Modern Spa Retreat Nr. Lyngby

Lökken

View German

The house gives an overall good impression, however, some technical facilities urgently need maintenance/repair (satellite system without reception, kitchen sink faucet very difficult to operate). We have now been to the house for the 3rd time and would choose the house again. We particularly like the location and the large terrace. Recommendations: A visit to the famous lighthouse Rubjerg Knude Fyr is recommended. Additionally, the beaches in Nr Lyngby and Lokken. One should also take a stroll through the beautiful Lönstrup.

The holiday home was well equipped with a washing machine and dryer. The coffee machine is of very good quality, but unfortunately very calcified due to irregular descaling. The location is very good with a magnificent view through the dunes and with the 2 terraces also usable in the wind. The driveway is in need of repair. However, with our vehicle (SUBARU) no problem.

Very beautiful house, located quietly at the end of the driveway. Inside the house, nothing is missing. There is enough dishware, cutlery, cups, glasses, pots, etc. The furnishings are in great condition, only the beds were too worn for us. New mattresses and toppers are needed here.

What do you need to experience in Lökken?

Løkken: Vacation Between Abandoned Lighthouses and Dune Plantations

Your destination Løkken is a charming seaside resort with superlative sandy beaches and, together with Blokhus, is one of Denmark's top vacation spots. In the high season, it can get a bit lively in the intact town center with its beautiful and quaint houses. You don't really have to worry about your own freedom of movement, as a 20 km long beach covered with the finest sand stretches up to Lønstrup. The landmark of the seaside resort is the many white beach cottages on the beach. The bunker ruin, marked with peace doves, is a relic of the "Atlantic Wall" and a reminder of the German occupation. Learn more about it at the Løkken Local History Museum. Take a break from the beautiful beach and visit the mighty, 1000-year-old Børglum Monastery with many events and exhibitions. If you want to spend a vacation with a dog in Løkken, you should head to Tornby in the "Tornby Klitplantage" (dune plantation). This natural attraction offers many hiking and biking trails, a dog forest, and the Viking fortress Yxenborg. A MUST-DO is certainly the "Rubjerg Knude" wandering dune and its abandoned slender lighthouse, which has become a landmark of the region. Not a glorious chapter of European history, yet an important attraction in Denmark is the "Hirtshals 10. Battery" Bunker Museum. A guided tour takes you to 69 bunker facilities with trenches where German soldiers fought World War II. In neighboring Hjørring, in addition to much historical worth seeing, especially the Iron Age graves at the cemetery are a must-see. Book a cozy accommodation or a holiday home, an apartment on the West Coast with a sauna, and enjoy an unforgettable vacation tailored to your personal wishes full of opportunities for excursions to the sandy beach, the North Sea, and experience the idyllic landscape in the north and the versatile area in all its facets.

What can you experience in Lökken with children?

Beyond Beach Life: Visit a Circus Princess!

In Lökken, by the North Sea and the surrounding area, families with and without children find it hard to get bored. Here, you can build sandcastles or go hiking in the area and much more! Certainly, a beach vacation in Lökken is a top priority. Starting with treats like the candies you can make yourself at Bolcheriets® (candy factory), and ending with mini-golf. Major attractions for the whole family include the Løkken Miniby (Mini-City) and the large "Action House" with bowling, laser games, go-kart, arcade, paintball, and a playland. Equally for young and old is the "Circus Farm," where the "real circus princess" Katja Schumann reigns and looks after the well-being of her animals. Numerous farms in the area offer children beautiful encounters with animals, and horse lovers will look forward to a beach ride. Oh yes, and you can also fish in the North Sea here. Fun for the whole family is available at the "Family Farm FUN PARK" in Aalbæk with many petting animals, carousel, watercraft, and slides. After a day at the sandy beach or in the refreshing water, hike along the dunes, stroll through shops, and create unforgettable experiences with your family! Also, take a trip to Blokhus, Saltum, and Lyngby or other idyllic places right on the coast. The Lønstrup Klint cliffs are also worth a visit!

Where can I eat out in Lökken?

Dining North Jutland Style – Fresh from the Sea!

The North Jutland cuisine dominates – as expected – everything that comes from the sea. Herring, Norway lobsters, mussels, crabs, daily fish, oysters come directly from the Atlantic to your plate in the restaurant or in your vacation apartment. Prepared with the finest ingredients or simply and traditionally, the gifts of the sea taste like heaven in your mouth. Large fish auctions in Skagen and Hanstholm offer you an exciting insight into the fish specialties. Fish and seafood in North Jutland are served with delicious Vildmose potatoes (wild moor potatoes) or in Smørrebrød. Don't miss the well-known North Jutland food festivals throughout Denmark, which set new culinary standards for the region! These include the Læsø Norway Lobster Festival, the Seafood Festivals in Mors and Løgstør, and the Fish Festival in Hirtshals. The regional beer from the many microbreweries is drunk, but for digestion, there's Bjesk, a herbal schnapps from North Jutland. For dessert, there are (wild) strawberries with cream, traditional candies from Bolcheriets®, or ice cream from local production. Discover even more traditional gourmet delights of the region in the numerous farm shops!
