Welcome! This great, spacious & comfortable olive grove farmhouse offers superb views over The Leaning Tower & city of Pisa, just 8kms away. It is one of two houses available on the estate. They have big rooms, cool furniture, verandas, sun terrace & great decor. On site is a fabulous salt water pool, ample lounging area plus a poolside shower that pours out of an olive tree!! Top pizza oven! Great wi fi. With a soundproofed on site recording studio - just ask !! Near to good beaches & the historic cities of Pisa, Lucca & Florence.

La Lucertola is perfectly located to make the most of the glories of Tuscany. This is an ideal location for both city and country breaks.

On site we have a great salt water swimming pool. On site we have a beautiful olive grove which offers great walking in nature. La Lucertola is in the midst of an area of outstanding natural beauty. Bird watching, hiking, old castles, great opportunities for photography or painting, and getting back close to nature.

Pisa, with her world famous & iconic Leaning Tower, is just 20 minutes away and clearly visible from the houses, sun terrace, swimming pool and olive grove.

The price includes cleaning, towels, sheets, water, gas, electricity, pool, wood for pizzas & bbq. There is a tourist tax of €1,50 per adult for the first 5 days of the stay - maximum costs is €7,50 per person.

Cancellation terms:

In the event that a booking is made less than 4 weeks prior to arrival, payments should be made in two instalments: 50% of total rental price at time of booking and 50% of total rental price 2 weeks prior to arrival. Cancellations – 8 weeks prior to arrival – 100% return of all monies paid 4 – 8 weeks prior to arrival – 50% return of all monies paid Less than 4 weeks prior to arrival no return of money

We live in a separate house on the land. We are often present but never invasive. We have lived here since 2002 and we know our way round. We can give top tips on restaurants, bars, sightseeing, museums, events, sporting activites - you name it! We love living here and what we've learned along the way we happily share with guests.

A perfect countryside location with a balance of country yet easy proximity to village, town, city, beach, hills and mountains. Culture on hand with Pisa and Lucca; also Calci, Vicopisano, Motecarlo Di Lucca, and many other gems.

Beautiful property, within such a short drive of the airport. We have had a fantastic time. Really enjoyed having the pool and creating our own pizzas in the pizza oven and topping with fresh herbs from the garden. Luisa and Colin were great hosts and always available when needed to answer questions and help with the fire! We would loved to return and recommend to friends.

A highlight of the farmhouse is the terrace with a view all the way to Pisa.

"Luisa and Collin are very, very pleasant hosts! Luisa responded immediately to all emails and questions in advance and provided helpful tips. She did everything to make our family's (3.5 years and 3 months) stay as enjoyable as possible. Farmhouse II is well equipped, and although the outside temperatures were already high, it stayed nice and cool inside. We were four adults and two children. Farmhouse I would offer slightly larger bedrooms." It went perfectly anyway. We also didn't spend much time in the room. A highlight of the farmhouse is the terrace with a view all the way to Pisa, where you can have a wonderful breakfast and dinner, and the new swimming pool. A great refreshment after trips to Pisa or Lucca, view included.

The Farmhouse has a fantastic view and you can see the whole way to Pisa

The Farmhouse has a fantastic view and you can see the whole way to Pisa. The road up to the house is very steep so a bit challenging to drive at night. The house is cosy and clean with a small area outside to have dinner and 2 sun beds. We stayed in the first apartment and had 2 bedrooms, 1 with 3 beds for the children and the other room had 2 single beds. The Pool is nice but shared with the other guests. The garden has tomatoes, herbs, salads and fruit trees, and you can pick What you need. The owners of the house are very nice and welcoming.

Superb house with a fantastic view

"Superb house with a fantastic view of Pisa and its region. We were happy to be able to recharge in peace after a day of visiting. The house was comfortable for us with its 2 large bedrooms and well-equipped kitchen. Luisa kindly lent us a baby bed as well as toy boxes for the children. She speaks French very well, which facilitates communication and was very good advice for the restaurant and the grocery store located in the village right next door." Our only regret was coming too late in the season and not being able to enjoy the beautiful pool! A big thank you to Luisa and her family for their kindness and the pleasant stay we had with them!

Luisa and Colin have a beautiful estate with a magnificent view.

Luisa and Colin have a beautiful property with a magnificent view. We rented both houses for a family gathering and enjoyed all the amenities from the pool to the well-equipped kitchens, the large terrace, the outdoor pizza oven, and the fresh vegetables and herbs from the garden. We also enjoyed an evening with the restaurant-at-home chefs who prepared an amazing meal from local ingredients. The only disadvantage was the very steep and windy road, which was not easy to maneuver with an 8-person van and caused a bit of stress when getting on and off. In large groups, two cars drive, then it is easy. Overall, however, we had an unforgettable experience at La Lucertola and can highly recommend it!

This house is simply amazing!

“This house is simply amazing! It was even better than the pictures. Great pool area with 8 proper sun beds and a small table with chairs for the late night drink. Amazing bbq and pizza oven facilities, both bedrooms were spacious and comfortable beds with a balcony and view over Pisa. Dining table on the front with a great view and with a small roof and curtains around to block sun out during lunch and created a nice cozy feeling in the evening. Luisa and her husband where very helpful and nice in all ways without being intrusive. Great tips for restaurants and places to go, beds made up when we came, a cold bottle of beer/wine prepared when we arrived. Cleaning included and in general just nice people. We are already thinking about going back as it was perfect for us when traveling with couples and friends. We where 5 people (all around 30 years old) during the week but could have been 6 without it being tight with space. Location is great but car is absolutely necessary. 20 min to Pisa town, 30-40 min to the coast, Cinque Terre 2 hours away, under an hour to Florence. So I would recommend it to anyone – families or groups of friends. It suits everyone!”

La Lucertola is a feast for the senses

La Lucertola is a feast for the senses; beautiful vistas of Pisa and the distant chiming of the church bells from small towns below. You will be surrounded by the floral scents of jasmine and native flowers, olive trees, and vineyards on the hillside and valley below. The saltwater pool and patios were a special place from which to relax and be taken in by the natural beauty of this location in Tuscany. Colin and Luisa were very friendly, gracious, knowledgeable, and gave great recommendations for local restaurants and sightseeing – they really went above and beyond to help make our stay memorable. We elected to try the “Restaurant at Home” at La Lucertola and had a wonderful experience – probably the best eating experience we had in Italy and an evening to remember for a lifetime. Our hosts and the chef Maximiliano were attentive to our menu input and the results were stunning. We would highly recommend this. Our experiences at La Lucertola were spectacular and we are delighted to have made this choice.

The accommodation was ideal for our needs.

We are a family with 2 young children, and Granny, staying for 4 nights to end off our Italian holiday. The views cannot be put into words they are so stunning. The accommodation was ideal for our needs, Luisa and Colin could not have been more helpful with tips and hints for our stay. The pool is just what is needed after a days exploring the locality. The location is ideal for exploring Tuscany, close to Pisa and Lucca, a short drive from the coast and trains from Pisa to Florence easy. A car is and absolute essential! Thank you for a wonderful trip.

We had an amazing 4 nights at Colin and Louisa’s farmhouse.

We had an amazing 4 nights at Colin and Louisa’s farmhouse. The setting for the pool is stunning with a lovely outdoor table area outside the house. Fresh lettuce was a delicious! We didn’t have time to make use of the bbq and pizza oven unfortunately. Make sure you buy some of their home grown olive oil. Colin and Louisa were great hosts, very accommodating and gave us lots of useful hints and tips! Highly recommended a stay here.
