We spent three nights there and had no problems. The accommodation was clean and had a fully equipped kitchen including an oven and microwave, which made cooking easier. The on-site parking was especially helpful since we had rented a car. The flat-screen TV and Wi-Fi worked excellently during our leisure time.

Seaside 3-Bedroom Luxury Penthouse

Stara Novalja

Four nights here and zero complaints. The apartment’s layout felt spacious with three bedrooms and plenty of bathrooms so we never waited around. Parking was close and easy to find every time we returned from exploring nearby bays. The kitchen had everything needed to prepare meals comfortably during our stay.

What do you need to experience in Pag?

1,600-Year-Old Trees

During your stay in a private holiday home or apartment on Pag, there's an endless array of things to see and do. Learn about the fascinating development of the island at the ethnographic collection in Kolan or the salt extraction exhibition which showcases how salt was once harvested from seawater. A natural gem is the Pag Triangle near Novalja. At the top of Velo Tusto Celo mountain, you'll find a rock inscription in the shape of an isosceles triangle. The origin of the inscription is still a mystery, with some even claiming stories of UFO sightings in the area. When strolling or driving around the island, you'll notice the protected olive trees. The Lun Olive Groves are a breathtakingly beautiful nature area in a unique landscape. The oldest specimens are believed to be around 1,600 years old. Another peculiarity of the island of Pag are the dry stone walls, originally built to separate fields and prevent sheep from jumping over. These walls still serve their purpose today, providing protection for the animals from sun, wind, and storms. If you happen to be in Pag during the last week of July, be sure to visit the traditional carnival. Regarded as the oldest event of its kind on the Adriatic, the carnival features colorful shows, delicious food, and exceptional handicrafts.

What can you experience in Pag with children?

Quiet Bays and Boat Trips

A private holiday home or apartment provides the perfect setting for a fantastic beach holiday on Pag for the entire family. There are countless beaches that are ideal for families, including Čista beach, the peaceful Ručica, the sandy Sveti duh beach, and the idyllic bays of Lun. The busiest spot is Prosika city beach, where you'll find boat rentals, sports facilities, ice cream shops, beach cafes, and snack bars. Tip: Discover the best beaches on your own by renting a boat and exploring areas such as Goriška draga, Baška slana, Malin, or Mali zaton.

Where can I eat out in Pag?

Where There's Smoke and Aroma

A unique culinary culture has developed on Pag, catering to all preferences. In the romantic alleys of the towns, you'll find traditional Konobas as well as top-notch restaurants and cozy cafes. The island is particularly famous for its Pag cheese, which can be purchased in the classic cheese shops. We recommend a visit to the Gligora cheese factory in Kolan, where you can participate in guided tours and buy their excellent cheese in the sales shop. Here, you can also learn more about the fascinating process of cheese-making. The local salt is referred to as the white gold of Pag. The Pag salt pans are the largest of their kind in Croatia. Typical Pag specialties also include thick veal chops or the Pag lamb stew cooked under the Peka bell in charcoal embers. Don't be surprised if you see smoke and smell delicious aromas around every corner in Pag. Large grills are often set up along the streets, where suckling pigs or lambs are being roasted. This makes your holiday with a holiday home or apartment a special culinary experience.

How do I come to Pag?

Crossing the Bridge to Happiness

The dreamy island of Pag is located north of Zadar in Dalmatia and is part of the Adriatic region in Croatia. You can travel to your holiday home or apartment via the airports of Rijeka or Zadar. From there, you can also find ferry connections to the island. If you're arriving by car, you'll first pass through the Tauern motorway, Villach, and Ljubljana or Maribor in Slovenia before reaching Zagreb. From there, continue towards Rijeka or Zadar. Finally, a bridge leads directly to the island of Pag.
