In the so called Chorus of the Monk is the painting collection of the Art Gallery (Pinacoteca), with works by Bartolomeo della Gatta. VAL DI CHIANADuring the Tertiary Era, the Valdichiana was part of the Tuscan archipelago; However, during the Quartenary Era the marginal area became part of the sea while creating the deep, creating deep depressions and clay formations, conglomerations and yellow sands. A profound mutation took place when the Volsinii volcanoes formed, including four large craters, which created a transversal barrier. They formed a shell shape in the Valdarno basin to the north and the Paglia depression to the south.

Val di Chiana region south of Arezzo between Val d'Orcia and Val Tiberina was inhabited early on. It gets its name from the river Chiana, and the valley is a natural communication route between the provinces of Arezzo and Siena. The present-day appearance of the Val di Chiana is the result of marsh drainage and reclamation work that was started by the Romans and carried out right through the 20th century. Lake Chiusi and the very small lake at Montepulciano.

Montepulciano is the most important town in the valley and the 16th century fortifications designed by Antonio da Sangallo the Elder are still standing. Piazza Grande, a square of the city, Piazza Grande, is an example of Renaissance urban design.

The historic part of Chianciano is located on a hill and thanks to the fact that the large, modern, thermal bath complex has been built in. Chianciano Terme is a modern and functional town of Chianciano Terme.

The town of Chiusi is located in the hilly area in the south of the Val di Chiana and has the oldest origins of the settlements in the valley; recent finds indicated there was settlement here in the Bronze Age.

San Casciano Bagni is the southernmost municipality in the Val di Chiana, on the border with Lazio and Umbria. Its most distinctive feature is its thermal springs (the third largest in Europe).

THEME DINNERSSince Giovanna works with a limited number of participants, she has dedicated herself to the research of those details that make the difference.

Precious embroidered tablecloths, which have been hosting meals since more than half a century, silver cutlery and hand-decorated dishes. A sober but elegant table, which aims to surprise guests.
Giovanna is from Florence, so she is particularly fond of traditional dishes such as lampredotto (cow stomach), stern (breast) and tripe (tripe), often presented in unusual and tasty recipes.

Theme dinners based on refined French cuisine, one of Giovanna's great passions.

Our favorite truffle, could not be missing.

The wood-fired oven inside the house is often used to prepare many dishes. Many ingredients, such as eggs, vegetables and olive oil, are mainly organic.

Those who love nature and good food can enjoy trips with professional truffle hunters and sniffer dogs.

GRAB THE UNIQUE CHANCES TO VISIT TO TYPICAL DAIRY FARM CLOSE TO OUR FARMHOUSE, WHICH PRODUCES AND SELLS CHEESE, RICOTTA AND SHEEP'S "PECORINO" IS THE MOST TYPICAL TRADITIONAL TUSCAN description of the product: Seasoned 'pecorino' (sheep's cheese) is about kg, it has a pale yellow texture and small holes. It is seasoned for at least 120 days, and has a strong and slightly spicy flavor. Fresh pecorino cheese is about 1 kg, and has a compact white texture. Seasoning lasts for at least 20 days, although the cheese is usually eaten after 30-45 days.

Ricotta is a dairy product produced by heating the whey left from cheese processing and adding pasteurized milk, whose specific origin - whether sheep, cow or both - gives pecorino its specific name (sheep's ricotta, cow's ricotta, mixed ricotta). Is sold immediately once it is produced. Ricotta has a soft and cream-like texture, and a sweet flavor.
