We are thrilled with the accommodation. Everything is well-maintained, clean, and the amenities leave nothing to be desired. If you have any problems or questions, you can always contact the owners or the caretaker. Additionally, you can really enjoy the peace and quiet here. There are plenty of excursions for young and old in the area. Absolutely recommended.

Relaxing vacation in a great house

The house is super equipped and very clean. It has everything you need and much more.
We slept very well on the mattresses. Fly screens are also available.
The house is very quiet, just as we wanted it.
We would like to highlight the warm contact with the Tigges family.

Summer vacation 2023

We can absolutely recommend the vacation home. It is very clean and equipped with everything you need. Even band-aids and heat pads are available and the grill can be used immediately. The terrace is also great with a wonderful view of the area. However, you definitely need a car as it is a bit secluded here. But the peace and quiet was wonderful. And if you want some hustle and bustle, you can quickly reach Velden or Klagenfurt.
We got ourselves a "Kärntencard" and used it extensively (mountain lifts, panoramic roads, Raggaschlucht, Affenberg, Pyramidenkogel...).
The communication with Mr. Tigges is worth mentioning. Not only beforehand, but also during our stay. Always available if there were any questions.
All in all, highly recommended. We felt very comfortable!

Pure deceleration

I was here with my 92 year old mother and we loved it. Despite
despite 2 postponements due to Corona, the Tigges family accompanied us very nicely during this time and made our stay possible. As often described; the house is super furnished and also suitable for older people who can climb 3 steps. We especially enjoyed the late afternoon in the sun with a glass of red wine on the terrace and the wonderful mountain scenery opposite. This also compensates for the long journey from Germany. However, you definitely need a car here, because the house is very remote, as described. The outstanding cleanliness of the house should not go unmentioned. So everything is fine and I recommend it.

Peace and relaxation in the mountains

The house lacks nothing and is very cosily furnished. The location leaves all possibilities open for an infinite number of daily destinations. But there is also much to discover in the immediate vicinity. Ideal for those seeking peace and quiet to recover from the stress of everyday life. Hiking is possible without restrictions and there is much to discover. We would like to come back again and again!

Wonderful stay in a quiet environment

We were able to spend two wonderful weeks in the vacation home and we didn't miss anything. Everything was available, from clothes rack to matches and dish brush. The landlords are very friendly and every question was answered promptly. We also received a lot of information and insider tips.
Even a few surprise gifts were ready for us as a welcome!
The surroundings are very quiet.
Unfortunately, only a few things are within walking distance, as it is a bit off the beaten path. But that was okay for us.
We would love to come back!

Pure nature! Perfect time out in the midst of greenery between deer, mountains and lakes

Everything done right!
We decided at very short notice to spend our holiday in the house of the Tigges family. We found a charming, wonderfully situated and very lovingly furnished holiday home in the cosy Penken settlement with the best equipment (details can be read here in detail - NOTHING is missing!), spotlessly clean, very cosy inside as well as outside on the beautiful terrace with a view of the meadows and mountains - this is how the holiday should begin ;-) In the house you can immediately feel that the owners themselves spend their holidays here and accordingly attach importance to a cosy and homely atmosphere. Cosy, especially because of the wonderful tiled stove in the open living, dining and cooking area
Location, location, location! For every nature lover and hiker, the house shines with its optimal location and top starting position for wonderful tours around the Kathreinkogel, Pyramidenkogel, Keutschacher See & Co. In addition to the house itself, we would definitely like to praise our lovely landlords for their communication in the run-up to our arrival: Always friendly, always informative, quick and above all very committed to all issues that inevitably arose due to the time of travel (Covid19) - totally uncomplicated and therefore anything but a matter of course. Even when we were there, we received regular updates on the situation, which often changed daily - fantastic! All other topics such as our own car park, restaurant recommendations on site (TOP!), information folders with activity suggestions for young and old and for every weather condition as well as numerous hiking routes are lovingly summarised in guest folders in the house! Even if it sounds weird, for us it was perfect, we felt "at home" after a few hours - you certainly can't give a holiday home more compliments! In conclusion, all that remains is to say: Servus, we'll be back!

Not the first and not the last time ?

Since we were there for the fifth time in 10 years, we must have liked it!! The peace and the surroundings are fantastic. In about a 15-minute drive, you can reach Lake Wörthersee. Trips to Italy and Slovenia are possible in about 1 hour of driving. Over the years, the house has been continually modernized (dishwasher, new windows, mattresses, carport...). The contact with the owner, Fam. Tigges, is excellent because he cares that the guests feel comfortable. ☝️However, it is not possible without a car!!!

Great vacation, pure relaxation

The apartment is very lovingly furnished and has everything you need. Whether as a couple or family, the apartment is large enough and even in bad weather, you like to stay inside. With nice weather, you have a beautiful panoramic view and can admire nature. The car has its own parking space. The way to the house is uphill, but no problem by car. We were not there for the last time.

Schönes ruhiges Ferienhaus

We have been to this house several times before. It is very well-kept and located in a peaceful and idyllic setting. Even without children, you can have wonderfully relaxing days here. If you prefer a livelier atmosphere, you can quickly reach places like Lake Wörthersee, Velden, or Klagenfurt. Hikes are possible directly from the house if you don't want to climb high mountains. The mountains are also easily accessible by car after a short drive. Prima is a place to stay if you simply want to relax and seek absolute relaxation. However, having your own car is essential. A holiday in this very well-equipped small holiday home is definitely recommended by us.

Entspannte Tage in Österreich

Once arrived, one can actually switch off their mind and enjoy the wonderful view that this house offers! Quietly situated on a slope, you will find the relaxation you seek from everyday life. We had great days in this cozy holiday home. The equipment is particularly notable, you truly lack nothing here! After a short walk, you reach one of the most delicious restaurants we have visited in the region. We would come back anytime!

Second Home

We have been guests in Penken since February 2006 and always enjoy coming back. Great location with a distant view, superb amenities like at home, cozy & clean. Even after years, there is always something new to discover in every holiday, whether in the house or in the surrounding area, no boredom arises. If we want hustle and bustle, we are quickly at the lake, and for peace, we enjoy the terrace. We are already looking forward to the next holiday in Penken.

Traumhafte Lage

Everything is perfect here! A tiny downside for us was that you have to drive to get the bread in the morning. The swimming pool right by the lake is a dream.
