Greetings in Penken! We would like to welcome you in our detached holiday home in the immediate vicinity of the idyllic Lake Wörthersee. Where deer graze on lush meadows and the peaks of the Villacher Alpe and the Karawanken glisten in the sun, your temporary home is located. In the middle of nature, at the edge of the Turia Forest, recreation begins.
The holiday home with a living space of 87 sqm offers space for up to four adults plus toddler
Smaller guests are very welcome, for them there is a sandpit with various sand toys right next to the terrace. For the kids there is a great selection in the house such as a children's travel bed, high chair, children's table with stool, children's crockery, children's cutlery, play kitchen, books, games, puzzles, skipping rope, football goal (to assemble), table tennis bats, badminton bats, boccia, paddling pool, ..
You enter your temporary home through a small hallway and get directly into the large living-dining area with open kitchen. The rooms can be heated with a cosy tiled stove or electrically. The living room is very spacious and bright and friendly due to a large window front. WLAN, telephone (for a fee) and a flat-screen TV with satellite system, a DVD player and a music system with connection for iPhone/iPod leave nothing to be desired
The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, oven, fridge-freezer, microwave, hand or floor vacuum cleaner, toaster, egg boiler, Nespresso and coffee filter machine, WMF smoothie maker, kettle, Brita filter, bread cutter, baking tins, basic equipment such as salt, pepper, spices etc
The two bedrooms each have a double bed x m with pillows and blankets for allergy sufferers, built-in wardrobe with integrated lockable compartment, sideboard, dressing table with large mirror and one washing facility each.
In the bathroom there is a shower with real glass partition and washbasin as well as a washing machine (top loader). The toilet is located in a separate room, which is accessible from the corridor. Washing machine on request
In the storeroom there is enough space for your suitcases and leisure equipment. You will also find an electric grill, vacuum cleaner, ironing board, iron etc
The house is surrounded by a garden of about 200 square meters. The terrace, which is partly covered by an awning, invites you to relax. At the large table up to 6 people can be comfortably seated. There are also 2 sun loungers with a large parasol at your disposal. From your sun loungers you can enjoy the unspoilt view over meadows and forests to the Kathreinkogel and in the distance to the Karawanken. The evening sunset can be enjoyed from the terrace with a cosy glass of wine
The windows of the two bedrooms, kitchen and WC are each equipped with insect screens
Your vehicle is protected and safe in our own carport
So that your holiday can start directly, a small basic equipment is available to you as a welcome present with two rolls of toilet paper, a roll of kitchen paper, dishwasher tabs, detergent, dishwasher sponge, sponge cloth, dishwashing brush as well as salt, pepper and sugar. The first cup of coffee is also provided!
A laundry package is available on request, this includes Bed linen, shower towel, towel, tea towels per person for 12,50 €.
The house is of course equipped with smoke detectors, fire extinguisher and "first aid kit".
In Schiefling am See (the centre of the village is km away) there are shops for daily needs, such as Billa grocery, bakery, pizzeria, inn, bike rental at the municipal office.

Our holiday home is located in the village of Penken, which belongs to Schiefling am See, in a quiet holiday home settlement 600 m above the Wörthersee on the edge of the Turia Forest.

Relaxing vacation in a great house
The house is super equipped and very clean. It has everything you need and much more.
We slept very well on the mattresses. Fly screens are also available.
The house is very quiet, just as we wanted it.
We would like to highlight the warm contact with the Tigges family.
We felt very comfortable overall.

Summer vacation 2023
We can absolutely recommend the vacation home. It is very clean and equipped with everything you need. Even band-aids and heat pads are available and the grill can be used immediately. The terrace is also great with a wonderful view of the area. However, you definitely need a car as it is a bit secluded here. But the peace and quiet was wonderful. And if you want some hustle and bustle, you can quickly reach Velden or Klagenfurt.
We got ourselves a "Kärntencard" and used it extensively (mountain lifts, panoramic roads, Raggaschlucht, Affenberg, Pyramidenkogel...).
The communication with Mr. Tigges is worth mentioning. Not only beforehand, but also during our stay. Always available if there were any questions.
All in all, highly recommended. We felt very comfortable!

Beautiful holiday

Pure deceleration
I was here with my 92 year old mother and we loved it. Despite
despite 2 postponements due to Corona, the Tigges family accompanied us very nicely during this time and made our stay possible. As often described; the house is super furnished and also suitable for older people who can climb 3 steps. We especially enjoyed the late afternoon in the sun with a glass of red wine on the terrace and the wonderful mountain scenery opposite. This also compensates for the long journey from Germany. However, you definitely need a car here, because the house is very remote, as described. The outstanding cleanliness of the house should not go unmentioned. So everything is fine and I recommend it.

Peace and relaxation in the mountains
The house lacks nothing and is very cosily furnished. The location leaves all possibilities open for an infinite number of daily destinations. But there is also much to discover in the immediate vicinity. Ideal for those seeking peace and quiet to recover from the stress of everyday life. Hiking is possible without restrictions and there is much to discover. We would like to come back again and again!

Wonderful stay in a quiet environment
We were able to spend two wonderful weeks in the vacation home and we didn't miss anything. Everything was available, from clothes rack to matches and dish brush. The landlords are very friendly and every question was answered promptly. We also received a lot of information and insider tips.
Even a few surprise gifts were ready for us as a welcome!
The surroundings are very quiet.
Unfortunately, only a few things are within walking distance, as it is a bit off the beaten path. But that was okay for us.
We would love to come back!

Pure nature! Perfect time out in the midst of greenery between deer, mountains and lakes
Everything done right!
We decided at very short notice to spend our holiday in the house of the Tigges family. We found a charming, wonderfully situated and very lovingly furnished holiday home in the cosy Penken settlement with the best equipment (details can be read here in detail - NOTHING is missing!), spotlessly clean, very cosy inside as well as outside on the beautiful terrace with a view of the meadows and mountains - this is how the holiday should begin ;-) In the house you can immediately feel that the owners themselves spend their holidays here and accordingly attach importance to a cosy and homely atmosphere. Cosy, especially because of the wonderful tiled stove in the open living, dining and cooking area
Location, location, location! For every nature lover and hiker, the house shines with its optimal location and top starting position for wonderful tours around the Kathreinkogel, Pyramidenkogel, Keutschacher See & Co. In addition to the house itself, we would definitely like to praise our lovely landlords for their communication in the run-up to our arrival: Always friendly, always informative, quick and above all very committed to all issues that inevitably arose due to the time of travel (Covid19) - totally uncomplicated and therefore anything but a matter of course. Even when we were there, we received regular updates on the situation, which often changed daily - fantastic! All other topics such as our own car park, restaurant recommendations on site (TOP!), information folders with activity suggestions for young and old and for every weather condition as well as numerous hiking routes are lovingly summarised in guest folders in the house! Even if it sounds weird, for us it was perfect, we felt "at home" after a few hours - you certainly can't give a holiday home more compliments! In conclusion, all that remains is to say: Servus, we'll be back!

Nicht das erste und nicht das letzte mal ?
Da wir das fünfte mal in 10 Jahren dort waren, muss es uns gefallen haben!! Die Ruhe und die Umgebung sind traumhaft. In ca. 15 Minuten Fahrzeit ist man am Wörthersee. Ausflüge nach Italien und Slowenien sind in ca. 1 Stunde Fahrzeit möglich. In den Jahren wurde das Haus immer weiter modernisiert ( Spülmaschine, neue Fenster, Matratzen, Car Port.....).
Der Kontakt zum Eigentümer Fam. Tigges ist super, da es ihm am Herzen liegt, dass die Gäste sich wohl fühlen.
☝️Ohne Auto geht es aber nicht!!!

Toller Urlaub,pure Entspannung
Die Wohnung ist sehr liebevoll eingerichtet und verfügt über alles was man benötigt. Ob als Paar oder Familie,die Wohnung ist groß genug und auch bei schlechtem Wetter bleibt man mal gerne drinnen. Bei schönem Wetter hat man einen schönen Weitblick und kann die Natur bewundern. Das Auto hat einen eigenenen Stellplatz.Der Weg zum Haus geht gut bergauf,aber mit dem Auto kein Problem. Wir waren nicht zum letzten mal dort.

Schönes ruhiges Ferienhaus
Wir waren schon öfter in diesem Haus. Es ist sehr gepflegt und absolut ruhig und idyllisch gelegen. Auch ohne Kinder kann man darin super erholsame Tage erleben. Will man es etwas lebhafter, ist man schnell z.B. am Wörthersee, in Velden oder in Klagenfurt. Wanderungen sind direkt vom Haus möglich, wenn man keinen hohen Berg erklimmen möchte. Die Berge sind mit dem Auto aber ebenfalls nach kurzer Fahrt erreichbar. Prima ist ein Aufenthalt, wenn man einfach einmal die Seele baumeln lassen möchte und absolute Entspannung sucht. Ein eigenes Auto ist allerdings unabkömmlich. Ein Urlaub in diesem sehr gut ausgestatteten kleinen Fereienhaus ist in jedem Fall von uns zu empfehlen ...

Entspannte Tage in Österreich
Einmal angekommen, kann man eigentlich direkt den Kopf abschalten und die wundervolle Aussicht die dieses Haus bietet, genießen!
Ruhig an einem Hang gelegen, findet man hier die Erholung die man vom Alltag sucht.
Wir hatten tolle Tage in diesem gemütlichen Ferienhaus.
Besonders hervorzuheben ist die Ausstattung, es fehlt einem hier wirklich an nichts!
Nach einem kurzen Spaziergang erreicht man eins der leckersten Restaurants, die wir in der Region besucht haben.
Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen!

Zweites Zuhause
Wir sind seit Februar 2006 Gäste in Penken und kommen immer wieder gern zurück. Tolle Lage mit Fernblick, super Ausstattung wie zu Hause, Gemütlich & Sauber. In jedem Urlaub gibt es auch nach Jahren immer wieder etwas Neues zu entdecken, ob im Haus oder in der Umgebung, es kommt keine Langeweile auf. Wenn wir Trubel haben wollen, ist man schnell am See und bei Ruhe genießt man die Terrasse. Wir freuen uns schon auf den nächsten Urlaub in Penken.

Traumhafte Lage
Hier stimmt alles!
Ein winzig kleiner Nachteil für uns war, dass man die Brötchen morgens mit dem Auto holen muss.
Das Scgwimmbad direkt am See ist ein Traum.
