Description
This comfortable holiday apartment is in the beautiful and tranquil Okrug Donji near Trogir on the island Ciovo. Enjoy a relaxing holiday in an absolutely quiet rural location with a view of greenery and surrounded by fir trees, olive trees, sage and Mediterranean vegetation, on the edge of the small locality. The beach and the centre with many amenities are within convenient walking distance. You can go on walks and exploratory trips on the island with its sandy bays and trips to Trogir or Split in the area.
The comfortably furnished apartment provides 90m² of living space and is on the ground floor of the two-storey house, below the apartment of the German-speaking owners. The air-conditioned interior comprises a very well-equipped kitchen with a dining room, a sociable living room, two separate bedrooms and a spacious bathroom. The first bedroom is furnished with a comfortable double bed (160 x 200cm) with two bedside tables and reading lamps. A generous wardrobe with sliding doors provides storage space. The second bedroom is furnished with a double bed (140 cm x 200 cm), a large wardrobe and a smart TV flat screen. Before going to sleep you can watch your favourite TV programmes comfortably from the bed. The second bedroom has direct access to a spacious terrace. After a day trip, you can relax in the stylish living room with exclusive furniture. A flatscreen TV with satellite channels, a DVD player and a stereo system provide entertainment. The fully-equipped kitchen enables comprehensive self-catering and includes a dishwasher, a fridge-freezer, a four-zone hob with an oven etc. The dining table with six chairs provides ample space for leisurely meals. The kitchen and living room open towards the outdoors. The newly designed bathroom with light tiles and modern flooring offers a pleasant atmosphere. It has a walk-in shower, a WC, a large washbasin, a washing machine and bathroom furniture.
There is plenty of space on the enclosed site for children to play and run around. A terrace with a comfortable dining suite and parasol invites you to dine outdoors. There is a new, additional terrace with garden furniture set. The fixed grill is in the garden, for sociable grill evenings.
The owners do their best to enable a comfortable and pleasant stay in your apartment and also speak very good German.
The beach Stari Porat is about 400 metres from the holiday apartment, just a few minutes’ walk away. Many shops, cafes and restaurants await your visit in Okrug Gornji about 3km away, along with a grocery shop and a post office. Apart from the many beach bays with clear, clean water, it is worth going on day trips to Trogir (7km), Krka waterfalls (60km) or Split (35km). It is a great place to relax and enjoy quiet starry nights. Owing to its peace and quiet, pristine nature, seclusion and the proximity to the UNESCO town Trogir, Okrug Donji is suitable for a leisurely holiday with the family, as well as a cultural stay.

Location and surroundings of object
Okrug Donji is a little village on the western side of the island Čiovo, which is just 7km from the historical picturesque town of Trogir on the mainland. The island is connected to the mainland via a bridge, in addition there is a boat line from Okrug Donji directly to Trogir. The island Ciovo is known especially for its beautiful secluded bays. It is especially popular due to its peace and quite and secluded natural surroundings for nudists. Of course there are also public beaches for families in Okrug Donji: the little pebbled beach Kava and the larger pebbled beach Stari Porat, as well as the beach Duga Uvala. If you go further along the coast you can find secluded spots to enjoy the forest and the sea. In clear visibility, you have a beautiful view to the south of Okrug Donji of the islands Kraljevac and Sveta Fumija.
Additional recreational facilities and trips, as well as the well-known cultural and natural monuments of central Dalmatia all around Trogir and Split provide a range of options. The island Ciovo is therefore a good starting point for visiting all the places of historical and natural interest in Dalmatia.
The city of Trogir (7 km),
Is a pearl on the coast of Dalmatia, only 27 km from the metropolis of Split. The city and the small resorts on the Riviera are a popular holiday and destination. The special charm and flair that the city has sprayed Trogir to thank the Romans.
These separated the old city center by a canal from the mainland. Today, as you walk across the bridge to the Old Town, your journey begins with the exciting history of the over 2000-year-old city.
Narrow romantic lanes lead you to the historic buildings and squares framed by a beautiful waterfront. In 1997, UNESCO declared the entire Old Town complex a World Heritage Site. In the evening, tempt the restaurants and konobas in the historic ambience of the old town and on the lively waterfront with traditional Mediterranean cuisine and excellent wines. Whether you want to end the evening quietly or explore the nightlife of the city, the possibilities are as varied and unique as the city itself.
The historic city of Split (35 km),
In the heart of Dalmatia, surrounded by the mountains Mosor, Kozjak and the mountain range Perun, you will find a real open-air museum in the year old town Split. The Palace of Diocletian, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979,
and the bustling Riva waterfront are the lively center of the city.
Culturally interested visitors to the city can expect a journey back in time to antiquity.
Magnificent mighty columns, squares and buildings recall the Roman era of Split.
Along the Riva and in the center of Split, specialties of Dalmatian cuisine await you in the evening. Freshly caught fish, octopus risotto, lobster and other delicacies can be found on the Konoba's menus, restaurants and taverns. After such delicacies, we recommend a walk along the Riva, where there is a lively and colorful atmosphere in the evenings. Entertainment can be found almost everywhere in the center of Split, convivial rounds in the cafes on the Riva.
National Park Krka (60 km),
Covers most of the course of the river and the bank of the river of the same name, from the historic town of Knin, not far from its origin, to Skradin. In Skradin, the Krka River turns into a long and deep bay. Attraction of the national park are the seven waterfalls. The biggest and most beautiful waterfalls are Skradinski buk and Roški slap. Along the Krka and the lakes you will find many old fortress ruins, mills and some monasteries. To emphasize is the Franciscan monastery on the island Visovac. The approximately 1-acre island was partially artificially heaped up. You can reach them with one of the numerous excursion boats that run on the lake.

Directions to Okrug Donji
The small historic town of Trogir is located right between the major cities of Sibenik and Split.
Once you pass Trogir you have to turn left over a small bridge that borders a fruit and vegetable market to reach the island of Ciovo.
At the end of the bridge turn right towards Okrug Gornji, always along the sprawling promenade and along the beach, recognizable by the umbrellas and many cafes, to the signposting towards Okrug Donji.
There you turn right. As soon as you pass Okrug Donji, take the first possibility to the left.
Then drive 50m to the next intersection, turn left and drive straight ahead. After approx. (200 m) you will find our apartment Sinaja.

Holiday on the island of Okrug Donji
We spent 6 days on the island of Okrug Donji. The accommodation leaves nothing to be desired, a very well-equipped new kitchen with plenty of dishes, pots, and frying pans, a dishwasher, and a coffee machine, etc.
At the end of July and beginning of August, it was very hot there, and there was air conditioning in the living room; the other 2 bedrooms had fans.
Anyone looking for peace and quiet is exactly right there; there are no neighbors around, and it's wonderfully quiet. The only downside is that you have to drive everywhere, whether it's to the bakery or the beach.
There is a Lidl and Kaufland 10 minutes away.
In the immediate vicinity, there are several smaller shops.
There are also several beaches nearby, but you have to pay for parking almost everywhere.
From there, you can easily reach several excursion destinations. For example, Split, Makarska, and Brela are all about an hour's drive away. We can say that the landlords are very friendly, speak very good German, and gave us many good tips. They are always open for a nice conversation. Upon arrival, there was water, juice, and beer in the fridge, which was very nice. We would recommend this holiday for people looking for peace and seclusion.

Summer holiday
The house, the location and cleanliness were very good, I have rarely had such good equipment in a kitchen, a dream for a holiday flat. The welcome was very warm, I was very positively surprised by the drinks and Croatian delicacies in the fridge. The landlady was very attentive and helpful and informed us about places of interest in the area. The beaches were 5 minutes away by car and walking was no problem. Trogir is a very nice town, with activities in the evening that we enjoyed.
It was a very nice holiday, the 3 weeks flew by, we would love to come back.

Super clean apartment
We had a nice relaxing holiday in the apartment Sinaja. If you are looking for peace and quiet to relax, this is the place for you. There are some beautiful beaches and bays nearby, some of which you have to yourself. There was nothing missing in the kitchen and the fridge was filled with drinks/biscuits and cheese/sausage plates when we arrived. The landlady took care of everything immediately if we had a question or a request. We were very satisfied

Autumn vacation
The holiday apartment is superbly equipped with everything you need. Spacious rooms with good facilities.
Hospitality is a top priority here.
There were treats from the surrounding area as a welcome gift and a selection of drinks.
There is a nice parking space for the car.
Everything in the area is easily accessible by car, and there is also plenty to discover on foot.
Trogir is a very beautiful town with its old town center and harbor.

Idyllic location, warm hosts
The house is idyllically located in the middle of nature, surrounded by olive trees. In 3 minutes by car you can reach one of the numerous beaches in the area. A small supermarket is also in the immediate vicinity. The equipment of the apartment is very high quality and everything you need is there, with a lot of attention to detail! We were warmly welcomed and the landlady had even already bought drinks and basic groceries and prepared some regional delicacies! That was simply amazing! In general, the hospitality and warmth of the landlady were simply extraordinary! We have not experienced that before, even though we have been in the area several times. If you are looking for a well-equipped holiday apartment in nature with friendly hosts, you will find it here. We will be happy to come back!

Holiday in Croatia
Very nice house, everything clean and well maintained. Super nice hostess, there were small gifts for welcome, for example homemade baked goods, a cheese and sausage plate from the region, a bottle of wine, two bottles of beer and water, simply great. The holiday apartment is very well equipped, especially in the kitchen there is everything you need and more. Seating and sun loungers with umbrellas, air conditioning, a washing machine and a dishwasher, simply everything is there to spend a great and relaxed time. There is a small supermarket and a restaurant with a coffee bar, which can be reached on foot in a few minutes. The beach in the village is also just a short walk away and everything else can be easily reached by car. The area around Trogir is beautiful, there is a lot to explore and a lot to experience. Thank you for the great time :o), we would love to come back.

Beautiful location, beautiful house, friendly and cozy owners.
Beautiful location in the not yet fully developed village of Okrug Donji. The apartment is located on the edge of the village. The new interior is practical and modern. All usual appliances are available. We will be warmly welcomed by the owner! The apartment has a garden, sitting here is truly wonderful. Here you can relax or engage in activities such as:
Sunbathing on the beach and swimming in the sea,
Hiking on the island,
Cycling or mountain biking,
Sailing, canoeing, jet skiing, or boating,
Day trip with a boat excursion,
Visiting the cultural cities of Trogir, Split, and Sibenik,
etc.
We had a great holiday in your house. A truly beautiful house fully furnished.

wonderful and relaxing vacation
I would highly recommend the vacation apartment to my family. The vacation apartment is modernly furnished and was very clean when we moved in. Very clean, large, and great holiday apartment. Felt at home quickly. Very nice hosts, helpful, friendly, and accommodating. Nearby is a small shop where you can get pretty much everything you need. The beach, about 400-500m from the house, is clean and not crowded. Okrug Donji is a rather quiet place, you can relax very well and let your soul dangle a bit. Nearby Trogir, there are many great sightseeing opportunities and a beautiful old town. Split is located approximately 27 km from the house.

My wife and I have lived 25 years in Stuttgart, And in this time we have built our house, and then moved to Croatia. Now we live on island Ciovo, in a small village Okrug Donji, Miteldalmatien.
