Description

From the outside still inconspicuous, the historic half-timbered house surprises inside with its cozy country house style. The former "Hirtenhäusla" has three lovingly furnished bedrooms, each with 2 beds. In the living room with a large corner couch, you can relax wonderfully. Thanks to the sofa's sleeping function, two additional guests have the possibility to stay overnight. For cooking together in the rustically designed kitchen, a 5-burner gas stove, an electric oven, and all important cooking utensils are available. The dining area is integrated into the open kitchen and, with its wood-burning stove, also serves as a lounge. The spacious bathroom with toilet has a walk-in shower. The three bedrooms on the upper floor have a room height of 2.0 m, which is somewhat lower than is usual today. In the small garden, there is a cozy terrace with a dining area right next to the house. The idyllic village of Freiröttenbach is a district of Schnaittach and is located at the gateway to Franconian Switzerland. It is an ideal starting point for excursions to Nuremberg or the Franconian surroundings.

The holiday home is located in Freiröttenbach, a small village of the market town of Schnaittach in the district of Nürnberger Land. It is about 5 kilometres to the A9 motorway (Schnaittach exit). The old imperial city of Nuremberg is about 30 km away. The district of Nürnberger Land is located northeast of Nuremberg and is known as an outdoor and pleasure region. With the Franconian Switzerland-Franconian Jura Nature Park, it offers a varied natural landscape with a variety of excursion and leisure opportunities.

Dreamlike "Shepherd's House"

We were allowed to spend our short vacation at the Meier family's dreamy shepherd's house.
Already upon entering the house for the first time, one could immediately see the love that the Meier family has put into it. The history of the shepherd's house is also very interesting, and one should definitely hear or read it.
You can easily chat with the landlords, who are truly kind-hearted people.
The apartment is fully equipped, and nothing is missing. I can only recommend the little house to anyone who wants to simply find peace.
As already mentioned... Dreamily beautiful!!!!

Anytime again

We had a wonderful vacation in the holiday home of the Meier family. We didn't miss anything and we would love to come back anytime. The little house is well thought out, spotlessly clean, and incredibly lovingly furnished.

Cozy New Year's Eve vacation

We spent a few lovely days in the cozy holiday home over the New Year. Everything we needed was available and we felt comfortable! Trips to the zoo in Nuremberg or to the Playmobil Park are easily accessible by car.

Thank you for a wonderful short vacation.

Lovingly furnished, lots of small details to fall in love with, half-timbered and inviting coziness - all of this can be discovered in the Meier family's vacation house.
The first contact with the landlords was very warm and accommodating. The house offers a nice mixture of natural building materials, a modern style of furnishing, and small nostalgic or Bavarian decorative elements for feeling good and relaxing.
There is also a spacious terrace with privacy provided by trees and hedges, inviting holidaymakers to linger and take a break from everyday life.
Regensburg and Nuremberg are not far from the vacation accommodation and are highly recommended.

Holiday home insider tip on the outskirts of Upper Franconia

A really great holiday home, designed with a lot of attention to detail. Very comfortable beds with good mattresses and duvets! Very kind and helpful landlords, who live right next door and provided many tips. Great hiking trails start right in the village and there are also some nice routes for runners with a direct start from the house. The only limitations to know: there is only one bathroom and no separate toilet, and there is also no dishwasher. Otherwise, there is everything you need for a nice holiday, such as a grill for the summer or a fireplace for cozy winter evenings.

Former student meeting

We used the house for a reunion with our student group and had a great stay. The old half-timbered house was lovingly restored by the owners. In addition, the kitchen was fully equipped and all beds were made. We were also provided with plenty of towels. And the friendly hosts provided us with hiking tips. A successful weekend all around.

A dream weekend!

The accommodation combined with a really warm host family made our extended "stag weekend" perfect!

We stayed with the Meier family in their shepherd's house from Thursday to Sunday

The holiday home is really tip-top! There is really nothing to complain about.
The kitchen is very well equipped, the individual bedrooms are super cosy (and also offer enough space!), the bathroom has a fantastic shower and as if that wasn't enough, Mrs Meier also supplied us with wood for the fireplace

We really enjoyed our time here and would be happy to come back again after this "stressful" weekend for some sociable hiking!
