We stayed with 8 women in this holiday home in February. Upon arrival we were very kindly received by our contact person but the shutters of the house were still closed and the house was completely unheated. Upon entering through the (too) small kitchen we were immediately confronted with very old and dirty sinks. There was no first roll of toilet paper in the toilet, which you normally find in every holiday home. The mixer that was present was broken. When making the beds (ourselves!), it turned out that there were not enough winter duvets for 8 people.
The second evening of our stay we were suddenly confronted with a terrible smell of oil in the living room. We tried to reach the contact person but the house rules listed an incorrect contact person and telephone number. When we were finally able to reach the right person, he immediately came to check the heating system. When everything appeared to be normal there, she contacted the homeowner. He spoke of a normal phenomenon that occurred occasionally and advised us to open all the doors to get rid of the unpleasant smell. However, he refused to comply with our contact person's request to give us a free wood package to warm us up again.
It is not possible to make a wifi connection in this house. There are no fire alarms.
We have been renting through Belvilla for years, but this house is absolutely not recommended in terms of price-quality ratio!

The photos gave a better impression than reality. There is a veranda extension to the living room and kitchen without sun blinds, which makes it sweltering inside on hot days. 2 fans cannot fix this.
We paid 685.29 euros for water and energy for a week in the summer at the settlement. We did not use the sauna or heating. Outside the summer, these costs will increase. If you add up rent and consumption, you arrive at a considerable sum and the price/quality ratio for this property is negative.
The cover of the swimming pool was defective on arrival and could not be opened. This made it swelteringly hot for 3 days in the closed outdoor pool. After 3 days this was resolved but no response to our request for compensation.
Because the bedrooms could not be darkened, we applied aluminum foil to 2 bedroom windows. Afterwards, traces of limescale remained visible. These can be removed with household vinegar. However, the owner decided to retain 177 euros from our deposit without any justification. We found out that as a tenant we only have obligations and no rights and the owner has the deposit in his hands. So we are powerless. We have been renting a holiday home in the Ardennes for more than 15 years, but this is the most expensive and worst experience ever.

It was a cozy, lovely stay at this very nice house in the Belgian Ardennes. We enjoyed our time at the house very much. The house was perfectly prepared for us and the communication was easy and sufficient.
