The modern, high-quality equipped kitchen integrates perfectly into the living and dining room, which offers enough space for 6 people. The bathroom on the ground floor is equipped with a spacious sauna. Here you will also find a utility room with washing machine and dryer
Upstairs there are two bedrooms, each with a double bed. On the gallery there are two single beds in a separate room. There is also a second shower room

The log cabin is located directly on the edge of the forest to the Brocken hiking trail in a dreamy, quiet south-facing location at an altitude of 622 m at the foot of the Brocken peak, approx. 5 km away, with a view of the Wurmberg and the village of Schierke. The dreamy mountain village lies at an altitude of 622 m and offers many leisure activities and pure relaxation in summer as well as in winter. The Brockenbahn railway station is about a 10-minute walk away. Hiking trails and cross-country skiing tracks can be reached directly from the house. Baker, supermarket, restaurant, savings bank or café are only a few minutes away. Wernigerode and Braunlage are only a few minutes away by car. At the entrance to Schierke you will find the Brockencoaster (bobsleigh run) - fun for the whole family.
Cross-country skiing, downhill skiing (on the neighbouring Wurmberg) or horse-drawn sleigh rides in winter, horse-drawn carriage rides, horse riding, mountain biking, Nordic walking, climbing or hiking in summer - Schierke offers you a wide range of leisure activities.
A holiday without a car is possible.

| We reserve the right to rent out only on a weekly basis during the high season. Please enquire about bookings shorter than the minimum stay! In the holidays, arrival and departure preferably at the weekend. Attention: additional costs: Linen is included in the price. Shower mats, kitchen towels are available. Attention: the energy costs will be charged according to actual consumption (meter reading) at departure. Electricity: currently 0,37 €/kw/h, water/waste water: currently 9,00 €/m³ - subject to price changes of the providers. Please transfer the deposit. This will be refunded minus the energy costs 2 weeks after departure at the latest. Visitor's tax will be charged according to the local tariff. Please pay in cash on arrival. The first supply includes washing-up liquid, soap, dishwasher tablets, toilet paper. |
Cancellation terms:
If the tenant cancels the rental agreement up to 6 weeks before the trip, we will charge a cancellation fee of €50.00. If the tenant cancels within 6 weeks prior to the trip, we will charge 50% of the total accommodation costs; if cancellation occurs within 4 weeks prior to the trip, we will charge 100% of the accommodation costs. We recommend taking out travel cancellation insurance. In the event of a lodging ban in our district, no cancellation is necessary. You can rebook or have your rent already paid refunded to you.

Relaxing week in Schierke
We had a very nice and relaxing sunny week in Harz. The holiday home is very well equipped and located in a quiet side street. Very nice house manager. Contact with the landlords works smoothly.

We stayed in this beautiful house for a short holiday and could start hiking tours directly from there.
The house leaves nothing to be desired and is ideal for all seasons.

Nice relaxing vacation
My friend and I spent a relaxing week in this beautiful log cabin.
The location is great, right by the forest, from where you can start many hikes directly. There are nice cafes and restaurants in the village.
The house is very spacious, there is a lot of light, the furnishings are perfect, and it is really very clean.
One should note that there is no direct garden for this house, but there are 3 large spacious terraces that are surrounded by beautiful bushes and flowers and therefore cannot be seen. You really have your peace and quiet here.
We felt very comfortable and can recommend it.
The contact with the landlords went smoothly and was very nice and relaxed. The key handover also went smoothly.

Totally thrilled! Super idyllic!
"We were in June with four people in this dreamlike log cabin and were immediately in love with the decor upon arrival. The handover was very friendly and smooth, as was the reading of the meters. We were also impressed with how clean and well-maintained everything was. The location of the house is wonderful. Really right on the edge of the forest and you can start various hikes from the house (e.g. to various cliffs or directly to the Brocken). The Brocken train is also not far. The house is very well equipped. Even spices and small things like a potato peeler are available. We also used the sauna for a day. Very pleasant. The different possibilities to sit outside are also great. (Three terraces, two covered - we even sat outside during a thunderstorm.) All I can say is that we were completely blown away and will definitely come back. Thank you very much for this great stay and greetings from Hamburg!"

Then we were infected: our first holiday home was built in 2010, two more in 2015/2016 The beautiful surroundings of Schierke offer its guests to get to know nature at any time of the year. Bizarre rock cliffs and enchanted forests invite you to hike and climb. The snowy landscape remains unforgettable. The proximity to the alpine skiing area of Braunlage is also beautiful.
