Far from the hustle and bustle, idyllically situated, and yet it is only about 5 walking minutes (50m) from the summer cottage to the forest or about 25 walking minutes (approx. 1 km) to the beach.
In July 2016, we built the wooden cottage on the foundations of a former bungalow. It offers 1 living-bedroom with 1 fold-out sofa bed for 2 people. The mini-bathroom has a shower, toilet, and an external window. The mini-kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, right next to the small dining area. The large and wildly romantic overgrown property has been made accessible again. Last spring, the terrace was fitted with a wooden floor. The covered terrace is a wonderful place to have breakfast, barbecue, and relax. It is protected from view and covered.

Location and surroundings of object
The garden is on a slope. It is not a decorative garden, but more of a cleared garden wilderness with sunny and shady spots. For decades, it has been neither fertilized nor watered. It is the last of 5 garden plots on the sunny slope. The surroundings are largely unspoiled. Plenty of space for sunbathing and reading, for dreaming, playing, or barbecuing. In good fruit years, an old plum tree invites you to snack. The tiny garden pond with cattails and other wild plants has also aged. It is located in the lower garden area and is almost completely dry most of the time. Nevertheless, the garden buzzes and hums with all sorts of creatures. With a bit of luck, you might spot "our" garden lizard basking in the sun.
Those who prefer less sunlight might retreat to the dappled shade of the large rhododendron or the mighty old oak. Below the property (about 50m away from the little house), the small electric island train operates. Daily, from morning until late evening, it transports tourists and those employed in island tourism to the coastal resorts. The small train station is about 1.5 km away. From here, the Usedom beach resorts are very accessible. Bicycles are allowed on the train.

The fine sandy beach is about 1100 meters from the property, is on foot, via forest paths or road, in about 20 minutes to reach. To the promenade and beach bridge it is about 300m further. The dike and the Achterwasser with its idyllic harbour can be reached on foot or by bike, via sandy path and beautiful old avenue, in about 15 to 30 minutes. There you will not only find delicious fish dishes and fantastic sunsets, from there ships start regularly for a round trip on the backwater or to the mainland to Lassan
From the port of Peenemünde, about 1 hour by bike from the summer cottage, a small ferry regularly crosses to the still active fishing village of Freest on the mainland. Here, in the mornings and with a bit of luck, you can watch the fishermen at work and of course enjoy freshly smoked fish or ice cream and cake
For those who find the beach life too turbulent or prefer to enjoy the unimaginable silence of the dreamy hinterland with its dreamy villages and peninsulas of Usedom, there is a direct connection from the summer cottage to the kilometres of cycling and hiking trails of the nature park island of Usedom. Here you can discover the oldest form of wellness, the experience of nature. The quiet and almost deserted Achterland of the Gnitz peninsula, past the old village centre, now a cemetery and rose garden, can be reached by bike in about 30 minutes. Even to the secluded Lieper Winkel, past quiet villages, ancient buildings, castles and small refreshment stops, it is only about 1.5 to 2.5 hours by bike. The Kaiserbäder and Swinemünde in Poland are about 90 minutes away by bike, and the cycle path runs right along the coast. Many a guest is surprised, because Usedom also has "mountains".
