Less than 1 km away from Via Francigena and 2 km from San Gimignano, the two houses of the "Podere la Proda" are located in a small rural hamlet whose core dates from the Middle Ages.
In the heart of the Tuscan countryside, from the Apuan Alps to Prato Magno, the farmhouse is surrounded by century-old cypresses and an olive grove, and it is surrounded by centuries-old cypresses and an olive grove. Who seeks peace will find it there...
Curiously, after the 1500km long arrival, we explored the area. Thanks to the "roommates" of the other 2 houses, we were able to get a first impression of the location. The landlords were not on-site yet, which had understandable reasons as we could find out afterwards. There was then a very nice reception and we liked the house very much. Quiet, secluded and yet close to the village. The view is fantastic, the furnishings functional and lovingly designed. The garden and the pool invite you to linger and the surroundings can be easily explored on foot. In the small picturesque Monteverdi Marittimo you will find cafes, bakery, restaurants. Small picturesque alleys and flower splendor everywhere. We felt extremely comfortable and are very glad that we decided to stay there. No TV, nothing to distract from nature and peace. We would choose it again and can only recommend it.

beautifully laid out
We stayed in Mandorlo 2. The property on which the houses are located is wonderfully landscaped and well maintained. The pizza oven works very well and the landlords are very friendly and helpful. You can relax very well, everything is very quiet and pure nature. We would love to come back.

we are already the third time here
We stayed at Casa Mandorlo for the third time this year. We would especially like to emphasise the warmth of the owners. We like to come here just because of Cincia and Bisio. The Italian hospitality can be felt everywhere. The accommodation is simple, but equipped with the most important things. The grounds, the pool and the view are simply beautiful. Sitting on the warm steps in the evening and enjoying the sunset and the peace is pure relaxation

We will definitely come again
This is the second time we have stayed in this accommodation, knowing that the furnishings are very basic. But this is compensated by a great location with a view of the Tuscan countryside and a beautiful property.
We had problems with our car this time. The landlords were more than willing to help us with this.

We stayed with our 2 children for 8 days in this very nice cottage. A real hit! Wonderful outdoor seating at the house with a great view of the countryside. Spacious, beautifully landscaped garden. Pool with good sunbeds in front of the nose, a bit outdated, but perfectly suitable. The landlord takes care of everything every day (without disturbing). Everything is perfect (another kettle and cereal bowls and it is even more perfect); absolutely clean, good beds (not too soft), the super nice landlord couple makes a lot of effort (they only speak Italian, but that is not a problem, somehow communication works out anyway). The surrounding villages are more beautiful than the others. Just Tuscany.

we felt very comfortable
We were in Monteverdi Marittimo in July/August 2019 with three related/friendly families (8 adults, 6 children). From the first moment, we felt very comfortable, the communication (in Italian) with our hosts was clear and open. Cinzia and her husband Agostino were always available by phone, friendly and warm, hospitable yet respectful of our privacy. The accommodations are clean and functional, the pool is clean and cleaned almost daily, the view of the surroundings is a dream, Monteverdi is reachable in a 20-minute walk along the road, where there are all the necessary small shops for groceries, a post office, bar, restaurant.
The free and yet uncrowded beach near Castagnetto can be reached in half an hour, landmarks such as Lucca, Pisa, Siena, Volterra, Massa Marittima are up to a 2-hour drive away. If you are looking for tranquility but still want to visit the sights of Tuscany, this is the perfect place! We felt welcomed by Cinzia and Agostino like family, which rarely happens.

We can only recommend the house.
We spent 12 days at CASA SOLE in Monteverdi Marittimo. Very nice house in a quiet location with great facilities. There are many beautiful places in the area. The sea is also not far away. The landlords are very friendly and speak a little German. We can only recommend the house.

we will come back...
We were at Mandorlo 2 in early September. We really liked it. We enjoyed the large garden and of course the pool. The summer heat was bearable due to the almost always blowing breeze. We will definitely come back.
