Description
Our Grosshinterberger hut offers space for a maximum of 8 people. The hut is a self-catering hut in a secluded location, surrounded by forest and alpine pastures and stands on a large, south-facing alpine meadow on the Saualpe with a magnificent view over the entire Lavant Valley.
This cosy hut was built in 1950 and is run as an alpine guesthouse. The rear part of the hut was formerly used as a stable. In 2003 we renovated the hut with great attention to detail. Improvements are constantly being made, e.g. new windows made of solid larch wood were installed in 2014.
The Großhinterbergerhütte is easy to reach by car (partly gravel road), directly in front of the hut there is enough space to park the vehicles. The road is also passable in winter, but snow chains are absolutely necessary in the cold season!

Location and surroundings of object
Our large Hinterberger cabin sits on a large, south-facing alpine meadow on the Saualpe, with stunning views over the whole of southern Lavanttal. We are undoubtedly in favor of landscapes in southern Austria. Almost nowhere else are there so many sunny days as here. The Carinthia's Lavant Valley is traditionally considered the "paradise of Carinthia". Our farm is situated on a south-east hill with sweeping views over a large part of the Lavant Valley.
