This detached, rustic chalet for a maximum of 8 people is located on Pfaffenberg in Obervellach on the sunny side of the Mölltal in Carinthia, at 1,350 meters above sea level in the great outdoors. The panoramic location high above the valley offers a wonderful view of the surrounding mountains of the Reisseck Group. The chalet can be reached via a wide asphalted road, the last 3 km are on a very good forest road.

The chalet is a self-catering cabin and offers a large living/dining kitchen with a wood stove and seating area, 2 spacious bedrooms each with a double bed and a stackable bed and a modern bathroom. Cooking is done on a wood stove, and the hot water is also heated with wood; the wood is provided free of charge. A gas cooker is also available. Arrival bar and angry. Appointed down in the valley because of key v gate. Sat in car for 13 hours. Called on the way by owner what time we arrived. Time agreed. Sir wish we waited downstairs for him for an hour !! Then behind his (racing) car up the mountain !! Mister was clearly in a hurry, because little explanation at the house. We were experienced he said. If only we would have explained in a calm way about how and what would have been welcome. By the way .... the snaps from the woodpecker booth was warm and almost finished so he didn't think it necessary !! In addition, upon entering the toilet, laundry and shower tray and floor appeared to be reasonably clean ... but as far as crockery, windows, beds and spiderwebs are concerned .... Small pit v gas stove turned out to be bad ... we should have held down much longer said he on departure. Microwave when turned on gave enormous burning smell so quickly unplugged. Was brand new he said on departure. Sunshade could not be removed after 1x use because the ring shot off. Was stuck professor, he had already tried 3 times to make, he said on departure! Beautiful surroundings, but to walk you will have to go down in the car. Upstairs is a dead end !! And if you go in September like us, be prepared for the bronze age and the belling of the deer at dusk and id night. The call resembles bear roar and is literally under the bedroom window. Not seen a deer because view through trees is bad !! Train track also runs underneath. It is quite a bit down, little frequency and it goes into the tunnel there, but it may bother you! In addition ... a low normal passenger car with not too much horsepower does not come up or down. Half of the route "Schotterstrasse", steep and at the house also slippery through grass. The firing with wood gets used very quickly. Extra heater in bathroom with smaller wood to heat up to take a shower, even after a few hours still reasonably lukewarm warm water.

Very beautiful location of this house. Beautiful view to the other side of the valley against the mountain. all the way back in time, cooking on a stove and heating the boiler with wood (just be careful with the hot water tap because the water gets really hot). We had beautiful warm summer weather with a thunderstorm in the middle of the week in the evening and then clouds in the valley. So we got to know all the weather influences in the mountains. During the day 28 degrees and at night 10 degrees. wonderful bellowing of the red deer in rut as if they were standing under the bedroom window. You can make extensive use of the Karnten card by using various lifts and beautiful walks at the top of the mountains. You can save a mountain walk because the Gróneck Gipfelkreuz of 2691 meters altitude is along the house. The road to and from the house is also worth it and quite an experience, especially the last meters to the house. Almost no internet there at an altitude of 1350 meters. Reception with a snap from the woodpecker. Friendly owner. The house was are a bit cleaner, but you also live back in time. In short, a wonderful week.

Really very natural mountain hut in a lonely height. There are no "neighbors" or other inhabited houses in the immediate vicinity. If you are looking for peace, this is the place for you. A four-wheel drive car would be perfect for mastering the steep ascent and descent. But with a little feeling it can also be done with a normal car. Nature is beautiful and full of life. The hut itself serves its purpose. Wood is used for heating and water is heated. We really liked that and it was decelerating. We felt very comfortable and enjoyed the time very much. Basically, the hut is very quaint and rustic. On one or the other corner, however, something could be done again. The contact with the landlord was easy and very nice. It was taken care of and sometimes asked. For us it was what we were looking for. More cleanliness would have been nice, but we were able to quickly arrange that ourselves so that we were satisfied. So basically a recommendation for people who really want peace and nature.

Our holiday in Unterhofer Alm was fantastic. High on the mountain, at the end of a long steep road, this was really "our house". Nobody around. No connection. So a guarantee for undisturbed games and reading books. The area was particularly beautiful. We had taken the Kärnten Card and so we could go every day with a mountain job or to a swimming pool. For example, we walked a lot with good weather and had a great time with bad weather.

An alpine hut that will satisfy the peace-seeker and adventurer. The uniqueness, but also simplicity, brings back a piece to the roots of being human. Pure tranquility, incredible air, fascinating nature. Hans is an absolutely kind-hearted host, who also surprised with homemade. But also the nature park ranger should be mentioned at this point thankfully. Highly recommended are nearby places like Millstadt and Velden am Wörthersee, the fascinating Raggaschlucht etc., but even Obervellach offers beautiful hiking trails along the Mölltal. Spar and Billa right in town - shopping easy. The hut itself offers sufficient comfort, we also had the luck of a warm autumn weather. Beds + pillows clean. For showering, the bathing stove must be heated beforehand, (enough wood in front of the hut) on the wood-heated stove can be cooked well. Nice, that dogs are welcome and literally feel awesome (Fencing is almost perfect). All in all a holiday that leaves nothing to be desired! Except maybe the desire to come back sometime ...

we were welcomed by the owner. The cottage is beautiful. Bathroom (self lighted hot water for showering) and bedrooms were good. The living room left something to be desired, not clean. There is a two burner stove, was not in the bescrijving.
