Traveled with the family. The surroundings were peaceful with enough space inside and a shower that was easily accessible. We spent nice moments on the terrace when the weather was nice.

Welcoming Aix en Provence as a destination for the whole family

Aix en Provence is a city in the south of France where one immediately feels at home. For a family holiday in Provence, a privately rented holiday accommodation, apartment or holiday home in Aix en Provence is well worth it. On the one hand, the lively yet manageable city offers quiet relaxation in numerous parks. The old town invites you to stroll and linger. Numerous fountains provide a little refreshment and play for children. On the other hand, your affordable holiday apartment in Aix is the ideal starting point for exploring the southern Provence. A highlight is Saintes Maries de la Mer. The old pilgrimage site demonstrates its historical relevance through historical buildings. For children, however, the bathing beaches are likely to be more interesting. Another beautiful bay can be found in Cassis, for example, from where boat trips to the Calanques bay can be taken.

Where can I eat out in Aix en Provence?

French pleasure and the simplicity of Provence

First and foremost, the Provence is known for its incredible treasure of fragrant herbs. Thyme and rosemary, fennel and mint, basil, bay or sage - this is the taste of Provence. Fresh truffles from the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence add to the exclusivity of French cuisine. At its core, however, Provençal cuisine is a simple, rural gastronomy. Lamb, regional from the highlands, sheep or goat cheese, cold cuts from a variety of salami and ham types, fresh salad. This is the cuisine of Provence. Additionally, the southern part towards the Côte d'Azur has Mediterranean influences with fish and seafood. In the university city of Aix en Provence, this creates an exciting mix of rural, meat-heavy cuisine from the hinterland and fresh Mediterranean cuisine. The city is also known for its outstanding bakeries. Fougasse with olives, a typical Provençal bread, can be found in these as well as sweet temptations such as croissants or pain au chocolat.
