Description

Your holiday home is a former village tavern dating from 1602. The listed half-timbered house was extensively renovated in all trades from 2009 to 2011 and today presents itself as a contemporary gem with two living rooms (one with a wood-burning stove and a play corner for the kids), an eat-in kitchen from 2018 with a large old dining table, four bedrooms (three of them with double beds, one with bunk beds), two bathrooms (one with a shower and one with a bathtub), side rooms and a 200 m2 garden. As usual in such an old house, the ceiling heights are lower than in new buildings. The house is located directly in the old village centre of Behringen (near the castle and the church) and has a living area of 120 m2. In the 1st quarter of 2018, all rooms were renovated and newly furnished! In September 2021, the old floorboards were sanded down and resealed in the two living rooms and in one of the bedrooms, the floor coverings were renewed in the other rooms and then the entire house was repainted inside. A small brook flows in front of the property, a bridge leads to the property!
Two parking spaces are directly at the property.
Please note: Bed linen, bath towels and tea towels must be brought from home!

Location and surroundings of object

Behringen is a village with 1600 inhabitants that was first mentioned in documents in the 9th century. With a renovated castle, an old village centre through which a small stream flows, a church and now many renovated houses, Behringen is now a lively little village in which new buildings have been constructed since 1990 and more are being built.
An Edeka market, a butcher's shop, a bakery, a bank and a pharmacy can be found in the village.
Behringen lies directly on the Hanich National Park, and a tourist information centre for the Hainich is located in the village.
The Wartburg Castle, a World Heritage Site, is certainly the most famous sight in the immediate vicinity, the city of Eisenach (with Bach Museum, Luther House and the largest villa colony in Germany) is 16 km away.

How to get there:
Leave the A4 at the Eisenach-Ost exit and drive north on the B84 towards Bad Langensalza. After about 8 km you reach Behringen. Just before the castle, turn left into "Weiße Gasse", after 200 metres you will reach your holiday home, which is on the left side of the road.

Great stay

The von Streit family is a great host. They made our vacation possible (Youth Services). The house is in great condition and very well maintained, which is not often seen. The kitchen is equipped superbly and has everything you need for everyday life. The mattresses in the house are absolutely amazing!!! We all slept so well there. The layout of the bedrooms is also fine. If two families go on vacation together, the children have a separate wing with the other two bedrooms, so you can simply close the door between them and the children can play around without disturbing the adults.
The living room has a regular TV and a Blu-ray player, and the von Streit family even thought of having a lot of movies (including many suitable for children) there. There is also a separate play corner for the little ones and lots of board games.
The location is okay. If you don't mind driving for about 30 minutes, it's great.
If the house had a washing machine, I would give it 5 stars plus :)
The children and we, the supervisors, felt very comfortable and would love to come back anytime. :)

Modern accommodation in half-timbered style

A very beautiful house awaited us on our family weekends. It has been completely renovated and furnished very tastefully. The mattresses in the beds as well as the pillows were very comfortable.
The homeowner as well as the on-site property managers took great care of us.
We will definitely come back again!

Family vacation

We spent a beautiful holiday week with children and grandchildren in the holiday house. The house is modern and practical and offers plenty of space. The furnishings leave nothing to be desired, everything you need has been thought of. The large table in the kitchen invites you to sit comfortably. The specially equipped play area for the children with numerous books, various games, and building blocks is great. Fresh bread and delicious cake are available from the nearby bakery. Thank you - we really liked it. One more suggestion: fly screens for the bedrooms would be helpful.

Modern and tastefully furnished house for feeling comfortable

We spent a wonderful weekend at the old village tavern in Behringen. The house is very tastefully furnished, with a harmonious combination of old and new, and there is enough space for 8 people. There is truly nothing missing in the kitchen, bathroom, and outdoor area - thanks to the landlord for such foresight. The handling of the formalities went smoothly and flexibly, and there is an Edeka in the village where you can even get bread rolls on Sundays. We can only recommend this beautiful accommodation :)
