Description
Our holiday home, renovated in 2019, with 5000 m2 of fenced garden, is beautifully situated on the hillside above the seaside resort of Afissos, near Afetes, surrounded by thousands of olive trees. It is comfortably furnished and offers with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms space for up to 6 persons. From the large covered terrace you have a wonderful view over the Pagasitikos and can enjoy the spectacular sunset every evening.
An ideal domicile also for your holiday in spring with its sea of flowers or in autumn with slightly cooler temperatures for extended hikes or excursions. Equipped with underfloor heating and stove: Perfectly suited for spending the winter.

Location and surroundings of object
The Pelion has so far been virtually unknown as a holiday destination Central Europe and is mostly frequented by Greeks. Even in midsummer it is green, on the Aegean cliffs small streams rustle and lonely beaches remind of the Cote d'Azur - but without the many tourists. On the gulf side of the peninsula there are flat beaches suitable for children, lively seaside resorts and quaint mountain villages.
In Afetes there is a wonderful old village square, cafes, restaurants, a shop and a church. In the seaside resort of Afissos, right next door, there is an ancient harbour, bars, restaurants right by the sea, the beach with deckchair hire, water sports facilities and much more. The next bigger city is Volos with its own airport and everything a modern city offers.

Cancellation terms:
- You will be refunded half of the booking amount minus the cancellation fee, if you cancel the booking at least 7 days before the planned check-in until 12 o’clock midday CET (Central European time). For cancellations which are made less than 7 days before check-in there will be no refund.

The house is situated in a quiet and beautiful location on a hillside in the olive groves with a fantastic view over the Pagasitikos and can be easily reached by normal cars on a dirt road. However, it is not recommended to arrive with lowered vehicles.
There are different options for the journey (on site we definitely recommend to rent a car):
1) Flight to Volos, then about 1 hour by car.
2) Flight to Thessaloniki or Athens, then about 3 hours by car (Athens: 4 hours). Alternatively, there are also public buses in the direction of Volos.
3) By car and ferry via Igoumenitsa (from Ancona or Bari)
4) By car via the Balkan route.
5) Flight to Skiathos, then ferry to Platania, then bus or taxi.
From Volos, either enter the coordinates directly in GPS-App or use the following directions:
1) From Volos on the E034 ("Volou Neochoriou") direction Agria
2) Stay on the E034, passing through the villages of Agria, Malaki, Karo Gazea, Kala Nera and Koropi.
3) From Koropi on, enter the "mountains" and the road becomes more winding
4) 2km after Koropi there is a turnoff to the right to Affisos - stay on the E034
5) after the turnoff the road makes a sharp right turn. Turn left off the E034 and take the gravel road. Watch out for oncoming traffic on the E034!
6) Sharp left turn after 70 meters, the road continues
7) After 300 meters keep right, after about 100 meters the paved road ends and becomes a dirt road.
8) After 800 meters the house is on the left side.

Beautiful house
We spent 10 days in this beautiful house with a wonderful view. Everything you need is in the house, very comfortably furnished and plenty of space. Also the directions : perfect, (they are not very easy). The landlady was always available, which was reassuring
One small criticism : there were only 3 sunbeds available
But otherwise a perfect place for a nice holiday.

Very nice holiday home to relax and enjoy
We felt very comfortable in the holiday home. It is very spacious with three bedrooms and has a cosily furnished living room. The large terrace invites you to relax and offers a fantastic view of the sea. The beach of Afissos is only 10 minutes away by car.

A paradisiacal place in the Pelion
Amidst the green hills above the popular coastal village of Afissos is this wonderful insider tip - the Greek Retreat of Marianne & Andreas. Inside, the house is equipped with all the amenities you could wish for: spacious 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, modern kitchen, laundry room and cosy sofa corner with stove/fireplace and smart TV, but the absolute highlight is the large terrace: the panoramic view of the bay of Parasitikos can be enjoyed all day long - whether it's lounging on one of the sun loungers with a book in hand or enjoying spectacular sunsets with a glass of Greek wine in hand. A small but fine outdoor kitchen helps to ensure that you don't have to miss out on this view while cooking!
The 5000sqm fenced plot invites you to walk and linger under olive trees, the newly built platform offers space for yoga / sports, deck chairs or cosy barbecues
If you like it quiet at home, but don't want to miss out on cosy tavernas, shopping facilities and beaches within a 10-minute drive, this is the place for you. We will definitely be back! :-)
