The tranquil town of Krakow am See is located where the numerous lakes and wide fields of the Mecklenburg Lake District meet the rolling hills and shady forests of Mecklenburg Switzerland. Krakow is not only a climatic health resort, but also part of the Nossentiner/Schwinzer Heide nature park and its surroundings with Lake Krakow were declared a nature reserve many years ago. Of course, we definitely recommend using a fishing boat to fish on the fish-rich Krakower Untersee. Pike and perch are the main fish, but vendace are also caught by specialists. Children can catch rudd and other white fish right on the jetty. Every year around August 18, the traditional Fisherman's Festival of the city of Krakow takes place, where dragon boat races, corso rides and fireworks along the lake promenade create a festive atmosphere.
