Attractive 4-room apartment for up to 5 (max. 6) people on the ground floor of an authentic Goms house in the sunny Obergoms.
The over 200-year-old Goms house is located in Oberwald in the Unterwassern part of the village, right in the middle of an intact village setting. The house was thoroughly renovated in 1999 and the ground floor apartment was completely renewed in 2005, while the original character was preserved. In addition to a 25m2 living room, there is a bedroom with 2 bunk beds, one with two single beds, and one with a double bed (140 cm wide) and an additional washbasin, as well as a cot available. The small but practical bathroom has a shower, washbasin, and toilet. The separate, spacious kitchen is modern and well equipped. The cellar offers enough space for sports equipment including bicycles. Free WiFi.

The over 200-year-old Goms house is located in Oberwald in the Unterwassern part of the village, right in the middle of an intact village setting. The house was thoroughly renovated in 1999 and the apartment on the ground floor was completely refurbished in 2005, with special emphasis placed on preserving the original character. The combination of old and new building elements gives the apartment a special charm. The house has good thermal insulation. In the house there is a practically identical apartment on the 1st floor with a balcony, which is also for rent. The sunny Valais wooden house in block construction is surrounded by a large vegetable garden (southeast), the St. Christophorus Chapel (southwest), and an old wooden barn each (northwest and northeast). Oberwald is the first Valais municipality on the young Rhone (called Rotten here) and is located, so to speak, at the foot of the Rhone Glacier. Access is possible both via Lucerne-Göschenen-Andermatt-Realp-Furka Pass (in summer) or Furka Tunnel with car transport (in winter), as well as from Valais (Lake Geneva-Sion-

The Obergoms is especially well known as a cross-country skiing paradise and is very snow-sure. The "House by the Chapel" is ideally located for cross-country skiers. The beautiful 4 km long forest trail begins right behind the house. Another 100 km of trails await you in the valley. Oberwald, situated at 1370 m, is extremely snow-sure thanks to its location on the central Alpine massif. Further winter sports activities such as winter hiking (approx. 50 km), snowshoeing on marked routes, and countless ski tours await you. But alpine skiers also get their money's worth. Bellwald, Aletscharena Fiesch, and Andermatt can all be reached by train or car in 30 - 60 minutes. The cellar offers enough space for sports equipment.
Obergoms also has a lot to offer in summer. Possible sports: hiking, biking, inline skating, golfing (at the nearby 9-hole course "Source du Rhône" in Obergesteln), all the way to mountaineering in all its forms. But you can also simply enjoy the wonderful air with an exciting book and a good glass of Valais wine. The nearby playground and picnic area "Pische" invites you to linger, a paradise for families with children. Lovers of classical music will get their money's worth in nearby Ernen (bus from Oberwald). Or how about a ride on the post bus over the four nearby Alpine passes or with the Furka steam railway between Oberwald and Realp. Have fun! Off-season, a special treat for connoisseurs and those who prefer things a bit quieter:
In June, the mountain meadows covered with alpine flowers are hardly to be surpassed in beauty. October and November can also be very charming, when a thick layer of fog lies in the lowlands and up here the larch forests glow in the golden autumn sun! Just give it a try. You will find some tips in the documents in the apartment or, even better, you can get advice at the Oberwald travel agency (Post).

My name is Peter Spinnler. I live with my wife in Mettmenstetten in the canton of Zurich/Switzerland. Since 1983 we have owned this holiday house in Oberwald, the first municipality in Valais after the Furka Pass. We love this area because of its natural diversity in all seasons. My favorite activities in Goms are cross-country skiing, ski touring, snowshoeing, and winter hiking in winter, and mountain hiking, mountaineering, berry and mushroom picking in summer. I spend about 2 months per year in the beautiful Goms. At now 76 years old, I move a bit more leisurely than before, which gives me more time for the small beautiful things along the way. My preferred seasons are winter and autumn. I enjoy the local dishes and the variety of Valais wines.
