The location between Faro and the Spanish border is also ideal - you can reach Faro in about 45 minutes and Seville in less than 2 hours. Castro Marim, at the mouth of the border river Guadiana, lies in a rural setting amidst fields, pastures, salt pans and salt marshes. The border to Spain is only 6 km away, the beaches at Monte Gordo about 10 km.
