"Der Kleine Fuchs" is a lovingly furnished 90 sqm holiday home on a natural plot with a developed basement, a total of 3 floors, surrounded by a small garden in the middle of the oak forest
On the ground floor is the spacious living/dining area with kitchenette and one of the two shower bathrooms
Upstairs are 2 cosy bedrooms for a total of 5 people
Another bedroom (with double bed) as well as the second shower room are located in the basement of the house, which enjoys daylight thanks to the hillside location. The washing machine is also located here
The floors in the entrance and living area are tiled, the two upper bedrooms have laminate flooring, the bedroom in the basement has carpet
From the living area you can access the covered south-facing terrace with outdoor barbecue
Garden furniture invites you to relax.
For the rest day in between, there are books, board games, DVDs as well as several book and game boxes for smaller children (Lego-Duplo etc.) in the house. The holiday home also has satellite TV, but does not have internet access at the moment.

Our pretty holiday home "Der Kleine Fuchs" is located in the holiday village Eichwald in the middle of the Palatinate Forest Nature Park. A small oasis of peace with clear air and a night sky full of stars - a place to relax and unwind, where you can hear the sounds of the forest and observe native animals.
The location is an optimal starting point for all nature and culture lovers, for hikers, climbers and mountain bikers. The area offers just as many recreational opportunities for families with children as it does for ambitious recreational athletes
Those who want to leave the car behind can hike directly from the house into the forest. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to the Silzer See lake, and about 1 hour to hike to Lindelbrunn.
If you want to explore the surrounding area, you will discover a beautiful landscape that stretches from the southern Wasgau to the northern Vosges. Here, in addition to numerous medieval castle ruins and the impressive rock massifs of red sandstone, there is an extensive network of great hiking and hut tours. The Silz Game and Hiking Park and the impressive museum castles of Trifels/Anweiler and Berwartstein Castle are in the immediate vicinity.
In addition, the nearby Southern Palatinate with its pretty winegrowing villages and wine festivals invites you to further excursions. Enjoy the culinary specialities of the "German Wine Route" region, visit wine taverns and ostrich inns and experience the culture of wine growing directly and up close
Interesting destinations for sightseeing in the further surroundings are for example: Wissembourg (approx. 30km), Speyer (approx. 50km), Heidelberg (approx. 60 km), Strasbourg (approx. 90 km).
Special excursion destinations for families with children are, for example, the Wild und Wanderpark Silz (2.5 km), the Landau Zoo (approx. 20 km), the treetop path near Dahn (approx. 30 km), the Kurpfalzpark Wachenheim (approx. 50 km) or the Holiday-Park Haßloch (approx. 50 km).

Cozy house in beautiful surroundings
We - three women - really enjoyed our time (three nights) at the "KleinenFuchs" and the wonderful surroundings in rather cool autumn weather.
A very pretty and super quiet house with a lovely cozy interior! Books to read for every taste!!! Plenty of information materials and maps for the area are available. We lacked nothing in the kitchen!!!
The landlord is very nice and everything went very well!
This accommodation is highly recommended! Last night we had a nice guest upon our return: a beautiful fire salamander!!!

Beautiful holiday home in the middle of nature.
The house is spacious, there is a lot to do in the area, but especially for people who enjoy the landscape and can appreciate the beautiful surroundings, this is a recommendation. It is easy to get in touch with the "host," and the cottage offers a nice base to undertake activities nearby.

Super holiday in the Southern Palatinate!
We (2 adults, 3 children) stayed in the holiday home "Der kleine Fuchs" from 06.08.-13.08.2022
We didn't miss anything during this week. The house is equipped with everything you need for daily life. It was very clean and the interior is well kept. The house is situated in a hollow, in the middle of the holiday village Eichwald. The many trees around it offer a lot of shade, so that it is very pleasantly cool in the house even on hot days. Shopping facilities can be found in the immediate vicinity, e.g. in neighbouring Annweiler. Due to the central location of the house, many sights (castles, ruins, hiking trails, etc.) can be reached quickly and easily. It is also not far to neighbouring France (28 km to Wissembourg), a day trip there is also worthwhile.
Not to forget the contact with the host. It was easy, quick and friendly. We have already thought about staying here again in the future. One week is simply not enough to see all the sights, etc. We were very impressed. As a small comment, but by no means as a criticism, I would like to say that the two staircases in the house and especially the ones to the upper sleeping area are very steep. If you are travelling with small children, you might want to bring a stair gate, or perhaps the host could provide or install one to avoid falling down the stairs.

Great holiday home in the Pfälzerwald area
We enjoyed our 2 weeks in the holiday home! The house was clean and well equipped. There is a nice terrace and there are trees all around the house. Even though the weather was warm, it stayed cool in the house especially in the lower basement. Contact with the owner was easy and good.
There are great places to visit like Annweiler, Wissembourg, Strasbourg and of course the beautiful nature of the Pfälzerwald. It’s also beautiful to drive the Weinstraße! We can recommend this holiday home.

Everything in the best way, gladly again
The communication with the landlord beforehand was great.
The house is well maintained and the room layout is great.
We were 5 adults with a child and a dog.
There are beautiful hiking trails right in front of the house.
If you want a relaxing holiday, this is the right place for you

The Palatinate is our home of choice, we have lived here for 20 years. We like the mild Tuscan climate, the beautiful landscape, the proximity to France and the great variety of excursion destinations. We often took weekend trips to the Palatinate with our children, for example to the wildlife and hiking park (near Silz), to the Drachenfels castle ruins or to the Dahn castles. We appreciate the delicious Palatinate specialities and the hospitable huts as much as the fish and cheese counter in the nearby French supermarket. We bought our Eichwald holiday home in summer 2019. We have rebuilt and extended it a little so that it now offers relaxed accommodation for up to 7 holiday guests with three cosy bedrooms and two shower bathrooms. We particularly like the fact that the charming cottage is located directly on the edge of the forest. That's why we named it "The Little Fox". On the doorstep: birdsong, peace and pure nature!
