The center and the old town of the charming town and climatic health resort of Plau am See can be reached on foot from here. Various restaurants and cafés serve Mecklenburg specialties and small shops invite you to browse. There are also sights worth seeing such as the Plau castle tower from 1449 with its deep dungeon and narrow climb, the famous lift bridge from 1916 and the town church from the 13th century, which can be seen from afar.

"Lovely stay at the Hotel Grand Lake. The views of the Rocky Mountains from our room were breathtaking. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed exploring the nearby town of Estes Park and hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area!"
