Small, cozy with compromises.
After a phone call before our departure in Duisburg, we agreed with the landlady on an arrival time between morning and noon. 2 hours before our arrival in Kellenhusen, we contacted her again to provide our estimated arrival time (1:15 pm). Our landlady then asked if we could arrive earlier since she takes a lunch break between 1 and 2:30 pm. After declining this, she said we should just ring the bell and see if she answers. We arrived exactly at 1:15 and no one opened the door! After a 5-hour drive, we were just getting in a bad mood. The apartment looked great at first glance, but even at a height of 1.65 meters, there were issues sitting on the toilet! With some small changes, the equipment could be improved: 2 more glasses, new cups (handles glued), a new toaster (cord broken), and finally new mattresses because the existing ones are very worn out! Overall, we felt comfortable and cleanliness was not lacking either. The accommodation was great for a week.
