Just half an hour away from Olbia Airport and Ferry Port, our holiday villa (Stazzu – Sardinian country house) is located high above the Gulf of Arzachena - on the northeastern edge of the Costa Smeralda. Nestled in a monumental rocky landscape with Mediterranean maquis, wild olives, wild pear trees, wild fennel, lavender, myrtle, broom bushes, and rockrose. The 360-degree view from up here is breathtaking. There is always a light breeze, which is particularly pleasant during the summer months.
From the road between Cannigione and Arzachena, a private road about 2 km long, lined with old cork oaks, juniper and maquis vegetation, branches off, leading to our house. The house is built according to ecological principles and is located on a hill in a spacious, partly rocky landscape with the typical Sardinian vegetation. The house is approximately 180m2 and offers ample space and privacy for 6 people with a large pool and spacious garden with plenty of seating.
Up here, away from the noise of the streets, there is a relaxing silence. But within a few minutes, you can reach small, bustling places like Cannigione, Arzachena, San Pantaleo, or Porto Cervo - the center and harbor of the Costa Smeralda. You can expect colorful markets, small cozy cafes and restaurants (recommendations and contacts can be found in our house book on site), individual shops and supermarkets, wonderful beach promenades and playgrounds. In the port of Cannigione, you can rent sailing and motor boats, bicycles, and motorcycles. Here are also the docking places for boat trips to the 60 islands of the "La Maddalena Archipelago" (Arcipelago di La Maddalena). Large parts of the island are protected areas. Corsica is reachable by boat in hardly an hour.
Also in the immediate vicinity are the most beautiful beaches of Sardinia with picturesque coves for snorkeling, diving, and windsurfing. You can also hike through wild landscapes, explore ancient cities and fortifications, prehistoric nuraghes, and excavations. Further north towards Palau, you will find the world-famous windsurfing spot "Porto Pollo" on the peninsula "Isola dei Gabbiani" with windsurfing, kite, foil, diving, and sailing schools for children and adults.
Back at the house, tranquility, relaxation, and a large pool await you for cooling off. And if the weather is not so pleasant: you will find a lot of board games for both adults and children in the house - so there's no chance of getting bored. An integrated home office, with free high-speed internet, facilitates important work. From the open living area with a fireplace, one has a great view over the countryside and the sea. Above the living area, a small staircase leads to a loft for undisturbed retreat with a sofa and reading chair. The dining area, located close to the spacious, open kitchen, has access to the terrace and pool. In the rear part, there are two more bedrooms and two bathrooms. Linen change every 14 days. On the large terrace, which is half-covered, there is an outdoor kitchen built with granite stones, equipped with an electric grill, and an additional dining table for your barbecue evenings. From here, you can access a small solarium with breathtaking views. By the way, all rooms in the house are air-conditioned (use is optional).
You can reach the large pool and shady garden from the terrace. Both are visible from the house. The large pool (about 17.5 x 3.5 x 1.6 m) is also especially suitable for sporty swimming. While swimming, the expansive panorama gives the impression of swimming above the clouds. Use at your own risk – please NEVER let children swim in the pool unsupervised! The pool is open from early April to early November.
A stone staircase within the house leads from the main floor to the garden level apartment. Here is also the utility room with washing machine, dryer, ironing board, etc. The spacious apartment has a kitchen, dining and sleeping areas with a private bathroom. The apartment has a partially covered terrace and its own exit to the garden and pool.
In the house, you will find our house book with important notes, descriptions of restaurants, beaches, markets, attractions, as well as suggestions for excursions. Our house is a non-smoking house. For pet owners: The entire property is fenced with a pasture fence, so that your beloved "actually" cannot escape.
