Thanks to the strategic location, one can easily choose what activities to undertake: either trekking in the nearby Bucegi or Piatra Craiului Mountains, or short trips at the chalets from the area, at the Zarnesti gorges and other interesting natural monuments. There area also possibilities for free-climbing (Zarnesti and Rasnov gorges), fishing, shooting medieval bows (in the Rasnov fortress) and cross-country motor racing and cycling (available to rent in Zarnesti). Winter sports fans are welcomed, as the ski slopes from Bran (8 km) and from Poiana Brasov (25 km) provide slopes with different degrees of difficulty. Staying in Zarnesti, allows the guests to visit the neighboring medieval churches and castles, among which the castle from Bran (known as Dracula’s castle) and the Saxon fortress from Rasnov.
