool, water sports, fishing, guided hikes, skittles/bowling, mini golf, carriage rides, horseback riding, riding lessons or Kneipp treatments. Popular excursions in the area include the tourist mine (5km), waterfall (2km), Eisenach (25km) and Erfurt (70km).

The two of us stayed in the holiday home for a week in September. Ms. Asmus, the contact person on site, was very nice and tried to fulfill our additional requests. Unfortunately, the great view was not confirmed as everything in front of the hut was overgrown with trees and bushes. The house still has a GDR charm. Unfortunately, in the lower living area with the TV and table there was only a hard bench. When you come back from a strenuous hike, you want to sit comfortably and put your feet up. That didn't work at all. We improvised with sun loungers we gathered together. There were no requirements for this. On the first floor, the bedroom for 2 people was ok. However, we discovered that the four beds under the roof could only be reached via a dangerous staircase and are only suitable for older children. The beds were far too short for an adult. All in all, it was a nice hiking holiday for us in this environment with major compromises in terms of accommodation. We would not book this holiday home again.

A nice and simple house where everything is there what one needs. Unfortunately, there is no BBQ, which should be present according to the description. There is talk of a garden, but there is none. There is also a curtain missing in the master bedroom. Furthermore, the house is super clean, towels, dishwashing liquid, hand soap, toilet block and scouring pad with dishcloth are all available without payment. The area is really beautiful and is also ideal for beautiful walks with the dog.

All doors broken and dirty, all closets broken, only 1 small wardrobe for 4 people. in the room with 4 beds no closet or storage space. No stairwell light on the upper floor, bad for children as a ladder (no stairs) leads down) Bathroom very neglected, broken tiles and shower tray rusts, joints open, very shabby, no cupboard for groceries in the kitchen, everything had to be stored on a small table. There is no handover or takeover by the administrator. A lot of small repairs and small purchases can make up for everything.
