Description
The 250-year-old, listed house is idyllically situated in the middle of a park-like, 3000m² garden on a historic ford in the village centre of Eckwarden, approx. 1000m from the dyke, close to the Eckwarderhörne lido between the Jadebusen and the North Sea. Although situated in a green and quiet area, away from the main road, facilities such as supermarket and restaurant are within walking distance.
The house was thoroughly restored in 2014 and stylishly furnished with antique and modern furniture according to the motto "Ikea meets antique". This mixture gives the house a particularly individual country house charm. The large mullioned windows, old tiled and wooden floors, antique doors and high ceilings all contribute to this. The entire ground floor with 160m² of living space, terrace and garden is at the guest's sole disposal during the rental period. The upper floor is not occupied during the rental period.
In the secluded, park-like garden you can enjoy nature and let time pass under the large trees. The whole ambience promises pure idyll and a relaxing holiday of a very special kind.

Location and surroundings of object
The Butjadingen peninsula, framed by the Jade Bay, the North Sea and the Weser estuary, offers access on all sides to the Wadden Sea National Park and is synonymous with a green, expansive landscape, fresh, salty air and abundant nature. The small village of Eckwaren in the south of Butjadingen has a small supermarket and a country inn within walking distance. The dyke and the small harbour of Eckwardersiel are about 1000m away, the nearest beach with bathing area - very small, but not crowded and with a beautiful view - is in Eckwarderhörne at a distance of about 3000m
The nearest seaside resorts are Tossens with Centerparc + Tropical Bath and Burhave with the North Sea Lagoon. Boat trips to the seal banks are offered from the small fishing boat harbour of Fesserwardersiel. There are excursions to the harbours and museums of Bremerhaven and Wilhelmshaven. Butjadingen can also be explored particularly well by bike (rental bikes are available in Tossens).

Overall assessment
June 2020

experience history with luxury
Mrs Garnholz is a great host, we loved the house and the ambience. We spent over a week in the house in June 2020, the house has big rooms and a big garden, it was paradise for our children to have such a big garden. It is ideal for large families, has many rooms with lots of natural light. Because of its unique location, you have sun at any time of the day. We also liked the interior of the house, it was really a privilege to have spent some time in such a historic house. there is enough space for parking, the supermarket is just around the corner, the beach Eckwardenhörne is only about 3 km from Eckwarden, we rented bikes, so we mostly went to the beach by bike. As for the history, the house is a listed building and it's not very often that you get to experience it. The dune on which the house is built finds its first mention in 1090 or so. It was worth every penny we spent on this holiday. Hopefully we will get to go there again.

Nature on the Warf
One week in September was very relaxing despite many activities: cycling through the marsh, excursion to the Emigration Center in Bremerhaven, Tossens swimming pool, walks along the dike, views of the sea (not directly from the house, but you can walk there in the evening!) - wonderfully quiet area. The house is located on a hill with a superbly maintained natural garden - we could even sit in the sun (we had 4 days!) A spacious house with loving and complete equipment. Mrs. Garnholz is the hostess - lovely, she has created a tasteful ambiance. By the way, we were also there one weekend in January. Lonely, but cozy and warm, perfect for our large family!

Mrs. T. Garnholz

Coming from Oldenburg, I have always had a strong connection to the North Sea coast and by buying the house I fulfilled my dream of a beautiful country life. Not only have I found an appropriate place for my grandmother's furniture, but I can also let off steam in the garden and pursue my artistic interests on the upper floor of the house when it is not rented out to holiday guests.
