Location and surroundings of object
The North Sea resort of Dangast is the oldest and southernmost seaside resort on the German North Sea coast. It is centrally located on the Jadebusen a little north of Oldenburg and northwest of Bad Zwischenahn and is excellent for cycling tours as well as a good starting point for various sightseeing tours in the near and far surroundings, e.g. into East Frisia or to Oldenburg, Bad Zwischenahn or to Bremen.
Dangast is one of the few places on the German North Sea coast where a protective dyke is not required. This is possible because Dangast was built in a flood-protected location on the southern slope of an ice-age geest ridge. As a result, there is an unobstructed view of the sea as one of the main attractions in Dangast.

In the course of its 200-year tradition, Dangast has developed from the first seaside resort on the North Sea to a popular holiday destination and seaside resort. Dangast is naturally situated on a cliff and has the only natural sandy beach on the Jade Bay. Artists, creative people and families have long since discovered this special place and its surroundings for themselves!
It offers a wide range of opportunities for all kinds of activities such as horse riding, sailing, tennis and hiking.
A modern iodine-brine leisure pool, various spa facilities and picturesque squares are balm for the soul. The well-developed network of cycle paths leads directly along the dyke to Wilhelmshaven or Varel.
The Dangast landscape was and still is an exceptional motif for painters and recreational artists. Demanding art and literature courses round off the varied offer. The Dangast Art Trail also displays reproductions of works by various artists.

Relaxing vacation.
We were here in Dangast for the first time, and we really liked it. The accommodation was great, and the beach was just a stone's throw away. Anyone not looking for mass tourism will feel right at home here. We would love to come back.
