A great holiday flat with a beautifully maintained garden surrounded by palm, kiwi, apple and pear trees
The highlight for our children, however, was the well-maintained pool.
(The landlord even took a water sample every morning, where else is that?). There is a water slide by the pool which was also very popular with both young and old guests. A table tennis table should also be mentioned. A large selection of playground equipment that could be borrowed free of charge from the landlord made the holiday unforgettable for the children
The very hospitable landlord organised some very tasty barbecue evenings with us. We bought the fish together in the morning at the fish market in Rijeka, so the fish could be eaten freshly grilled directly in the evening.
The home-made good wine should not be forgotten here either
The holiday home was very clean and the modern air conditioning made the heat very bearable
There is a supermarket about 5 minutes from the holiday home which is easily accessible on foot. There is also a Lidl with German-speaking staff about 5 minutes' drive away.
A visit to the old town of Matulji is also recommended. Between historical buildings and small alleys, there are nice restaurants and pubs where you can spend the evening.
the town of Opatija is about 10 minutes away by car, where you can go swimming on the beach or take a nice walk along the promenade. Opatija is rich in beautiful parks and wonderful old buildings
Opatija is the pearl of Croatia in terms of entertainment and culture.
The wonderful climate made for restful nights and after two weeks we were sad to have to go back to rainy Germany.
There is a road next to the holiday home, but we did not find it disturbing, so it is not a negative point.
The holiday home is definitely to be recommended. If it were possible to award 6 stars here, I would gladly do so.
