A beautiful house in a dreamlike area

Nice little house, large garden, and good beds. There are fun things to do in the nearby area, but you always need a car. We missed a few things: comfortable chairs for outside, there was no hand soap, and not enough toilet paper. Also, quite a few plates, glasses, and pans were dirty, just not washed. Additionally, there is no washing machine, which is quite inconvenient if you stay a bit longer (we were there for 11 days). All in all, we had a very nice holiday, but there are a number of easy improvements that could make it much better.

We went to this house from June 27 to July 4, 2025, I with my partner. The house itself was maybe okay despite the owners living right next door. The house was very dirty; upon arrival, the stove was still filthy, full of grease. The entire kitchen, if you touched any cabinets, handles, or anything, you had to wash your hands afterward. I had to give the pots and pans a good wash first, the fridge was also dirty, no cleaning products available, no brush, no squeegee, just nothing. The toilet was very dirty, I suspect it hadn't been cleaned in weeks or months, it also smelled very bad, no ventilation, and the lighting in there worked very poorly. The bedrooms are quite large, enough space to place a wardrobe in each room, unfortunately, this was not the case. There was a coat rack in each room with a few hangers, that was all you had to work with, quite sad actually... Then the living room... an old musty couch that I actually found disgusting, we barely sat on it. The cushions of the couch also smelled, musty and old junk, just like everything else in the house. There was not a single ambient light in the entire living room, only the big ceiling lights, not really cozy in the evening. Then as a cherry on top... I called the owner 2 days before departure to ask if we could park our car in the garage so that our car would be less hot due to the heatwave. She replied that this was no problem at all, she said it would be fine. Upon arrival, there was a beam outside the garage so that no one could drive in. We went inside to look, and there was the owner's expensive Porsche with 3 large printed A4 sheets saying "!!STAY AWAY PRIVATE" "ALARM IS ACTIVE," also mentioned in French; I took pictures of this, unfortunately, I can't attach them here, too bad... We sat in the garden once, then never again, the grass was high, not mowed, resulting in us being covered in insect bites afterward. The description of the house states that it is intended for 6 people, strange... there are only 2 garden chairs available... Then the bathroom, the mirror was still full of dried water droplets and streaks and lint. It is mentioned in the description of the property that bath towels are available; we received 2 not-so-fresh-smelling towels each for the whole week... We booked this based on the "good reviews"..., I don't know how this is possible???? Regarding waste separation, it is mentioned in their "welcome book"?? that you must separate the waste, unfortunately, we couldn't do this, no bin or box for paper and cardboard, no bin for glass, no bag for PMD!!! Only a trash can for residual waste and organic waste. We also have the impression that this holiday home is just a source of income for the owners, nothing more, nothing less; they don't care how it looks inside, as long as it brings in money. The owners live next door and never said or asked anything, nor did they ever welcome us. We will definitely not be going back here; such a dirty, filthy, and greasy house is not pleasant to arrive at. If you would like to see pictures of the Porsche in the garage and the filthy toilet, I can certainly send you the photos. It's a shame I have to give such a negative review, but this is really the truth; for the owners, the income from this is simply what matters, the rest does not interest them!!

Furthermore, a large covered veranda so you can still stay outside in the rain. A stream for cooling off just a 2-minute walk through the garden.

We all enjoyed the spacious house so much. And how wonderful the garden was for our grandson, and we could eat outside the whole week. We missed a parasol and relaxed chairs for outside. The surroundings are beautiful for walking and visiting castles. When leaving the driveway to the road, pay close attention, because you can't see well on the road where you can go 70 km due to a hedge.

We had a lovely stay at the chalet! The vintage charm made it cozy and inviting. The fenced garden was perfect for our children to play in while we enjoyed some barbecues on the terrace. The location is also very convenient, with nice restaurants just a short walk away. We particularly loved exploring the nearby Ardennes forest, which is absolutely stunning!

At Christmas we took a week's holiday in chalet Sur l "Amblève. Upon arrival we immediately came into the atmosphere with the lights that were fitted outside. We came in via the key in the safe and immediately we saw that everything was very neat and You had plenty of space and it was equipped with every comfort. We went to the Christmas market in the caves and did beautiful walks a short distance away. In short, it is highly recommended.

The accommodation was exactly as described online, and perfect for a small group or family. While we didn't expect the accommodation to be located on a park, this was of no issue whatsoever, and we were in a good location to explore the area such as the nearby cave, waterfalls and surrounding hikes. We stayed here at the end of November, so you may imagine the weather, therefore we weren't able to make use of the garden - this would however be a lovely space for a more sunny warmer season. My only tip for this place would be to bring your own oil, salt, coffee, filters, dishwasher cubes, toilet paper etc. as this isn't provided, also the kitchen equipment i.e. pans and cutlery is quite basic - fine for a couple days though. Overall a lovely place and certainly met my expectations. I would recommend this place for anyone looking for a relaxed stay in Belgium.

The holiday home is nicely spacious and has a very nice location with all kinds of fun things to do in the area. When we arrived, the cot and chair were not there. This is arranged within a few hours after an email. Everything may look a bit dated but we love that, it gives atmosphere in this house which is all made of wood. The kitchen is also equipped with a good hob and ovens. Nothing to complain about. There was a set of towels on each bed. Enough for us. During our stay with 3 young children it was very nice that there was Netflix on the television so that they could relax once in a while, the WiFi is very good, the bunk beds have a safety board and the large enclosed garden is top notch. To top it off you have your own private entrance to the river just steps from the house. Here hangs a porch swing and it is wonderful to sit. What we did miss, however; screens on the doors and windows because there are many wasps during the day (there is a nest somewhere) and a lot of gadflies in the evening. We missed plastic crockery for the children, the toilet smelled of urine on arrival, the bathroom mat was still wet Our youngest's bedding was still damp and it was just not exactly clean everywhere. We are also used to having a clean sponge next to the dishwasher tablets that are ready. However, the sponge that was there was already dirty and used. of the tubs at the bottom of the cabinet, with a tear and dirty cloth in it. The garage under the house is missing windows and 1 window is broken and covered with duct tape. Something that also looks a bit shabby. Outside we missed a swing or slide for the children, or at least a box with some outdoor toys for young and old (ball, badminton, boules) These are small details that could be improved to create a perfect stay in my opinion.

The cottage was clean and spacious enough for 4 to 6 people. The location is a perfect base. Kitchen was well equipped, plenty of crockery available. Downsides were a number of pans that were dirty (with grease spots) in the cupboard. We also received 1 large and 1 small towel per person for a 4 day stay. We contacted the owners to ask if we could get extra towels. We have had no response to this.

Cozy wooden chalet, decor is a bit dated but very clean and very comfortable. The location is wonderfully quiet and at the same time supermarkets and restaurants are only a 5-minute drive away, as is the Ninglinspo walking area (tip: start your walk early in the morning, then you will be ahead of the crowds). Spa, Durbuy and Liège can be reached within 20-30 minutes. We enjoyed the beautiful view and the lovely garden. A play set for children would complete it, but our daughter enjoyed herself just as much. We would definitely book this again.

We enjoyed a wonderfully comfortable, warm and clean home with a view of the Ardennes hillside. The chalet is made up of thick tree stumps and has been very well maintained. The area was also a surprise with the most beautiful and exciting walking route we have ever made as a family in the Ardennes, the primeval forest of Ninglinspo, with streams, waterfalls and wooden bridges everywhere. You can also go mountain biking. Recommended! We are definitely going back.

We had a fantastic stay in the cottage in Sougné-Remouchamps! The surroundings were simply beautiful, and the Ardennes forest just a few minutes' drive away. The cottage was cozy and well-equipped, perfect for our family of six. We loved spending evenings on the private terrace, grilling and enjoying the peaceful garden. The children had plenty of space to play, and we appreciated the proximity of the local grocery store and restaurants, which were just a few kilometers away. The biggest attraction was the visit to the nearby Remouchamps caves - definitely worth seeing! Overall, it was a lovely oasis that we would gladly return to.

The owners have a car under the house in the garage, the first night we were there at 4:30 am the car alarm went off, we woke up with a big shock, we checked the whole house and called the owner, no one picked up, after 10 minutes the alarm went off, my husband put everyone down and put everyone back to bed, just as we fell asleep the car alarm went off again at 5.15am, called the owner again and this time they picked up but told us that they were not around and nobody came, after 5 minutes the car alarm went off again, nobody really slept after that and the whole next day was ruined. Also the village has no footpath and walking on the road is very dangerous, the cars driving at 90 km/h, when we tried to walk we even had cars honking at us! The forest behind the house could not be reached because of a river in between. If you want to see something outside the house you have to by car, this was not our plan, we thought we were the boss and could walk into the village, this is really not possible, the car alarm certainly did not help!

The chalet looks beautiful inside and out. A real quality chalet. All comfort is available to really enjoy. We missed cava glasses and beer glasses to tap on the nice stay. We certainly want to go back in another season.

What a lovely house and a very nice place to stay. The house is very attractive on the inside because of all the wood. The kitchen is also very nice and equipped with a good oven and also a combi oven and is very spacious.



What we also experienced as very nice is the access to the river, really nice to be able to enjoy it in peace.



The location of the house in the region was also very good because there are many beautiful walks within a short distance and shops are also easily accessible.



The only downside is the neighbor of number 54. His garden borders the entrance to the river and apparently this gentleman does not appreciate it when you play with children near the water, he keeps coming to look and growling incomprehensibly and gesturing for you to leave.

We didn't wear too much of it as the access to the river belongs to the holiday home and the yards are clearly separated from each other.

The garden is large and the children had a great time playing in it, but a playground would complete it.

In the house itself there is a box with some outdoor toys (this also contains some board games).



The garage is used by the owner, but we have not experienced any problems with parking. There is still enough space in the driveway to park the car.



We have stayed here with four people, it seems a bit tight for six people, but it was perfect for our family. Really had a wonderful week in a house that I would definitely recommend! The only downside we found were the towels, 1 tea towel, 1 dishcloth and 2 towels per person for 8 days, we found quite little.

Nice accommodation on a spacious plot. We have chosen this accommodation because there is a garage for storing the engine, this space is very suitable for this. Friendly and very helpful homeowner. Really recommended. Environment as you expect from the Ardennes.

We enjoyed a wonderfully comfortable, warm and clean home with a view of the Ardennes hillside. The chalet is made up of thick tree stumps and has been very well maintained. The area was also a surprise with the most beautiful and exciting walking route we have ever made as a family in the Ardennes, the primeval forest of Ninglinspo, with streams, waterfalls and wooden bridges everywhere. You can also go mountain biking. Recommended! We are definitely going back.

Everything is there what we needed. A beautiful large garden, a comfortable house with a real chalet feeling. The owners were often in the area and with a small repair they came immediately. The house is centrally located to be in nature or to make trips. The stores are also not far away. we will definitely go back and recommend it to others!

The info for the arrival was very clear and the accommodation was as in the advertisement was set! Beautiful location and all the luxury! The area is beautiful and radiate a huge peace and that was exactly what we were looking for! This Chalet is definitely a recommended and that also with a garden of no less than 800m2 !!

At Christmas we took a week's holiday in chalet Sur l "Amblève. Upon arrival we immediately came into the atmosphere with the lights that were fitted outside. We came in via the key in the safe and immediately we saw that everything was very neat and You had plenty of space and it was equipped with every comfort. We went to the Christmas market in the caves and did beautiful walks a short distance away. In short, it is highly recommended.

On arrival the key was in the locker of which we had received the code. It was a cozy and clean holiday home in a quiet area. We really enjoyed the beautiful weather. It is also highly recommended to go for a walk at the Ninglinspo.

The accommodation was exactly as described online, and perfect for a small group or family. While we didn't expect the accommodation to be located on a park, this was of no issue whatsoever, and we were in a good location to explore the area such as the nearby cave, waterfalls and surrounding hikes. We stayed here at the end of November, so you may imagine the weather, therefore we weren't able to make use of the garden - this would however be a lovely space for a more sunny warmer season. My only tip for this place would be to bring your own oil, salt, coffee, filters, dishwasher cubes, toilet paper etc. as this isn't provided, also the kitchen equipment i.e. pans and cutlery is quite basic - fine for a couple days though. Overall a lovely place and certainly met my expectations. I would recommend this place for anyone looking for a relaxed stay in Belgium.

The holiday home is nicely spacious and has a very nice location with all kinds of fun things to do in the area. When we arrived, the cot and chair were not there. This is arranged within a few hours after an email. Everything may look a bit dated but we love that, it gives atmosphere in this house which is all made of wood. The kitchen is also equipped with a good hob and ovens. Nothing to complain about. There was a set of towels on each bed. Enough for us. During our stay with 3 young children it was very nice that there was Netflix on the television so that they could relax once in a while, the WiFi is very good, the bunk beds have a safety board and the large enclosed garden is top notch. To top it off you have your own private entrance to the river just steps from the house. Here hangs a porch swing and it is wonderful to sit. What we did miss, however; screens on the doors and windows because there are many wasps during the day (there is a nest somewhere) and a lot of gadflies in the evening. We missed plastic crockery for the children, the toilet smelled of urine on arrival, the bathroom mat was still wet Our youngest's bedding was still damp and it was just not exactly clean everywhere. We are also used to having a clean sponge next to the dishwasher tablets that are ready. However, the sponge that was there was already dirty and used. of the tubs at the bottom of the cabinet, with a tear and dirty cloth in it. The garage under the house is missing windows and 1 window is broken and covered with duct tape. Something that also looks a bit shabby. Outside we missed a swing or slide for the children, or at least a box with some outdoor toys for young and old (ball, badminton, boules) These are small details that could be improved to create a perfect stay in my opinion.

The cottage was clean and spacious enough for 4 to 6 people. The location is a perfect base. Kitchen was well equipped, plenty of crockery available. Downsides were a number of pans that were dirty (with grease spots) in the cupboard. We also received 1 large and 1 small towel per person for a 4 day stay. We contacted the owners to ask if we could get extra towels. We have had no response to this.

Cozy wooden chalet, decor is a bit dated but very clean and very comfortable. The location is wonderfully quiet and at the same time supermarkets and restaurants are only a 5-minute drive away, as is the Ninglinspo walking area (tip: start your walk early in the morning, then you will be ahead of the crowds). Spa, Durbuy and Liège can be reached within 20-30 minutes. We enjoyed the beautiful view and the lovely garden. A play set for children would complete it, but our daughter enjoyed herself just as much. We would definitely book this again.

disappointed. The owners have a car under the house in the garage, the first night we were there at 4:30 am the car alarm went off, we woke up with a big shock, we checked the whole house and called the owner, no one picked up, after 10 minutes the alarm went off, my husband put everyone down and put everyone back to bed, just as we fell asleep the car alarm went off again at 5.15am, called the owner again and this time they picked up but told us that they were not around and nobody came, after 5 minutes the car alarm went off again, nobody really slept after that and the whole next day was ruined. Also the village has no footpath and walking on the road is very dangerous, the cars driving at 90 km/h, when we tried to walk we even had cars honking at us! The forest behind the house could not be reached because of a river in between. If you want to see something outside the house you have to by car, this was not our plan, we thought we were the boss and could walk into the village, this is really not possible, the car alarm certainly did not help!
