The municipality of Ostseebad Laboe, with a population of about 1,000, is located directly at the mouth of the Kiel Fjord in the northernmost German state of Schleswig-Holstein. The state capital Kiel is about 20 minutes away by car. The hinterland includes the historic landscape of the Probstei with fields, forests, meadows and lakes.
On the doorstep, so to speak, is the Kiel Fjord, one of the busiest waterways in the world and a sailing mecca par excellence. A little further away, the so-called 'Danish South Sea' begins around the Danish islands of Langeland and Aero.
Laboe was first mentioned in a document in 1240. The name, formerly 'Lubodne', comes from the Slavic, meaning 'swan place'. This graceful large bird is Laboe's heraldic animal and is always present both in the harbour and on the beach.
The dominant factor in the economic life of the village is tourism, in addition to handicrafts, trade and retail. Every year, holidaymakers spend their best days and weeks of the year in our village. The number of day visitors is in the hundreds of thousands.
Laboe is characterised by two different parts with different charm and character, the upper and the lower village. In the first, however, there are hardly any traces of rural agriculture left, only the arrangement of partly historic farmsteads gives an idea of the original settlement form.
In the lower village are the two harbours with space for over 700 boats. Even today, fishermen sail out into the Baltic Sea from here to pursue their hard day's work. In the season, ferryboats call at Laboe daily to ferry guests to Kiel. The fishing boat service is also popular. There are also opportunities to charter sailing boats or to acquire the various sailing licences in sailing schools. A surfing school completes the offer
Laboe's flagship, however, is its long white sandy beach, followed by the gently sloping fjord, an ideal bathing paradise, especially for families with children. If the weather doesn't cooperate, you can always use our indoor seawater pool with sauna area as an alternative. Another big plus is the healthy sea climate that characterises the place. You can see (and feel) it: In Laboe, relaxation is already in the air.

Dreamlike beach location
Very cosy and modern furnished holiday flat in direct beach location. The view of the water, the surfers and passing ships is simply priceless. You enjoy your holiday there from the very first second. Everything is within walking distance. Parking space directly at the house. The apartment is tastefully and functionally furnished. Ideal for 2 people. Very nice landlord! We will be very happy to come back!

A small but nice flat that couldn't be more centrally located. Clean and functional and for a few nice days by the sea really top!
The only thing we missed was a teapot ;-)
All in all, simply recommendable!
