Beautiful vacation apartment

We had a wonderful stay at the Sycamore Lodge in Braunwald. The apartment is very well equipped, even with a lot of children's toys that can be used. From the reservation to the handover of the apartment, everything worked perfectly, and we highly recommend this location.

Small oasis for sporty peace lovers

We will soon spend a decade having our ski holidays in this beautiful and cozy apartment along with our nearly grown-up sons, who feel just as comfortable here as we parents do.

The apartment matches the description and the photos on the website. We find it very clean and well-maintained every year. The owners value the upkeep of the apartment and are kindly attentive to our well-being. They are always reachable and helpful. From the terrace and the windows of the apartment, there is a wonderful view of the surrounding mountain landscape. The detached house is located in close proximity to the fairy tale hotel, where non-hotel guests can also ice skate or swim. It takes just a few minutes to walk to the village center, where the village shop and a nice bistro are located. Here are also the mountain station of the Braunwaldbahn and two sports shops. The area around the apartment is very beautiful and quiet. The mountain lifts can be reached from the apartment in a few minutes on foot. If there is plenty of snow, you can ski directly to the mountain lifts or, in the evenings, you can also ski right in front of the house :)

The kitchen is very well equipped, the living room is cozy, the bathroom is small but nice, equipped with enough towels, and the WiFi is good! If we could wish for something, we would appreciate a small "cart" or similar in the bathroom to be able to set a few things on it. We personally don't really like the mattresses and pillows in the parents' bedroom – they sag a bit and the pillows are too big for us. But that's "complaining" at the highest level :)

For us, the price-performance ratio, the handling, and the communication with the owners are right. If nothing comes up, we will spend our ski vacation there again in 2026!

wonderful flat for wonderful holidays

We had almost perfect weather for a wonderful holiday week in Braunwald. The flat is very cosy, tastefully furnished and very well equipped. There is really nothing missing
The location of the flat and the view from the terrace are unique. The peace and quiet and watching the stars in the sky are a delight

Sycamore Lodge offers everything you need for an uncomplicated holiday. Big plus: Waking up in the morning and watching the first rays of sunlight coat the snow-covered Tödi with yellow. Almost kitschy beautiful...!

Family holidays in Braunwald

A very bright, tasteful flat with very good equipment, especially in the kitchen. The beautiful children's toys and the furnishings on the seating area are also practical and free to use. The view is wonderful, the location in the village is central, the train station and shops on the one hand and the mountain railways on the other hand are within easy walking distance.

Stylishly furnished, bright holiday flat with a great view

We really enjoyed our holidays with our children and since the flat has cots, triptrap and great toys, we were able to save a lot of luggage. Thanks to the variety of toys, we were never bored. Even without children, the flat is highly recommended, as it is a very clean and modern flat with a great view. Everything else you need is there, even a fondue set, raclette oven and sledge (incl. child seat) :-)

Very nice apartment with great views - spacious and cozy. It's a shame that listening to (classical) music with the CD player doesn't produce satisfactory sound quality. Otherwise, highly recommended.

Assessment of ski holidays at Haus Sycamore in Braunwald

The house is very cozy and beautifully furnished. Everything we need is available, we always feel very comfortable. The children have toys available, we don't miss anything.
The path to the ski slope is rather inconvenient with ski boots, about 15 minutes on foot with children.

Super Familienwinterferien

We had a great time skiing in this beautiful, modern, spacious, top-equipped apartment (Wi-Fi, dishwasher, Nespresso coffee machine, washing machine, dryer, several sleds, crib, Stokke high chair for children, toys, etc.). We felt very comfortable. Our daughter especially enjoyed the many toys. We would love to come back!

In this vacation apartment, every wish is fulfilled. Especially as a family with young children, the apartment is perfectly equipped. Beautiful, diverse, and extremely well-maintained toys are available, so that children can keep themselves very well occupied. The rooms are, at least in our opinion, very tastefully furnished (clean lines, very bright and friendly). It is very clean, so you feel comfortable from the first minute. All technical devices are new and make everyday life easier.
Overall, highly recommended, especially in summer, with children!!!

Vicinity of the holiday home: Wer Ruhe und Entspannung sucht, ist hier genau richtig. Das Ferienhaus liegt sehr idyllisch mit Blick auf die schneebedeckten Gipfel der gegenüberliegenden Berge. Man kann schöne Wandertouren machen oder auch einfach die schöne Wohnung genießen und zu Hause entspannen.

free time activities: Perfekt für überschaubare Wandertouren auch mit kleinen Kindern (Unsere kleinere Tochter war 4 Jahre alt und konnte die Wege gut alleine meistern.) Ein Wasserfall ist gut erreichbar, ein Sessellift und eine Gondelbahn sind gerade für Kinder spannend. Nur wenige Minuten entfernt kann gegen ein geringes Entgeld eine Kletterwand an einem Hotel genutzt werden, was eine spannende Ergänzung zum Wandern, gerade für Kinder, ist. Demnächst soll es wohl im Ort auch wieder ein öffentlich nutzbares Schwimmbad geben.

shopping facilities: Das Einkaufen im kleinen Supermarkt ist problemlos möglich. Durch die Möglichkeit, sich die Waren auch liefern zu lassen, ist auch der Großeinkauf gut möglich. Eigentlich ist alles vorhanden, so dass man nicht wieder ins Tal zurück muss, um sich zu versorgen.

Very pleasant house!

The view is very beautiful, and everything in the house looks new and is of good quality. We really enjoyed our stay in this house; it is a light and pleasant place with a stunning view! We were also very happy with the excellent oven and washing facilities (Miele). We went on some lovely walks in the mountains around it. There were also some nice toys available for our 4-year-old daughter.

Holiday week at Sycamore House

I really enjoyed it. The apartment itself is very tastefully furnished and in impeccable condition, brand new, with a fantastic view of the mountains. Very nice landlords, who absolutely respect one's privacy, which is personally important to me because I have experienced otherwise. The nature in the surrounding area is truly beautiful. The village character of Braunwald is very endearing, everything is very spacious, no uniform buildings, nowhere are those typical holiday settlements, each house has its own character. The fact that you can only come up and down with the funicular (except not exactly effortlessly on foot...) takes some getting used to. But good. And it's incredibly quiet without car traffic. Conclusion: I will go back to Braunwald at the next opportunity, and above all, the Sycamore house is already my favorite place up there.

Vicinity of the holiday home: Von der Wohnung aus und der umlaufenden Terrasse hat man eine völlig unverstellte und wahrlich überwältigende Sicht auf ein grandioses Bergpanorama und ins Tal hinunter. Die Wohnung im EG ist nicht einsehbar von anderen Chalets aus, d.h. man ist wirklich ungestört. Sehr sonnige Lage, am Waldrand, rundum Wiese. Das Haus liegt in Alleinlage am Hang, nicht sehr weit von der Bergstation und dem Zentrum entfernt, d.h. man schafft es auch noch nach einer anstrengenden Wanderung problemlos hoch, was bei der Weitläufigkeit von Braunwald (die Chalets sind sehr verteilt über ein großes Areal)und der Steilheit des Geländes nicht selbstverständlich ist. Es gibt aber auch Elekrotaxis und Pferdekutschen für Fusslahme. Wandermöglichkeiten hat es zahlreiche in der unmittelbaren Umgebung, d.h. um Braunwald herum auf dem Berg. Wunderschöne Natur, eine unglaublich üppige Flora. Ins Tal runter kann man zu Fuss (allerdings nichts für Knieschwache..) oder mit der Standseilbahn. Alles ist sehr weitläufig in Braunwald oben, die Bebauung, und das inmitten wunderschöner Natur, riesigen Bergahornbäumen, Tannen, Wiesen... Das Glarnertal bietet insgesamt sehr viele Möglichkeiten, es ist jedoch auch nicht weit an den Walensee oder über den Klausenpass an den Vierwaldstätter See.

free time activities: Da ich nur gewandert bin, hier kein weitläufiger Kommentar. Aber es gibt sie zahlreich, wie ich gesehen habe.

shopping facilities: Es gibt 2 (?) Geschäfte in Braunwald oben, ansonsten kann man unten im Tal einkaufen. Grössere Einkäufe kann man per elektromobil an die Wohnung speditieren lassen.

Haus Sycamore, Braunwald

We spent a wonderful week in the snow at House Sycamore. Great for hiking and sledding. The house has a wonderful location and view. A small but nice ski area is practically accessible from the house, depending on snow conditions. Super relaxing, as it is car-free (except for a few exceptions). I have rarely felt so relaxed on a vacation. The owners (Mrs. Hefti) are also very nice people.
