Description
"Des Lehrers Haus" - built in 1929 by the head teacher Alwin Schulze from Gittersee and lovingly renovated in 2018 by his grandson Frank Schulze - is located in a quiet residential area on the southern outskirts of Dresden and, with its shady garden, is a relaxing place to take time out. Up to ten guests will find a temporary home on two floors. Due to its layout, it is just as suitable for a three-generation family holiday as it is for lovely days spent with friendly couples
The three rooms on the first floor allow for peace and retreat: the garden room is equipped with a day bed for one or two guests (80/160 x 200 cm). The small room has a double bed measuring 160 x 200 cm. Space for families with children is offered by the large room with a double bed (160 x 200 cm) and a cosy alcove in the bay window (lying surface 140 x 200 cm). All rooms are furnished with sufficient storage space and a desk with chair.
On the ground floor, the large living and dining area with open kitchen and a long table is the central point of the house and invites you to cook, eat, chat and play together. The retreat here is the reading and TV room with many books and games right next door. In this room we can offer two extra beds in addition to the eight beds on the upper floor.
A terrace staircase leads from the kitchen into the garden: a green oasis with large fruit trees - snacking is of course allowed. Chairs and tables are available for eating outside, as well as a large barbecue and a fireplace.
There are bathrooms with floor-level shower, washbasin and WC on both floors. We provide towels and bed linen, as well as equipment for small guests (travel cot, high chair, baby bath, toilet seat and step).

Location and surroundings of object
Des Lehrers Haus is located in a quiet residential area with detached and semi-detached houses on the southern outskirts of Dresden. The A17 Dresden-Prague motorway is only 5 minutes away by car (Dresden-Südvorstadt exit), and Dresden's main railway station is only 15 minutes away by city bus.
The city centre can be reached conveniently and comfortably in just under half an hour by public transport, which, by the way, runs throughout the night. The nearest bus stop is less than 5 minutes' walk from the house, the tram stop 15 minutes
Dresden offers a colourful variety: baroque splendour with the palace and Zwinger, resurrected buildings such as the Frauenkirche and Neumarkt, high culture and the scene between the Semper Opera, the State Operetta, cabaret and jazz, museums with world-class paintings, on transport and military history or on questions of life, and an impressive location on the Elbe, which meanders through wide meadows in the middle of the city.
If you are in the mood for nature and sporting activities, the nearby Osterzgebirge mountains with their mining traditions and bobsleigh run are just as easy to reach as Saxon Switzerland with its sandstone cliffs. Culture lovers will not only find many interesting things to do in Dresden itself, but will also get their money's worth in the Cinderella Castle Moritzburg or in charming Meissen with its cathedral and porcelain manufactory. Technology fans should not miss the nearby narrow-gauge railways with steam operation, an electric tram in the middle of the mountains, mountain railways in Dresden and the historic paddle steamers on the Elbe
We will be happy to help you put together your varied travel programme.

additional information:
in 1929, Alwin Schulze (1889-1969), a senior teacher in the community of Gittersee near Dresden, built a house for his family. It was only the second house on the street at the time. Gittersee has grown since then and became a district of Dresden in 1945. "His" school is now the 80th primary school in Dresden.
In 2017/18, the teacher's house was painstakingly and carefully renovated by his grandson Frank Schulze to revive the character of the house and garden from the time it was built. Now it is available as a holiday home for eight to ten guests.

Simply beautiful
We, a group of seniors, were very excited and curious.
All, and I mean all, expectations were exceeded by 100%.
A lot has already been written and rated, and that is also 100% true; we gladly join in.
Our group sincerely thanks Ms. Frister and Mr. Schulz.
Today we give it a 100, so a full 100% recommendation.

A holiday home that leaves nothing to be desired.
We were able to spend a nice long weekend in Dresden with our group. The house exceeded our expectations. It offers a very well-equipped kitchen that makes cooking enjoyable. For fresh rolls in the morning, there is also a bakery just around the corner, and those who wish can buy a Dresden Christstollen at the factory outlet (also only 3 minutes away). The house is also well-equipped, and all questions could already be clarified in advance through direct contact with the landlords. The house is easily accessible, and for excursions into the city, the car can be safely left behind, as the public transport stop is just two streets away, from where you can reach downtown Dresden in a short time. We can only recommend this beautiful holiday home.

A holiday home to feel good
We felt very comfortable in the holiday home. The furnishings are lovingly put together, the bathrooms and kitchen are modernly equipped. The house has been able to preserve the charm of its construction in the 1920s, coupled with today's expectations of modern sanitary and kitchen facilities. A very successful combination.
We were there with the children and grandchildren. We quickly reached the city center by tram. We were able to reach destinations in the surrounding area easily by car. We could park the vehicles on the property.
The landlords are very friendly and gladly advised us on which destinations in the area are worth a trip.
We can only recommend this accommodation. This is the unanimous opinion of all 3 generations. Thank you very much!

Mega beautiful house!!!
We stayed as a group of girls (6 of us in total) in this wonderful accommodation. Choosing this house was truly a stroke of luck. The landlords are really nice and the communication was really commendable. We were all very satisfied. The house was lovingly furnished and the equipment is really well thought out. Everything you need is there. It's very clean! The garden is amazing. I would also like to mention that the house is really well located. It's about a 15-minute walk to the tram and you can quickly get to the city center. We would love to come back. We all felt very comfortable! Thank you very much!

Wunderbares Ferienhaus
We spent four days in the teacher's house with three generations (children, parents, grandparents). A beautiful and lovingly renovated house, perfectly and thoughtfully equipped. The large dining table provided enough space for all of us, we could play and watch TV in the living room, slept wonderfully in the beds, and the quiet residential area despite the fast connection to Dresden's city center is great! The garden is large and invites to play and romp around. The diverse selection of books and DVDs helped us pass the rainy days.
Many thanks to the attentive and warm hosts for this unforgettable short vacation - we will happily come back!
